Would not really help, in my opinion. As a new player you should upgrade brutus and use it until you can afford one of the meta drones. making the rest cheaper would not make it reasonable to use them anyway (with some exceptions, of course).

I really dislike the freezing/heating rate decreases, as if they were not already meager enough. The very point of these turrets - burning/freezing has become an obscure niche nobody even use them for anymore.

If your only gratification from playing this game is ranking up and getting a "reward" for that, while everything beside is but an utter pain and anguish for you, then yeah, that might not be the most favourable way of spending your time.
