I was in a PRO battle earlier, opposition were mostly Smoky with burn alt and Vulcan with incendiary ammo. They just had to hit us once or twice and they could watch us burn while going for the flag. It wasn't even funny. Now, we see a LOT of Hunter and Isida in MM, because of the special missions. Once the weekend is over it will be back to Hornet Online. Likely less Vulcans though, given the loss of afterburn protection. BUT - I predict a lot more Firebirds, Smoky and Hammer with burn alts. Lets rejoice though, for nobody will be wasting a slot against Firebird now, since its is mostly to counter the afterburn effect that made players equip it.

I got to use something to snag Flags, Light Capacitors just doesn't cut it for that job. But when I defend/harasss or play TDM yeah Light Capacitor all the way - Fast reload, fast charge, fast tracking. Not quite the punch to do kills against someone with protections but there are ways around that. I usually finish top 3 in TDM, no Drone using Light Cap. But technique counts, not just gear. Been playing like a madman to get that Moonshot at challenge Tier 33, almost there and will have it today. Confinement helps. ?

I like my mobility, I can reposition and/or flank the opposition, makes them hate me more. I take it as a compliment when a few players start focusing on killing me, or the opposite and go to great lengths to stay out of sight. Of course, when some Hornets get annoyed enough to equip Shaft protections it can can dicey quickly. I either use Rapid-Fire when I run for flags or balls or whatever, and Light Capacitor for everything else. I just realized that I about forgot what it is to use stock Shaft. Will try it tomorrow...

Yeah, I play Hunter Shaft almost exclusively, defensively, midfield and aggressively, depending on map and circumstances. I laugh at Vulcan Hornet too as I one shot them, then OD them when they try to come at me. I laugh less when most of them switch to Shaft protection. Then I just die. Of course, maps and team's abilities to somewhat support each other helps. Works both sides.

Smart, competitive players will jump like a plague of locusts on any alteration and/or combo that can be made OP (they do it already) and use it.

Hornet with Booster drone, liberal use of DD and any high dps (Vulcan/Firebird) turrets should get you under OD 50% of the time. Also, the latest rage seems to be rushing enemy bases and go on spawn killing sprees - 2-3 Hornets will dominate and can win a game by themselves doing this repetitively. Because Hornet OD ignore spawn invulnerability. Enjoy.

Yes, after more gaming and observing, the problem is definitely not Vulcan by itself but Hornet. Hornets with DD swarming spawn points and spawn killing everything in sight is now common. Its not rare to see these Hornets raking 2 to 3 times the kills of everyone else on the map - Mostly due to spawn killing.

Oh, I get being optimal. The point is, when everyone and their sister-cousin use the same combo, it means something is out of whack. ?

Indeed, and its success breeds itself into more of the same. Been playing a few hours today in TDM, sometimes up to half the other team were Vulcans.

Is it me or in since a couple week half of the teams you see in TDM are Vulcan/Hornets with some Vikings mixed in? There's something wrong when over 98 possible Turret/Hull combinations almost over a third of what is the same copycat Turret/Hull. Booster drone doesn't help, means Hornets ignore your Protection half of the match. /rant

I would tend to agree, These last few weeks, there is more and more Vulcan/Hornet (and Viking) combo in matches (often with Booster Drones) and they really tend to dominate. One isn't too bad deal with, because well it's a squishy Hornet, but 2-3 of them in a team will rule a map. Of course, its the most OP combo right now, and we all know what the devs think of balance.

Hi, this is new, It seems I cannot change my Shaft turret's alteration - Every time I try to switch in-game or in garage between matches it resets back to the previous alteration in use. The only workaround I could find was switching alteration, then switching to another turret, then play a match. Otherwise, it reverse back to previous alteration.
