At the beginning of this year, I promised myself that I wouldn’t return to Tanki as it was a childish thing to do. Yet here I am, writing this piece towards the end of the year, and I could not be happier that I did return. I finally managed to get my dream combo with a whole bunch of other equipment. The rekindle-ment (yes, that's a made-up word. no, I refuse to change it) Without a doubt, the biggest reason for my return was to become a reporter. Having tried and failed around 4-6 times (yes, I lost count of how many times I’ve tried), my motivation was and still is, greater than ever to become a reporter. Upon hearing from Flexoo that I couldn’t be accepted as a reporter since I was inactive, I took it upon myself to play Tanki, even if only to complete my missions. One thing led to another, and before I knew it, I was addicted to Tanki again. What I did In a nutshell, Bought stuff, ranked up and learned a lot. The highlights of the year were probably my purchases. Ranking up was pretty good too, as was learning from players and that was primarily filled with reading and re-reading guides to turrets, such as The Ultimate Guide to Magnum. Purchases: the Destroyer kit (shop), the Medic kit (garage), Dictator m3, Magnum m3 and Thunder m3. Turrets Isida M3: The doc, the vampire. This turret has many names. After getting it, I soon decided to call it the “exp god,” for its unique compatibility with no-lifers getting exp really fast. Paired with my Viking m3, I had a formidable combo, and finally a turret which could take high ranked enemies and help me rack up kills on the leaderboard. Other than that, playing doctor with this turret was quite entertaining and also profitable. Twins M3: This turret also came with the infamous destroyer kit, and after using it, I could relate to why this turret is used so frequently by brigadiers and legends alike. The damage on this thing is crazy. With drugs, a stock model can put out a whopping 340 damage per hit, so a total of 680 damage points against an opponent without a protection module and double armor. Suddenly, it felt like I could fight against the legends who had once been almost omnipotent to me. I could even rise to the top of the leaderboard and get a place amongst legends. Thunder M3: Among my recent purchases, I absolutely love this turret. Granted that there are a lot of protection modules against this turret, it still packs quite a punch, dishing out a potent 1400-1600 damage with Double Power against enemies lacking double armor and Thunder protection modules. Ever since I started using this turret, I’ve been quite hesitant to go back to my Twins. In a normal game, I generally manage to secure myself a decent position, a whole lot of kills and a hefty amount of crystals. The appeal of this turret is perhaps that it requires skill to use and that just relying on supplies won’t cut it. Without even thinking twice, I think I can safely say that this is tied with Twins for my favorite turret purchase of the year. Magnum M3: I picked this overpowered turret just to see why everyone liked it so much. After purchasing it, I also realized something crucial. That anyone who is great at using this turret really is quite skilled. I try to use this turret a lot, but more often than not, I find myself rage-changing to a different turret, simply because I struggle to use it properly. All this is not to say that it isn’t a great turret; it is, but I simply can’t use it to its full potential like I can use Twins or Thunder. Hulls Viking M3: In general opinion, Viking is considered to be the hull with everything in balance. One way to look at this is that Viking lacks armor like a Mammoth and speed like a Wasp. The other way to look at it is that it excels in everything. After seeing so many Viking M3 combos, I really badly wanted to get my hands on this hull. After acquiring it with the Medic kit, it quickly became my favorite hull, to the extent where my Hornet began to collect dust in my garage. It is sufficient enough to say, this was perhaps my favorite purchase of the year. Viking really is an amazing hull, capable of being successful with virtually any turret. Love it. Dictator M3: I bought this hull primarily because of how well it served me during the m1 stage. I quite liked the way it looks too, but more than just it’s synergy with Thunder, this hull is iconic to me because of the way I got it. I was on a trip where I wasn’t supposed to use technology of any form, let alone wifi. So what do I do as a Tanki enthusiast? (read: addict). I sneakily hop onto a computer after paying a small price and make this purchase. Shortly thereafter, the chaperones of the trip confront me, and luckily I had my email open, so I did what any honest person would. I told them that I was just sending an email. Getting into a little bit of trouble was totally worth it for this amazing hull, especially during gold when the power of this beast really comes alive. Mammoth M3: for some reason, most people don’t like this hull much. Nevertheless, this hull has the highest armor of any hull in the game, so the lack of speed is more than compensated for. I generally paired mammoth with twins, which worked well. Other than that, this hull is quite useful if you want to make your enemies fear you. I'm not kidding when I tell you that people just quit the match as soon as they see me strutting around my Mammoth and Twins. All in all, this hull really shows how powerful a heavy hull can be. Protection modules Shark T-D M3: I can’t even stress the usefulness of this one. Without it, I would be at the mercy of Thunders, Twins, and Vulcans. Other than the fact that Thunder and Twins are two of the most commonly sighted turrets, the fact that I have this module also means that self-damage is far less irritating for both my Thunder and Twins. Badger T-A M3: Another fantastic module. This one lends you the ability to make Firebirds, Freezes, and Hammers laughable. To some people, the aforementioned turrets might be nothing, but I found more often than I’d like to admit, that these turrets crushed me in Island, Hill, and Polygon. After getting my hands on this via the destroyer, I was pretty stoked. I don’t use it much for now because there are seldom any good matches in island or hill, however it still remains one of the best CQB modules in Tanki. Paints Cherry: With this paint, my desire for a good-looking high-rank paint was finally fulfilled. Many would argue that it is quite worthless, but what’s fun and dominating battles without elegance? Lumberjack: Yes, I know. The tablecloth paint. This one rarely finds its way on my tank, except if I’m trying to show off about the fact that I bought the destroyer kit. The future: Definitely uncertain. I have little to no idea what I plan to get or upgrade in the future. Regardless, my ever-growing need for crystals should keep me prepared for any upcoming sales.

I'd say hammer, even though I don't have it. Here's the thing about Rail. Most players have Prodigi LGC, so that means that it is hard to kill them in regular matches anyway. Then, remember that most of your enemies will be m4 druggers wearing prodigi. I'm not done yet. Then there's the whole problem of you having only m2 rail. The only time Rail will be useful, will be in xp/bp games, which are usually full. Go with hammer; if anything, at least you can do well with it. Try to get viking or a medium hull m2, or else it will be hard to do well. I don't mean to be rude/impolite, but you realize that your statement is slightly hypocritical, in that you have 927 hours with Shaft, Just saying.
