I'm pretty pleased that Tesla protection is on sale - got that one Mk7 on my main and also at whatever level I could my alts. Soon everyone and their dog will be using Tesla, so will be worth it lol

It's explosive golds so shouldn't be too hard, 5-10 games max with a light hull or less if you have lifeguard drone :) . EDIT: Forgot it was explosive golds, so Hopper not as useful.

Nice event, the increased gold special DMs look good :) Especially the 2nd with no overdrives. And a 10 Ultras reward from the special missions instead of 7 is cool. However what does this mean? Do we only have 3 days to turn in the missions now, once we complete them? Or, do we only have 3 days to do the missions - so we only have this weekend to complete them??? Agreed - what does this mean? We need clarification. EDIT: Banner is very cool lol. Love the cows and abducted tank.

Might just be me, but I don't really find Shaft to be OP at low ranks? Some turrets are quite reliant on augments to be effective, and are comparatively weak in their stock versions. This is not so with Shaft, which is one of the turrets least reliant on augments to do well - and at lower ranks of course you have less augments than at high. Also, turrets with non-instant hit projectiles gain the advantage of faster projectiles as they rank up, making them significantly better in some cases at high ranks than at low. Finally, Shaft in its scoped mode has no "range of maximum and minimum damage" - which increases for turrets like Smoky and Thunder as they rank up, making their higher modifications better than their lower rank modifications - if we compared them to instant-hit turrets like Shaft at the same modification level. All these factors combined, possibly make Shaft feel stronger at low ranks - but I still don't think it is OP. I have no problem competing with Shaft at low ranks with most other turrets personally.

Fantastic gameplay :) That is a very nice combo indeed it seems with the greatly increased maximum splash damage radius during supercharge - makes RRE much more powerful. Also really good with Tesla as we will soon see no doubt.

I agree that large battles are a problem - CTF, RGB and ASL above 10v10 needs to go, as it is farr too hard to capture in RGB and CTF - these games almost always end in 1-0 or 0-0 and are basically TDM with no time limit, very frustrating and annoying. ASL is hopelessly imbalanced towards defenders above 8v8 - the current scoring system was designed for 8v8 and not 10v10/12v12/14v14 - the defenders accumulate kills far too fast, and it is far too hard to capture in larger battles. And yes, the larger battles also contribute to lag and make the "no damage bug" happen much more frequently. I believe the point of the different numbers of players was to give more variety rather than having 8v8 every game - but the problems with the current system are worse since they introduced large battles. CP, TDM (if TDM kills-to-win was increased for large battles, which it should be) and JGR can be fun in larger matches, but in other modes 12v12 and 14v14 simply do not work. PS: Tip for you - if you regularly encounter the no-damage bug, try exiting (by physically closing down the game) really faster immediately a battle starts loading, and restarting - this often works for me to avoid getting the bug. I have to do this for almost every battle, which is annoying but it can work. The bug must be fixed - but until then.

Ouch :( Well hopefully your luck will be in at some point lol. You haven't gotten any legendaries (other than paints) from Ultras? If so that is super bad luck, so far on this account I think I have 3 AP augments, EMP Gauss and Stun Smoky as far as Ultra exclusive augments go, as well as Ares and Hornet Jammer immunity. All free to play Ultras. And of course the Crisis, as well as Hopper XT and the shot effect for Vulcan. The best regular container reward I have received other than augments is 100k crystals on this account I think (I regard that as better than any Legendary paint, of course).

Hi, I have sometimes observed a bug where I got a certain augment, and I went to the garage and it was not immediately available. Try refreshing the game in this case, and you should see it next time. If you got a Cold Resistance augment, it should have an icon showing which hull it was for. If you didn't get that then that is a bug which you should perhaps report in the bug report topic (you will usually need to attach a screenshot showing the bugged icon, however): If you got a cold resistance augment, but it is not for Dictator, then you could indeed check each hull to see which one it was for. Or if you contact help@tankionline.com, the customer service, they should be able to tell you which one you received from the container.

