If you could choose whether to buy the crystal card or not, the purpose of getting it would be useless anyway. I mean, why choose to get a crystal card or not... ofcourse every buyer would get the crystal card first. This would basically mean, that the game will become twice as cheap. Now I bet that's definitely not going to happen.

That's one of the main reasons I hate vacuum cleaner.
