    Risky upgrades ??

While I read for the expected new features of Tanki 2.0 I stumbled upon this - Risky upgrades! At the first moment I was very fascinated that I can upgrade weapons and armor I like, beyond their M2-M3 prefixed values, but later I more and more realized that risky upgrades, as I understand them, are not easy straightforward things to implement. In practice it is a customization of everything, and that customization will have heavy impact on upgrade procedure on the first place and on the battle runtime calculations (armor, paint protection, firepower, speed, turn speed, etc.) on the second place. So I like to hear about, if possible, the answers for the next very first questions, that pop at my mind: Q1. What is a risky upgrade like? Q2. What are the risky upgrade targets - armor, turret, paint? Q3. What are the target parameters that can be upgraded? All at the same time or explicitly selectable? Q4. Is there a count limit of risky upgrades that can be applied to one and the same target of upgrade? Q5. Does the failure to a risky upgrade refer to the last risky upgrade attempt only, or to all cumulative risky upgrades made so far? Q6. Can a risky upgrade be applied to any M0 thru M3 level of targets? Q7. What happens to a risky upgrade, after one applies regular and higher prefixed M-level upgrade? Q8. What is the price cost matrix in regard of upgrade targets and their current M-level? Q9. What is the probability success trend in down-falling percentage? Q10. What is the risky upgrade target/parameters improvement scale in percentage? So, any answers?

    Weakest Tier 2 weapon?

    1. There are no weak Tier 2 weapons, there are weak players. 2. Every Tier 2 weapon has its optimal usage and pitfalls in regard to the map topology. I'm so surprised that Rico is unjustly voted as the weakest unanimously. At mid-range and 50% of the cases at close-range battles Thunder and Freeze are no match for Ricochet. Rico is the strongest, and yet the weakest weapon at unexperienced hands. I've played against many having Rico, yet I have not met a Master of it. It is simple to judge - if you have a fast tank - M2, M3 Hornet, or M3 Dict/Viking, and easily succeed to evade the hits of a Rico, then you've faced an unexperienced enemy with Rico. The keys to the Mastery of the art of Rico are - predictive fire and hit delay handling. In other words - one has to anticipate ahead where the enemy position would be after 1-2 secs, when the fireball hits. The rapid fire, if precise, of Rico is just deadly - 240 damage in 8 secs.

    Upgradable single protection paints

As tanki 2.0 release approaches and all paints will be obsolete in regard of the rumored Shaft gun, I have an idea - upgradeable single protection "sinprot" paints. Thats it - combine one protection only with the M0-M1-M2-M3 upgrade schema of upgrades for armor and turrets. Currently there are 3 sinprot paints - Dirty (Firebird protection), Swamp(Twins protection), Carbon(Smoky protection). Why not make paint protections against the rest of the guns? I would like to see sinprot protection against the rest corresponding weapons Proposed protection value of a sinprot for levels: M0=10%, M1=25%, M2=40%, M3=60%. Pros: - strong at M2-M3 level against the corresponding weapon - the paints never become obsolete in regard of new guns - will bring diversity at gameplay - players can combine different protections as a team for maximum offense / defense effect - to the usage of all types of guns will be given rebirth again - for example Firebird M3 + M3 sinprot "antifreeze" can successfully attack M3 Freezes, M3 Smoky + M3 sinprot "antithunder" can take down M3 Thunders. Cons: - mighty marshals and high officers ranks may go pissed with their half-degraded firepower :) The cost for upgrades I leave to the developers.

    Points for a kill.....

Yes, but for team killers (TK) only. I've played battles with friendly fire, were players kill deliberately on purpose teammates in order to steal the flag they carry and capture it by themselves, so they can move up at the score list for crystals. Others kill teammates to help the enemy team, or just for pleasure. So mean and nasty and disgusting. People, have you ever heard of fair play? I propose for each TK, a penalty decrease of points directly on player rank (not for the specific game at the moment, as the violator may leave the game just before the end) and equal to the point count sum of 10 enemy kills!

Will mouse and/or keyboard customization be available?

I am just curious if there will be the possibility to drive the tank using the mouse at Tanki ver 2.0 ? Binding of keys to mouse buttons? Or at least the ability to customize the keys for the keyboard for different actions, and bound to the player profile preferences ? I've played other much or less similar tanks games, and to be honest, I find the mouse driven rotation + shooting for the turret in addition to WASD + QE movement bound keys much more convenient.

Damage of guns in secs and shots

The calculation of damage is based on the average value of min and max power parameters for the gun. Accumulative damage is calculated per time and shots. The time calculation interval is set to 0.20 secs. Some values may seem little weird, because they do not fit their reload divisor time at the worksheet incremental interval, but are practically correct as calculations. Anyway, precision is just enough for anyone to get comparison done. The calculations are done for the first 15 secs that really do matter. Color has been added in correspondence of the M3 armor level. The sheet exported as HTML or PDF Update: Paint protection efficiency as HTML against some weapons.

Smoky XT - new gun in Tanki Online

Yeah, you are right, and combined with double power, the unfortunate Mammoth M3 is gone with 3 shots in 3.2 secs

    Air support [idea]

You are all so old-fashioned... I would add disrupters , antimatter torpedoes, shield capacitors, black hole generators and quantum detonators.

Smoky XT - new gun in Tanki Online

My dream gun - Smoky M4 - better than Thunder M3 or Ricochet M3 !! I don't mind if it costs even 14000 crystals and I'll go definitely for it were permanent at the game. But just for 7 days !? Common devs, don't be so greedy for instant money.

Do you ram into tanks at close range?

