If the person is mature enough, he won't use offensive language. But if a person breaks the rules, what should we do? Let him know about the game rules. This is the fist part - educating. And this is not only moderators' job, but ours too. Saying "go and read the rules" won't be helpful. We need to give him the link. If the violation is repeated, they either get warned or banned (depending of how serious the violation is). If the same thing happens again, they get a longer ban. This is the second part - punishing. If the violation is serious, like sabotaging, multing, offensive bahavior, etc. and is repeated over and over again, they get a forever ban. Now, let's take the first step together. We must let them know about the rules ;)

I do agree that some players won't listen because of immaturity, but this will only happen for a day or two. We won't be telling them "go and read the rules", instead, we'll be telling "here's the link to the game rules". You get the difference? Players educating players is way better than moderators banning players. When they get unbanned, they'll continue their "job", so it's better to start from scratch, by showing them where they can read the rules and helping them avoid bans and enjoy the game ;)

Yeah, educating. When there's a person who uses bad language in chat, you go and say him "Read the rules". Will he? No. Never. Instead, banning would help, because he wouldn't do the same thing twice.

I almost did the same thing. Gave the flag to my teammate and left the battle because I didn't want to get exp. But he capped before I left. Too lucky I didn't get many points so I didn't rank up. Whew. Only need 70 exp to rank >>
