Light Capacitor (which I use) mostly remove the need to be, or stay, in scoping mode. It allows one to drive around and stop for a quick scope and kill as needed, or if camping to play peek-a-boo. Helps a lot for situational awareness. I'm an adult player, what annoys me most is the immaturity, as in gloating (or whining) players. How often did you see some players going around and typing xaxaxa non-stop in chat box every time they kill someone? Or dropping smug comments like 'eazy' at the end of the match - Often by players not even in the top half of scorers. Poor sportmanship. And that's not even mean young players, there's immaturity at all ages.

And thus the howling hordes of buyers swarm down like a plague of locust to the new 'meta' offered by Alternativa on the bleeding meat platter. This is disgusting, they don't even try to pretend to make the game balanced and interesting, it's so obviously one cash grab after the other.
-
I'm a Shaft/Hunter player, always has been, high tide or low tide, but with the Shaft buff, the new Shaft/RFM/Hornet meta makes me sick at heart, everyone and their cousin-sister have Shaft protection now, this is disgusting. Lets note that the 'new meta' is always Hornet/[insert random turret] + Booster or Defender. Last match I played there was 5 Shafts in my team and 3-4 in the other. About a third on both side were Hornets. Edit: I fecking hate Hornet Online.
-
I was called a noob for using Shaft, maybe the player was pissed after I killed him repetitively...
-
Yes. I was tempted, but didn't.
-
Including Spider - Everything I get that Defender, Vulcan, Hornet are very powerful right now, but that's my point, I dislike using the flavor of the month combos hoops that the devs wants us to jump through. I refuse to let my gameplay be led by that. In fact, I usually go counter and enjoy ruining those players. I am become and expert to kill and make life miserable to those that do. ? Which if we think about, means that I in fact DO jumps through the hoops, just not on the same direction as many. Leads to some collisions. I am mainly a Shaft player, always been, always will, whatever map, mission or circumstance. You got to learn to adapt. I do use smoky far in-between, used to use a Freeze on another account, which I stopped using due to time constraints. Edit: I have upgraded Sprinter to 13/20. Combined with Hunter it's wonderful to complete CTF missions.
-
At my rank, I just finished upgrading every Protections to 50% at the last sale a couple weeks past. So what's left to me to spend money on... Start on a 3th Turret maybe, and Drones. One thing I am NOT doing is get Vulcan, Hornet and Defender.
-
I play exclusively Hunter, you don't see many anymore. Of course, Hornet numbers eclipse everything else. However, given the hull is rarer it seems I get disproportional attention after I OD a couple times - Maybe it doesn't help that I focus on killing Hornets.
-
What do you mean by 'consistent'? It's been nerfed by nearly 80%, I guess many Hunter players got disgusted and joined the Hornet crowd. Now, I'd like to read the online screaming if Hornet was nerfed by 80%...
-
Likely because I play Shaft and Defender doesn't matter much when I pop DD. But yeah, Defender can also be a problem. Now, I fail to see why why you get angry with someone who has nothing to do with game balance. You could have mentioned Defender and made a comparison VS Booster efficiency without climbing at walls. ?
-
Let me rephrase: Booster Drone combined with Hornet is OP. I am not familiar with Booster, but I see it used a LOT by Hornet players.
-
Exactly. I'm done with the grind. That being said, that's a good financial strategy from Alternativa. Get the players addicted to grinding is common in most games. Create Challenge after Challenge and many players will be so hooked that once they get tired of the grind (or realize they won't quite complete the Challenge) they will shell $$$ to get the Stars or Tanki Coins to get what they want. Of course there is fine balance to walk between grinding and reward. if grinding doesn't reward enough, players will just get bored and leave.
-
Vulcan is due for a slight nerf I think, and, mostly, reduce its obnoxious sound volume. If one is shooting close by its the only thing you hear! The problem is the Hornet OD that is presently OP. It last way too long and ignore spawn invulnerability. Devs recently nerfed Hunter OD by maybe 80%? I don't think Hornet OD needs an 80% nerf, but it needs one. Hunter didn't deserve such a heavy nerf, and is now especially disadvantaged with the new Hull alts negating its abilities, IMHO. Booster drone is OP and need to be toned down a bit.