Yes, pretty much. Although I still got Crisis and other good rewards on my main just because I do the Special events often, and it is very likely that I'll land on something good eventually. I was basically trying to say that Ultra Container rewards are definitely better than normal containers as opposed to what some people claim, and I can verify that from experience - although you don't get lucky every time. But you almost certainly will, sometimes.

Spread betting ? Clever.

Nope, I definitely don't buy - my main account has almost 0 batteries to prove it ? . And I would run out of other supplies if I didn't keep switching between Defender/Trickster/Booster/Driver so I don't eat up too many of any one supply. I have done the special missions often, so sometimes I hit it lucky - other times I didn't. This time I certainly did lol. Regarding alt rewards, I just have quite a few alt accounts. As I say if you get free stuff on several different accounts, on the Tanki birthday for instance that adds up to an insane amount of free Ultras. We got 24 free Ultras + potentially another 12 on the "secret party" event (lets say you have a 1 in 3 chance to for the secret party event, so average 12/3 = 4 ultras per account extra), to give a total of 28 free Ultras on average. Lets say you have 20 accounts, then 20 x 28 = 560 free Ultras across 20 accounts. In 560 ultras, you are going to get some good rewards on some of your accounts - and then if you get something good, you can play on that account for a bit and wreck people.
-
I don't really think Viking overdrive needs a nerf, coming from someone who uses almost all hulls between my main and alt accounts - and I don't have a problem fighting Vikings when I'm using other hulls. I do however think Hunter could do with a slight buff, and Wasp also. As for Juggernaut mode, I think Hunter overdrive should do something to Juggernaut (maybe the Juggernaut should not be immune, or only have 50% reduced duration to Jammer effects???), and also the Juggernaut should be made vulnerable (50% protection) to heat effects - every since it was given immunity to Stun and heat Hunter and Firebird have been so useless there. This partly contributes to the current dominance of Viking in that mode.

I am pretty lucky to get Crisis, for sure. And I also got EMP Gauss at Christmas which was big back then. However as I say, over time when you open more containers your chances to get good stuff per container improve as you accumulate more of the "fluff" rewards, and you are left with only the good stuff. As for the rewards on my alts, if you open on a few different accounts you are very likely to get lucky on one or two. I can certainly tell from the huge amount of Ultras we got on Tanki birthday that the rewards from Ultras are certainly better than normal containers, and I have good rewards frequently from special missions on my main also. So the chances for high tiers definitely are better than normal containers, that is verifiably true.

I am really disappointed in the 4000 stars requirement for completing the challenges introduced at the beginning of June. This makes the challenge nearly impossible to complete for casual players - if you are able to play EVERY day (which a lot players, including myself) cannot, even if you do all the special missions on events you still have many extra stars to grind to get the silver or gold tier done. If however you miss a day, you must make up 150 stars for every day missed - which can result in a massive amount of extra grinding needed to get the challenge done. I missed 2 days of the last challenge which would have taken me 100 games (or 50 with premium) to make up - and that is if I made the maximum number of stars for every game. Not only is it hard to do this on your main account, it is now hard to complete on one account but impossible to complete on multiple accounts - many players such as myself have alt accounts and enjoyed being able to complete on more than one account without a huge amount of trouble (although it was still a reasonable effort) on several accounts. The new system is extremely unfriendly to alternate accounts, which many Tanki players enjoy playing. The current challenge format is extremely punishing for players who cannot play daily, and even for those who can. Under the old 3000 stars requirement if you missed a day or two you could still complete the challenge - now getting even the silver tier is only for the most hardcore players. Please, at the very least reduce the requirement to 3500 stars - 3000 was fine, but 4000 is simply excessive. Everyone is unhappy about this, so listen to the players. I am a lot more annoyed about this than I am about the higher price of the battle pass - AT LEAST allow us to complete the silver tier without insane grinding.

