Definitely agree. Thanks to Matchmaking randomness, attacking teams are typically not ready to stand a chance at overcoming the foe team's strong defense. While there are those well-functioning teams with "Pro" players that can blow past the defense and score flags constantly, it's more common to find random blokes getting themselves stuck in a perpetual cycle of 1) randomly running to the defenders' base, 2) dying, 3) respawning, and 4) do it all again. In addition to your idea of putting the defenders' base towards the center of maps, I would propose buffing the reward for capping flags in ASL from 5 points to maybe 7 or 10 points. That way, big enough holes in the defense can actually be more punishing for the defending team, giving the attacking team a better chance at winning.

It certainly wouldn't hurt, especially if it means getting extra crystals. Although, based on DaringDeer's Container Project data, I reckon that the average player would have to be quite lucky to win legitimately valuable stuff (like a Turret/Hull Augment for their main equipment) from those 11 containers.

Looks like we have another item to add to the "Tanki lacking logic" list. Whoever coded the tracking system for the Special Missions needs a serious reflection, unless this was a deliberate move by Tanki to keep players playing and bump up those sagging player counts. Then again, considering Tanki's previous letdowns like the Black Friday Container rainfall glitch as well as nearly messing up the Yin Yang War with a discrepancy in the Yin Yang Website, I suppose this is just par for the course.

Did you actually go to the Special Missions page on HTML5 Tanki before getting today's kills? I ask because I suspect that the system won't record Special Missions progress if you neglect looking at that page. I mean, this is certainly the case for daily Special Missions, but the Juggernaut mission lasts the entirety of the Birthday event, so I don't know what's going on. Maybe the system legit glitched. Whatever the case, I find this requirement to be bad design meant to get players to go and play HTML5 Tanki.

Btw, any opinions on the Trickster drone? Based on its description, it looks like a cheaper alternative to the Hyperion drone, provided you activate Speed Boost first.

Based on your description of Engineer, I feel as though Engineer would've thrived in the old Repair Kit metagame (before the July 12 2017 patch) when Repair Kits would keep healing no matter what. I mean, 5-7 seconds (depending on Engineer's level) of uninterrupted RK healing? That would've been a difference maker back then. For the modern meta, though, I think it would be fine if the devs reworked Engineer's shared repair effect so that it only lasts the standard 3 seconds and no more, similar to how Mechanic's own shared repair effect works.

Finally got the Remote Rocket Explosive augment today during the Birthday sales. So far, I'm loving the augment as it allows me to be more creative with my rocket shots. With just stock Striker, I had to focus on aiming consistency to be able to deal significant enough damage. While different map terrains and objects as well as differences in height would challenge my success with Striker, it was nevertheless satisfying to achieve near-perfect timing and great prediction skills with my shots that resulted in some cool-looking kills on occasion. Now with RRE on hand, I can be more flexible with my aiming, which will definitely came in handy when I need to eliminate high priority targets like enemy flag holders. And since most tankers don't usually expect to face RRE Strikers, I'll definitely have some element of surprise against them. Oh, the possibilities and the rockets!

The Event Bundle did not give me 111 ultra containers
N3tralRE replied to iplayatankonline in Archive
@iplayatankonline You could try contacting Tanki support (their email is help@tankionline.com) and maybe convince them to provide some form of compensation for your recent troubles. I personally doubt it will move them, though, since you don't seem to have conclusive evidence that your Ultra Container discrepancy occurred. Which is why I would recommend screen recording your purchases, container amounts, and container openings to keep track of your own actions. -
Well, well, well. Looks like my prediction on Crisis' meta-changing OPness was correct.
-
Personally, I'm all for an experiment to test Ultra Containers' probabilities using Normal Containers as the control group. [Statistics stuff incoming] At several significance levels, we can then see whether differences between Ultra and Normal Container probabilities are within, by statisticians' convention, two standard deviations away from the expected probabilities. Practically speaking, though, that would require getting buyers on board to gather enough data. Plus, in my opinion, any Ultra Container openings should be done by non-YouTubers, since I suspect that Tanki YouTubers are given better odds for the sake of advertising and promoting Ultra Containers.

Ugh...all I did was click the page as I was thinking and it sent my wish before I could write anything on it. Although, it'd be hilarious if I ended up winning one of the giveaway prizes somehow. Won't put my hopes up, though, since Tanki could just dismiss all the empty wishes from being entered in the giveaway.

Speaking of Engineer, I've been wondering: suppose two friends decide to play on the same team in MMS battles, with one of them having Engineer and the other having a "Collect 10 Speed Boosts" mission. If the Engineer user picks up and shares a Speed Boost with teammates, does the other friend getting the Speed Boost effect count towards their "Collect" mission?

