How many players have gauss modules active? I don't, and I've been killed in 1 shot by stock gauss as a result. Vulcan/Rico/Hammer/Rail are more of an issue tbh.Point is, many won't have any protection against gauss. 3-5 snipes, dunno how many for a stock gauss, but 3-5 with this alt is a little disappointing. Against Titan's o/d it's useless. I've blatted away at a heavy and it's logged 290 damage per shot with DD. I would add, I think the splash damage is much more devastating/useful and I think that may well get nerfed.

I've had a few days with it now, and I have mixed feelings about it. Faster reload's nice but reduced damage of the alt is noticeable... been up against normal Gausses and still lost. You may need 2 shots for a Viking/Gauss, but he only needs one. Forget second snipe, reload too long & arcade second shot's quicker than waiting for reload and often works. What I am noticing is 1st shot targets sit there not moving (shocked?) maybe that'll wear off when the alt isn't a new encounter. Heavy hulls taking 3-5(!) shots to kill. Splash damage great fun esp on Assault maps where hulls group together, worst thing they can do. The downside is it's hated so once you use it, the other team WILL cross the map to find you, so you have to keep relocating. Not a problem for snipers, but as a melee weapon it sucks.

Ooh, the natives def no happy with this. Just tried it out on two Assault battles. The first I got a few good kills and the second I killed 7/died 7 (and came last) but four times in that battle I got actively targeted and pushed at a wall (like we do with mults) and shoved off a ramp. Fair to say this alt isn't liked.... if you're on the other end of the barrell.? edit: Haven't really noticed much change from the user end vis wrecking the victim's supplies, the faster reload is nice, but would've preferred a faster aiming time, as that 2-second lock-on is normally what this thing gets me killed for. Forever getting killed while waiting for the lock to wake up.

It's not about "who is more likely to die from it" and you specifically said "It is not supposed to be harmful for under 50 year olds." 0.4% + 0.2% + 0.2% + 0.2% = 0.10% of 72,314 confirmed cases by the Chinese CDC on 17th February = 72 very dead people under 50 who may disagree vehemently with you that coronavirus "wasn't harmful" in any way at all to them. True, the under 50's aren't the biggest mortality rate group, but that's of no comfort to those under 50 it has killed. Anyway, you do you. At least one doctor in China in his thirties died from it. In the UK our youngest death was 45. To say it's not supposed to be harmful to the under 50s is obviously incorrect. It is thought that children aren't affected by it enough to be fatal, but they can be superspreaders infecting others to whom it is fatal. By all accounts, respiratory overload and multi-organ failure. Just getting to hospital and going on either a ventilator or ECMO machine doesn't guarantee survival.
