it's already hard to keep the minefields and after grenades go in it will be super hard to keep the minefield, in this case the mines should not disappear after killing, otherwise they may become useless the advantage of some cannons e.g. tesla is that they can attack from around the corner, and with grenades all cannons will get this feat, which is probably against the assumptions of the towers, tesla will lose its charm and capabilities
