    Yes, I have, not with bruce/sem though, AFAIK bruce doesnt have much to do with maps. I did post it on the official mapmaking forum, but didnt get any replys from anyone who could actually do something. I then got kicked out(of the forum, I re-applied with no success) when the new forum came, so my mapmaking came to a end.

    I dont think so. It says you joined the forum on 17 feb 2012, which is a few YEARS out from the start(and since it got my registering date pretty close, yours should be aswell). Even I(second top so far :)) Only joined 2010, and it had been going for a while then.

    Maybe you missed "made by cheese3000" at the front, but I made it." Its 10 a side for TDM/CTF, and 20 for DM. It shouldnt lag that much, unless you look over the whole map at the same time.

    All of them? The ones at the start of the TTT section are on from the russian forum, so may not be working anymore, The ones at the end of the post should work(yes, I know you have to create a account, sorry, but that was the best site I could find, when the new version comes out I will upload them to another one). If your on the english one, then press "file", "Export tanks map 1.x"(or Ctrl+T) On russian, press "Файл", "Сохранить карту (версия 1.х)". Sorry, I have only made some small changes, I will be doing more sometime soon, and if the new version comes out, I will update it for that.

    Since Friday, March 2010(sometime after 11:40 AM). (I also joined the Ironclads on Saturday, October, 2011, sometime after 5:15 PM)

    I think the idea for ping-pong wasnt bad, but I dont like the map. Updating current maps would be nice, but more then that needs to be done. I would say 2042 is pretty balanced, silence II, possibly, but with most I dont know :blush: I think contest organizers/judgers would be good enough to chose the right maps. Im not saying they are bad, but if they have been sitting there for ages, that probably means there wasnt/isnt much intention of them being used. yep, I remember when ping-pong had 15 players. That was fun, you could fall off if everyone used mammoth, the whole map would be filled, and when you die, you couldnt respawn, because the whole map is covered in mammoths. Agreed, but I can hardly say I know most of the maps, I know the names(of all(ish), and layouts of most, but not all :blush:

    Wiki, whats wrong with his statement? I have no problem with it mainly because I dont play Tanki. But, Tanki definitely doe need more/new maps.

    o_0 Im pretty sure I have played almost all of the maps(apart from on test). Go and check other ones out, you will find some good ones(dont play ping-pong though). @below post: Yep, its not the best map out there...

    meh, obviously need to be more active, never heard of any of these maps your talking about before :wacko:. Maybe Im in-active and am wrong, but arent kungur and tribute played fairly often? +1 I doubt that tanki isnt planning to get more maps into the main server, its just how important is it to them? yay :) Not necessarily, and anyway as I said, the winning map(s) dont need to be used in the game(of course, if they are good, they could be considered, but it shouldnt be definate). I just dont like wave cos it looks bad.

    Agreed, but nothing much seems to be happening :\ And, not much will until the developers decide to add in more maps, since creating maps will do nothing if the developers dont see/do anything about them. I dont think increasing crystal drops in certain maps is a good idea, especially if you remove them after a while. What if, each day/week, 1 map had a increased crystal drop, and that map was auto-created every hour-half hour?(on each server). That would mean the choosen map would be played, and people might become aware of maps they dont play. Not everywhere. There are quite a few maps which adding CP wouldnt work, but yes, CP does need to be on more maps. Well, it is partly props that matter, since a lot of people dont play Iran because of lag, and thats because of the props :P Im hoping when the new props come out they will be adding new maps, but I wont be surprised if we dont see much for a while :/ ...surely adding maps from the test server to the main counts as more maps, and new maps? Also, from what I understood about maps actually being added to the main server, they are accepted to be tested, and then testers/mapmakers test them, and if they like them, they go on main server. Which probably means maps which have been sitting on the test for ages wont be added.

    I think most of the current maps are fine, just some of them need to be removed. Other could also be edited to work with CP better, but I wouldnt say there was that much of a need to re-do the current maps. Sorry, I was saying the reward for a mapmaking contest SHOULDNT be that you map will be used in the game, instead a crystal reward, or something.