What Is Your Opinion About the Current State of Tanki Online?
N3tralRE replied to Maf in Game Discussion
Probably need to bump that surprise gift up to 30 weekly containers. Regardless, if Tanki's state over the past year has told me anything, the gifts of premium and weekly containers will merely distract the playerbase from their disappointment in Tanki. Once those gifts have run their course, and Tanki doesn't deviate from its trends, then expect more unrest in future. -
@Tokamak Personally, I have a suspicion that Crisis is going to be relatively strong in its own right. I mean, does Crisis' DD boost have a very short time span akin to Booster's DD boost? If not, then I can see Crisis as an alternative Booster, providing a weaker but longer-lasting DD boost. Plus, I reckon Crisis' Super Speed Boost will quicken the metagame, further punishing any lapses in judgment and other misplays that result in flag captures, rugby touchdowns, etc. Oh sure, a Crisis user can only activate one supply and nothing else, but when paired with a Supplier drone user, then that Crisis user will surely be prepared to wreak some extra havoc. On one hand, Tanki could go full lolTanki and make Crisis a meh drone whose benefits don't outweigh its considerable supply costs. On the other hand, I suspect Tanki will release Crisis with relatively strong effects to "spice up" the metagame and validate power-worshipping in Tanki.

Why was I placed in the Defending team in 9 assault battles in a row?
N3tralRE replied to NoDestroyWithTurret in Archive
@NoDestroyWithTurret I'd say it's just luck. Personally, I'd LOVE to be in your shoes playing defense in ASL all day long...except in the Iran map. Typically, though, I would be placed on the attacking team once or twice – never more than three times – before landing on the defending team. -
Totally agree. Anyways, based on your description, the only reason I can think of as to why your caught Gold Box did not count towards the <<Evolution of Confidence>> mission is that...I dunno, something absurd like Tanki requiring players to scroll down and look at the daily Lockdown Missions for the system to start tracking progress. Still pretty absurd, if you ask me.
-
@JoyRide Did you look at the HTML5 Special Missions page before you caught that gold? I ask because when my points weren't being counted for Day 2's <<F2P>> mission (y'know, the Score 10000 points mission), Tanki Support said I didn't look at that Special Missions page before earning points that day. If you ask me, that's a dumb condition to have for the daily Lockdown 3.0 Special Missions.

@wolverine848 I believe ghost-guns is basing his conclusion on AV Gamers' video where a fan model of Ares is used. Should the real Ares be released with the same behavior as in the video, then I reckon it'd be like opening Pandora's Box as the devs will surely be tempted to make Light and Medium flying hulls with more maneuverability than the current hulls.
-
And before you ask, no, I didn't play any PRO battles at all. On the contrary, all of my battles were MatchMaking battles.
-
For some reason, most of the points I've earned since the last restart (as of posting this) haven't been counted towards my progress for the F2P mission. I've already e-mailed help@tankionline.com about this issue, though I would appreciate if Marcus or the other moderators would tell the relevant TO staff to check for my email.

That's what I thought too. However, DieselPlatinum and TheCongoSpider mentioned that you can still burn foes with heat immunity AND Incendiary Band equipped. Mirza7 will gladly explain how this makes sense. Personally, though, I don't care about the logic in a game whose Drones have the WORST battery life and Overdrives with whimsical effects.
-
Don't you need to overheat to burn enemies with incendiary band, though? If you have heat immunity, you CAN'T overheat, so Incendiary Band can't burn any enemies. That being said, Heat Immunity does give all Vulcans essentially infinite firing time, just like Twins but with longer range.

I suppose I should have said "saleh255 would rather go down fighting OR die trying" instead. Anyways, yes, EMP's don't mean automatic death. It's just that you're more vulnerable after getting caught by the EMP, which I reckon saleh255 doesn't like. Plus, you or your teammates won't always have an OD to save you when you get stunned by the EMP.
-
I'm gonna guess that the "unfair" part of Hunter's OD is the fact that you get cruelly punished by the Hunter for getting caught by the EMP. Facing either Hornet or Viking's OD's head-on, you get killed right away. Getting stunned by the EMP, however, allows the Hunter to do as it pleases while you can't do anything. In short, saleh255 would rather die fighting than to be tortured for a few seconds by a Hunter.

@DOUBLE-6 What are your thoughts on making every Overdrive Dictator's Overdrive? Because once upon a time, every player had the same Full-Supplies Overdrive (minus the freezing effect), no matter the hull. Personally, I wouldn't mind playing that metagame, as it would mean no OP Hornets, no Berserk Vikings, etc. etc.