Ultra containers are definitely Ultra and do have better rewards - in fact do you know that I as a free player got Crisis from this weekend's special mission Ultras! (However, I won't have enough supplies to really use it often - so it is a buyer only drone really.) Although I can use it on my alt account which I play rarely, as... this isn't the first time I've gotten Crisis - I also got it on an alt account from the Ultras available during Tanki's brithday, and I am a fully free player on all accounts. I have gotten several exotics on my main and from the birthday Ultras on various accounts I got rewards such as Armadillo, skins, EMP Gauss, Blunderbuss and numerous other legendaries and epics. So the Ultra Container rewards are verifiably better, with a higher chance for exotic/legendary/epic and some of the super-strong Ultra-only drops - but by the nature of probability you won't get lucky every time - sorry for your bad luck this time. But in time you are likely to get good rewards. Ultra containers must be fleshed out with often giving common rewards, otherwise the game's economy and the value of rare rewards would be decreased too much. So Ultra containers are fine the way they are, and they do definitely give better rewards although it sucks when your luck isn't in. But it is wrong for people to say they don't give better rewards, and that you can't get good stuff from them as a free player - because you surely can. One thing to note is that rewards are likely to be better if you have an account which has played a lot, as you then have more of the "fluff" rewards such as paints and then your are more likely to get the higher value rewards such as the big crystal packs, or any new powerful augments that come. My main account which has done quite a few special events for Ultras, and opened many regular containers in its time, probably has much better rewards than a newer account on average. If you look at the extreme end of things - big buyers are left with only 1,000,000 crystals in their exotic tier, so they are guaranteed to get that or a newly released augment or skin every time they get an exotic.

I agree, having 1 hour for the token of apology was ridiculous - it should have been available all day to be fair for everyone. I managed to get it, but very unfair for people like you who didn't.

I did not complete the June - part 1 challenge, which is the first challenge since they started offering stars from weekly and daily missions AND where I played a large amount throughout the challenge period, that I did not complete. The 4000 stars requirement is highly excessive for the casual player - not everyone can play every day, if you do play literally every day of the challenge you still have to play a huge amount to complete it - but if you can't play on certain days the extra stars you must earn to make up for that is truly punishing. If you miss one day, you must make up 150 stars (that is 50 games where you get 3 stars without premium, or 25 with) - I missed 2 days of the challenge where I could not play, which meant I would have needed to play 100 games without premium or 50 games with - and THAT is assuming I managed 3 (or 6) stars every single game. To get 300 stars from games, that would take 100 x 7 = 700 minutes or 11 hours and 40 minutes of playtime to complete, just for missing two days, and that is if I managed 3 stars every game, or 5 hours and 50 minutes with premium - just for missing two days of dailies. ******************************************************** Analysis: ****************************************************************************** Now let's think about how many stars you need to make up to complete the challenge for someone in my situation, taking the June - part 1 challenge as an example: Spolier (full maths calculation within): Result: 3 hours 23 minutes / (1+1/3) = 2 hours 32 minutes of playtime per day ********************************************************** Conclusion: **************************************************************** So the average player who can play 13 days of a 15 day challenge, who completes all special missions and all weekly missions and has premium for 4 days will need to play on average around 2 hours and 30 minutes of games each day to complete the challenge. That is just too much, for a daily requirement. The challenge should require at most 3500 stars, otherwise it is out of the reach of all but the most no-life players who can play daily, and a lot. ***********************************************************************************************************************************************************************

The Gauss aiming recovery time nerf was definitely needed, but 0.7 seconds is too low. This means that with light hulls, especially if facing higher modification equipment (which has more impact force of course) it is possible to have your aim thrown totally off when trying to fire an aimed shot and lose your lock on, especially if 2 or more enemies are hitting you at once. That is just silly, 1 second would be just right - not as forgiving as 2 seconds which was wayyy too much, but not problematically low like we have now. Also it is crazy that Striker had its aiming recovery time reduced to 0.7 seconds too - why??? Strikers aiming mode was hardly OP, both Striker and Gauss need to have 1 second.