If the enemy has a Thunder and is close, my tactic is always RAM! If I don't succeed to kill the enemy first, then the Thunder's splash damage suicides the enemy 80% of the time. Lately I see players with Thunders, who have understood this disadvantage of the Thunder gun at close range, and when I go on a crush course to them, then run like hell. But I'm faster ...

    Bots at the game

Seeing is believing, I'm really sorry I have not made video of it. "Players" playing weirdly. They don't bother to help/fight near their own flags by enemy capture, just pass by neutrally and slowly near a fight, and not shooting at all. Like ghosts. When fired at, don't return to fire ?! This is another story. What I've seen: The front path for the "player" is blocked, the turret pointing at the same front direction, the "player" is next to bumping at armor contact into the enemy- still don't bother to shoot. Has Twins, what the hell ?! It is about the captured flag of the enemy, which a team human player fetches back to our base, the player is killed on its way to our base, flag drops, and the "other player" - the bot, is alone and close to the flag, 1-2 tank lengths, in front of him, and still bypasses slowly it in a hazy direction ?! Please ? I also leave crystals to others, but these "players" simply don't change direction, even when they are wounded they bypass healing crates in addition to crystals. And these "players" are low rank sergeants in a game at which warrent and high officers are 60% of the players. This is weird! Why not? Bots logistics and behavior at games is around 15 years old, chatting also is a piece of cake to tweak. One dictionary of common talk phrases and the BOT can be indistinguishable in short talks.

    Bots at the game

Game was running at smooth speed, no lags. No Invisibles either. But there is a chance you may be right about: Or things might be even simpler: It may be a double account scenario. And it seems plausible for the show I've witnessed. I guess a group of friends decides to join a game. They choose the side and each activates his/her other "dummy" and undeveloped player account on the enemy side. From time to time they "tap" the dummy to alive it, hence this weird "player" behavior. Thus they always win. Easy kills and superiority is guaranteed. Hmm, not good ...

    Bots at the game

If I were you I would not bet on that. I know what I've seen, and I've seen similar behavior of bots on other FPS games. However the Tanki's own implementation of Bots is just terrible.

    Bots at the game

I'm very serious. I've played many FPS games and I can definitely tell the difference between human and bot players. Many times I've seen styles of play that a normal, even the lousiest-lamer-moron player would not play: - "Players" only moving aimlessly and slowly through the battlefield, as if they are on excursion; - "Players" not shooting at the enemy in front of them, despite they have continuous weapons - Twins for example; - "Players" that do not care to capture the dropped flag, after the carrier is killed, they just bypass it as if it does not exist; - "Players" that do not turn 15-20 degrees of their way to capture even crystals and crates at one virtual tank length if front of them! Now I come pissed off of a game, where 3 (three, THREE!) "players" of our team were just as described! At least mark the bot players at the TAB list of the game with some special mark! These bots at Tanki are terrible implementation and jeopardy of the game! I'm really disgusted! Tanki, WHY ?

    Freeze, overpowered?

And how do you imagine the True and Only one strategy with Tier 2 weapons at CTF games? Thunders everywhere with few exceptions of 1.5 Tier Isidas, "because Freezes ruin my camping fun"? How will you ever capture a flag at a mid-range map if you encounter enemy Mammoth fatso "laying eggs" at the flag? Freezes are the best attackers then - getting the camper by surprise, as Freezes mostly use the fast Hornet M3 armor, get the flag, freeze without kill not to be fired back and escape. And I second the statement from someone above - more than 90% of the time players with Freezes attack, in contrast with the Thunder campers that prefer to snipe and do splash damage from far, the latter being "top strategists that don't want get their hands dirty at the boiling middle of a fight". Just the opposite of your statement - Freezes enhance the strategy at the game, and the Freeze gun parameters are justified!
  18. Mokpama_rapra

    Freeze, overpowered?

No, no tweaks for Freeze and lowering the power. If you are desperate - call for help from a teammate with a Firebird to unfreeze you :D Yeah, the Firebird and Freeze mutually must nullify their action, thus putting the useless at higher levels Firebird back in action - thoughts for the developers to consider.

    Best Power-Up you use

Nitro is my favorite, because I like to ... fly over terrain, hehe. But drugging gets irritating recently at games, especially for the triple drugging. Several times I've already encountered entire teams triple drugged, jeopardizing the fun of the game! I guess with time it will get still worse, as at the high officer levels the players naturally lose their goals for weapons, armor and paints, and spend their crystals only for drugging. The only remedy I see is an introduction of a drug side-effect as it is at the real life. OK - no problem for anyone to boost double armor, speed or firepower for a minute, BUT at the next consecutive minute that player should "suffer" for a minute the half value of armor, speed or firepower, as all drug addicts naturally do at real life, hehe :D

    What to buy

From my experience - Titan is the worst choice thru all available armors one can buy, because of its slow speed. On the other side the Dictator is the "golden middle way" and compromise for the best armor at the best speed at the the best lower costs for upgrade to M3 level. The choice, however, is yours.

    thunder vs. freeze

Definitely Freeze is better over Thunder at close and end even mid-range combat, provided that Freeze has a path way access to where Thunder is camping. As I stated in another post, to me Thunder is an abysmal failure. Only at long range combat Thunder is a superior weapon. Moreover I had countless time of fun at mid-range combat with Smoky against Thunder, rendering the Thunder ludicrous. Thunder with its splash damage is a double edge weapon - if you don't believe it - just stick close to the Thunder gun, and will be pleasantly surprised. :P

    Question about garage ....~

I guess I restart then and play 2.0 up to officer level once more. I really miss the Smoky gun now and the greatest fun I had was with Smoky - rapid fire at unlimited range. Now at officer levels and up Smoky is underpowered and obsolete. It's a pity that there are no M4 M5 etc. upgrades for Smoky.