That would help. When I play for fun and have a chance to score in the top half, or at least top 3 of a losing match I switch some alts and stay. But when one plays for challenges, we NEED to score top 3 most of the time, so maybe half the MM maps earns and instant 'Leave Battle' - Then there's the times when MM drop you in an already lost or halfway through battle, so that's another instant 'Leave Battle'. I worked hard to complete Challenges lately (free time due to quarantine) and it meant I left 3/4 of time due to the above reasons. That means that more than half of my playtime was actually waiting for battles to load. That being said, I'm done with grinding Challenges, MM make it too frustrating.
-
Understatement of the day. ? Most players will die of old age before saving that. Or the game will.
-
Who else just click Leave Battle when MM drop you in a map you hate and know you won't do well in? Alternatively, who else also leave a match that the awful MM drop you in and is already lost or about to end?
-
Just needed to blow off some steam and rant a bit, trying to play CTF and MM threw me in a dozen already lost matches in a row before I gave up. Thank you for MM, its pure crap. Oh, and yeah, Hornet Online.

Missed it, haven't been on the forum in a few days. Played a bit last 2 days, teams half comprised of Hornets are common. 9 Hulls in game, over 40% used are Hornet. Tsk. Next: Drones in containers. Likely next Winter.
-
Simple. Gambling is based on the premise the addicted gambler (player) will believe that 'THIS time it will pay off, THIS time' and continue burning money. Making obtension of augments in container is nothing more, or less, than gambling. Gaming addiction is a fact in the gaming industry, grinding and gambling are two sides of the same coin. If you can cater to both while keeping it interesting then the game should thrive. The strategy is for players to get tired of grinding and pay real money to get containers faster. Making it random (gambling) and preventing players from actually getting what they specifically want increases the pressure to buy even more. Basics of hooking addicts.
-
They never, ever address player concerns (and when they do, its in that soothing voice telling us 'Hey no problem dude, you can always buy it in the store') or answer criticism over an unpopular update. EVER. I don't believe I've seen worst communication to the player base anywhere than what Alternativa does.
-
See it that way, they succeeded driving the complaining off the Hornet problem.
-
They can't, they need to make money with TO to try and develop a couple other games before this one crash in fire. TO is their only cash cow right now, and player base diminishes over time, buyers are likely rarer since most veterans have already a LOT of everything. So the theory that they are out for a cash grab makes plenty of sense, and the tactic is sound (for new players, and rich buyers). Alternativa seems to have a rich history of non-communication with its player base, a practice that clearly shows the lack of interest in player feedback, at least as far as money is involved. Why would complaining change it now? At this point hey just need TO to last long enough to have (another) successful game rolling and bringing in the money they need to endure.
-
Maybe if you're extra lucky you can find it in a container?
-
I am primarily a Shaft player, so yeah the Smoky may seem underwhelming - But while you may not get as many kills, you will participate on many and get some points. Also Smoky is nice for peek-a-boo shooting. People get irritated real fast when you just pop out, get a shot in and hide back, especially when it mess up their aim on top of it. Call me a troll if you will, it makes me smile. The irritated players I mean. ?
-
Smoky with burn/freeze alteration is nasty. Not your everyday turret, but in some situations/maps it works quite well. Now that you can't protect against burn and freeze effects (unless being very lucky with container drop AND using Hunter) everything that burns or freeze you is ridiculously overpowered. Mind you, I have seen a few Vulcan/Hornets the last few games I played and they tend to burn themselves up much faster than they used to. I expect to see less Vulcans when the unwashed crowds finally realize its not as OP as it used to. Until we can (if ever) buy anti-burn alteration in garage/shop, we will see more Smoky with incendiary rounds and that burn Hammer alt. And Firebirds/Freeze OFC. In fact, there is already more Firebird/Freeze Hornets out there already now that we can't defend VS their effects anymore. I said it earlier, if something can be made OP, however temporarily, it will be used but min-maxers out there. Personally, I will do as i always did: Stick to my Hunter and Shaft/Smoky since I started playing and make do. But mark my words, if Alternativa decides to make Hull alterations only available through random containers and we can't get protection against secondary effects unless we get VERY lucky or skew the odds through sheer volume of containers by spending untold amounts of real cash to get them, anything that burns or freeze you are going to be the next Meta.
