If you use a medium hull and a melee-ranged turret, your strategy barely changes, and the drone just racks up kills.

I think there should be a 15 second wait after the Juggernaut dies, and the player with the highest battle-score that dies within that time-frame becomes the new Juggernaut.

At the rate that things are going now, I am sure that for enough cash from buyers they would be willing to change the name.

This is a great story, but as it is more a story of your experiences, and not a discussion of an advantage of going turret less.