Cosmic, I'm not saying that I approve of the developers' general strategy in relation to recent updates - for instance I was strongly and vocally critical of many such as the recent increase to 4000 stars for the challenges, and the tripling of the cost of the battle pass. However, I think we should be thankful on those occasions when we do receive something good - which in this case we have. If we don't give positive feedback where it is due, how are we to direct the developers to what we do want? We just received a lot of cool free gifts, 1 1/2 months equivalent of special missions Ultras without having to gain exp for it, and almost a month's worth of shard containers. So that level of free gifting does level the playing field between F2P and buyers on a temporary basis at least, slightly. Still doesn't make up for the 4th module, and maxed drones needed to get full power supplies etc - but my accounts have done well out of it. Overall I am still greatly dissatisfied with the developers' general direction when it comes to updates in the last few months, but for the free gifts during this birthday event I think we have to acknowledge they have been more generous than they needed to be, which is one good thing at least. I aim to be a fair critic - if they do something good I will give positive feedback, but for bad changes made for potentially bad motives, I will give negative feedback. And sadly that means most of my feedback lately is negative, but for the birthday event I am thankful.

Incendiary mix is the only thing Firebird has, why would we want to nerf the weakest turret (overall) in the game at Legend? I don't think so, and Isida/Adrenaline or AP Freeze are at least equal to Firebird's only good augment, while having lots of good augments as opposed to Firebird's one and only. Firebird needs a buff for sure, will be the last turret I buy at Legend if it stays the way it is.

12 extra containers on a weekday is just insane lol, was wondering if there has been some error ? Well thanks for that lol. Looool :) With this level of generosity we might see Ultras again, I'm personally guessing supplies tomorrow and something like 12 Coinboxes/Blaster drone (since we got a drone last time)/some random immunity augment at the weekend. I think that there will probably be another 12 Tankoins too. Who knows though, these gifts have been pretty awesome so far :)

Hey, I would totally agree that I don't like the big rise in stars required to complete the battle pass, and also the 3 times price increase for the gold tier (although I am much more annoyed about the 4000 stars for silver tier, because this makes the challenge nearly impossible for casual players to complete - and all the tankoins are at the end). However as for the free gifts, I don't think we can say that they have been anything other than extremely generous - by far the most generous the developers have been in any Tanki birthday so far. The 12 of each supply gifts don't really matter, because we got 12 containers and 12 ultra containers on consecutive days, and we are getting 12 more ultras at the end. We also got another 12 containers from the easy 12 notes even + 14.5k crystals, and you even had a chance to earn 12 more ultras from secret party. That is 24 free containers, and 24-36 free ultras which is a lot. I agree that the 12 crystals should have been 12,000 crystals, but that is probably a literal joke from the developers lol, as that came after the mega gifts. As for repeated augments in the battle pass, personally I like that as not everyone can get every battle pass - and they might miss an augment that they wanted. For instance I want Viking AP immunity which has already come up (but I couldn't get the pass then), and I would be annoyed if it never came up again just because it has been on the gold tier once before. Only the most dedicated buyers are able to get the pass every time. In general though about the challenge changes I agree - I would like to see the stars reduced to 3000 again, or 3500 at most (completable with Special mission stars). The price increase for gold tier I can sort of live with, but 500 was great, even 1000 would be more reasonable. If we can at least do the silver tier that would be something, but with 4000 stars there is too much of a time requirement (or experience gain requirement also, for low ranks) to complete it for many players such as myself.
-
Wooooo awesome! Thanks so much for the free Tankoins, wow would never have expected to have won this :) That's the best prize of all too, well looks like a battle pass will be within reach for me then if I can complete a few silver tiers. Thanks @Marcus and all who made the contest :)

This event was pretty awesome :) It was cool to get a random gift, and of course to have one gift as good as 12 Ultras. Normally it would have sucked to have such a difference in the gifts, for people who didn't get the 12 Ultras - but since we all got 12 Ultras free from the free gift anyway (and can get 12 free at the end of the 17 days too), it was not so bad if you didn't get the 12 Ultras. Very awesome free gifts this birthday, thanks for the event! EDIT: Although I do think registration for the "Secret Party" should have been open for 24 hours, for those players who were in certain time zones, and ended up missing it which sucked. At least they got the 12 free Ultras from the gift, but still I think registration for events should be a 24 hour period at least, to account for different time zones.

It is so funny to see the outcome of these free Ultras - played a few games on a low rank account and you can see warrant officers with low GS and one module only - but that module is Armadillo, lol ?
