I took that picture a few months ago, I don't play it, but I have a really old account :D Why not? If there is a cooking community, they probably all know each other. Just as I know most peoples names from the creativity forum because I frequent that the most. Say a group of people have been on that forum for a very long time and they are very good friends. They go on the forum everyday and talk about food and cooking. Now, why should they be revoked the right to be friends? To talk about space?! Say one of the friends has just started to do Astronomy or Astrology (I never know the difference), they want to talk about space. But here, I'm trying to be friendly asking the community who wants to play Dota 2 with me, shouldn't I be allowed to do that? You say this topic is enough for talking about other games? My friend, in in a lot of forums, the "other games" section is the most frequented section of the forum. This topic would turn into a house of spam and confusion! Your latest statement is basically banishing people. If you want to talk about space, get out of here! Go someplace else! (This refers to the cooking forum example) No, I want to talk about space with that group of friends I've been part of a community with for a long time! And sure, others are welcome to join. Tanki Online Forum isn't the only forum I've used, I've met some great people on other forums. But the Tanki Online Forum is unique, I've never seen this kind of disagreement. The mods and admins are here to help, so please help. Props to you for making this thread. But common, I could've made this thread a long time ago, a single topic isn't what we are looking for. Why can't we come to an agreement? I see no trouble in making a "Other Games" section on the forums, and I'm damn right sure that I'm not the only one. If you completely disagree with me, I don't know what can change your mind and we should probably just stop the conversation here. Thank you for your attention, I appreciate it. Can I just say how stupid this is. Holy crap, this forum is just terrible! You have a specific topic for "other games"?! I have previously created topics of other games (Dota 2 & Cookie Clicker). Which, of course, led to either a ban or just simply to closure of the thread. I had the knowledge that it wasn't allowed but it's so ridiculous that I didn't care. Let me put this in perspective for those who don't understand. (If you ban me or block those links then that is just low, and it really says a lot on how stupid the rules and authorities are) (REMEMBER: No one has to click on those links! If anything I trust those sites more than I trust Tanki Online) removed Ok, those are just a few examples I thought of to show what I mean. No one else is preventing discussion of other games, they accept it. Let me define what a forum is. The official definition is "A place, meeting, or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged", also "A public meeting place for open discussions". So we can all agree that in a forum discussions should take place. But, as we all know, it has evolved to a much bigger extent. A great example of this is the creativity section. I love that part of the forum! There is little to no presence of mods there, we can find new and interesting content everyday. It's just wonderful. And guess what, no discussion takes place there. So we can also agree that a forum is not just a place for discussion, it is a community. A forum community, the Tanki Online forum community. Now, I don't frequent forums as much as I used to. But from experience I can say that when you are part of a community, really part of it, you always want what is best for it. This means if a spammer comes along pretty much everyone is going to report him, and when he gets banned we will all feel satisfied. Why am I saying this? I am saying this because I know that there are people here to frequent this forum and they want what's best for it. And it's really sad to see people quit because of what this forum has come to. And it's not because the authorities are unaware of what is going on. The moderators and admins know damn right that the members of this community are unhappy. And we all just want what's best, we aren't against the authorities. We are against the wrong actions being taken, the incorrect decisions, we just want what's best. What does this have to do with "Other games". Well it's not that this matter has to do with other games, this topic is an example of the wrong decisions being made. Don't get me wrong, it is an improvement from when we couldn't even mention other games. I wish we could get a show of hands of people that frequent the forums and don't play Tanki Online, because I'm one of those. The last time I really played, not just played because I started going on the forums again, played because I really enjoyed it was beginning of last year. And even then it was because I was playing with a friend, if my friend didn't play I wouldn't even think about playing Tanki. We, the community, also play other games. And I'm sure moderators and admins play too. I could go on and on, but to keep it short I'll end my rant here. A single topic for game discussions is ridiculous and laughable. Think of how cool it would be to have Tanki members playing other games together, sure that's possible now but we should insensitive that, because that is a characteristic of a gaming community. I think, as well as almost every other forums besides Tanki, that a Off Topic section for other games to be discussed is necessary and I hope that this post may have changed someone's mind on what should be done. I hope people agree with me and I thank you for your attention, I know it's not easy and can get quite boring reading my long rants on specific subject matters. Here is a thread I made way back in the day that didn't get closed because it had to do with another game http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=42297&hl, which is just to show that this problem is recent and hasn't been around for too long. actually, I was just experimenting. The original image for that line is this one And then I just started playing with it. I made the image smaller and duplicated it multiple times to create a cool metal boarder, but it didn't look nice so I added a bunch of effects to make it like that :D
