Enabling mouse-control should let you move sideways without rotating the hull by pressing A, D, <Left Arrow Key>, <Right Arrow Key>. Rotating the hull will need the mouse. When you disable mouse control, Ares moves like any other tank. Then you can't move sideways without rotating hull. This, I feel, is a big disadvantage... :C On the Test Server (when Ares was available for testing), "Z", "X" could be used for rotating the hull, which was nice...

What happens if I Vote a player for violation on the Test Server?

While I agree that for high ranks it's cheaper to buy the highest modification available rather than buying each modification separately, but in case one doesn't have the required crystals to buy the higher modification, then you might have to wait a very long time to save so many crystals and then buy the hull/turret/module. I didn't have enough crystals to buy Gauss M1 (which was available for my rank back when Gauss was released), and there was no way I could buy Gauss M0. So I would potentially never have Gauss! But after the M--->Mk update, Gauss Mk1 became available. Then I finally had Gauss in my garage. So there should be an option to buy Mk1, or the modification available for your rank. That is the best option imo. What exactly is "strafing"? Yes, it is supposed to move sideways.

Bro, that's how a hovercraft-like hull is supposed to move! Ares will require restructuring the way you use the keyboard and maybe even the mouse. You may be a pro with normal hulls, but Ares is no normal hull! You need to get used to the extra drift, the sliding down from slopes (and falling off buildings initially lol, coz the fans/propellers stop if there is nothing solid underneath them for an extended period of time, or so it seemed when I tried it on the Test Server)... Many people (including me) like how Ares looks... It's a new hull, and we will need to adapt. Never judge a book by its cover... Wait for a few months, try the new hull out, explore possibilities, and then give feedback. It'll benefit everyone. Hopefully you understand my point, and I don't intend to offend you. ?

First of all, though the contest's idea was excellent, it could have been executed much better. I'm no web-designer, but I'm sure there are ways to avoid the problems that we faced in this contest. There should have been NO complaints of partiality ("Russians had a better chance"; "People who're close to mods did better"; etc.)! That's how properly the contest of this magnitude should have been designed! Slow loading of pages because many people were viewing the website should've been addressed before the contest. Instead of the winner being the "fastest", there should've been some other criterion. Those having better internet are clearly at an advantage. This point might be a bit controversial, but I really think that being the fastest on the internet is really a matter of good internet (and of course, to a considerable extent, how fast you can click). However, as I've mentioned before, I liked the idea of the contest very much. Searching the puzzle-pieces across the different announcements is great! EDIT: Also consider time-zones! : )