    If its only for 1 day a week, its not really worth it. What about having a selection of maps, which each day it changes to a new selection(and some maps would appear more then once)? The map ideas thread was good, but it died out, probably because the ones making maps werent getting much feedback, and after a while, it isnt so interesting. Yeah, I think a contest would be good, but not the reward being your map being used the in game, I know there was a Russian mapmaking contest(couldnt find it though), not sure how that was done. Also, the idea of interactive props... I like it, and I think maybe not having interactive, but moving props might be good, say a platform which moves up/down, so you can get to different parts of the map. Interactive props im not so sure about, the main idea I have heard about is destructible walls, which could ruin game play in some maps. Stuff like opening doors I wouldnt like that much, I think just having moving props which dont react to tanks would be better. Ok LiquidGold, I was just a bit confused for a bit :P

    I think having only certain maps playable might be a good idea, but a lot of people would complain :\ Also, posting your map on the forum will do nothing, just like posting a idea on the forum. There is a forum for mapmakers, but you have to apply to have access to it, and only other mapmakers can see maps you post. I dont think there should be another forum for it, there was a map ideas thread, but thats kinda died. A serious mapmaker needs more then just the players to look at their maps, which is why there is a group for them. Also, most mapmakers arent serious. Mapmaking is more then just having a idea, you have to create it, make it playable, balanced, unique, good looking. You also have to put the drop zones. I have done this, and trust me, its not simple. Getting the right positions and drops is a fairly important part of a map. I think having some kind of contest, which doesnt have to be really high-quality maps would be good, since it would draw attention to mapmaking, and hopefully the more serious people would continue creating maps.

    I like CP, but because of the way its played, most of the maps its on arent that good for it. If maps are made specifically FOR cp, I think a lot more people would play it/them, since you cant get a DM map, and just stick CP on it, you need to have maps where they were made with CP in mind. Also, I got the tri count for props(imported them from TTT into 3DS Max)... 1 building for Dusseldorf is about 80-90 tris, thats the whole building, and it takes quite a bit of space up. The standard wall piece for Iran is 13 tris. A wall in dusseldorf would be 2 tris. Other pieces are 30-80 tris. Now, when you have to make a whole building out of pieces which are 45 tris each(thats not correct, but its close enough), the whole building ends up with a lot of tris. If you then create a whole map out of that, aswell as little details, its going to be a lot of tris, while Dusseldorf ends up with a fairly small amount.

    Splitterpoint, the props for iran are hollow aswell :P Iran works perfectly fine for me(with all settings on), and I dont have a proper gaming computer. Now, I dont play tanki anymore(apart from the random 1 a year game), so this may not be the case, but still. I agree, tanki does need knew maps, but there are still good maps which arent played. I cbb to list maps, but there are maps which are hardly ever played, and should be(also maps which should be removed). Getting new maps will help, and there is always a lot of battles on newly created maps, no-matter if they are good or bad(I remember seeing loads of ping-pong battles, I havent seen one for ages since then though). Silence isnt that bad, but it is used to much. Luckily there are other maps, like kungur which are also played. I think the maps should seriously be re-done, removing all the un-needed ones, and adding new ones. I very seriously doubt there is a lack of (good) people willing to create maps, and they should be used.

    I agree with you, tanki definitely needs new maps. Also, just because the new prop library's are coming doesn't mean anything, we could not get any maps for a while. I dont know what is happening ATM, but from what I have seen(ages ago) some things need to happen. Have mapmaking contests(doesnt even have to have the winning map used, it would just be a good idea), publicize that you can actually make your own maps easily, without having to do much more then download a program, and also get more mapmakers. There are a lot of good mapmakers out there, just nothing happens(AFAIK) about them.(also, totally agree with koolwalky, mapmaking is a art) I used to do a lot of mapmaking, but slowly stopped because even though at one time I actually submitted a map to the developers(and, no it wasnt just on the main forum), nothing happened(not meaning that it was rejected, literally nothing happend). Getting new props is a good start, but more then that needs to be done. The last time we had a new map(not including map changes)(this is from checking the updates, so I might have missed somthing) was labyrinth, which was removed almost instantly, and before that was highways. As I said before, publicize mapmaking. I think the idea of voting is good, but might not work. I have seen a lot of rubbish maps being praised, and a bad map could easily be voted in just because players think it looks better then a good map(a good map should look good, but still).

I am jumping into the conversation here, and possibly this has been discussed before, but I cbb to check the whole thread. I personally think the forum mods do their job pretty well. However, my main problem is the off-topic section. From what ive seen, a lot of topics have been locked for being off-topic(that hasnt been said, but thats the impression I have gotten on several topics). And, there are lots of topics which should have been locked, and arent. Most of the locked topics which I have seen are right to be locked,

    Thanks crash, but I would rather wait until the new version comes out, because soiko did say that there would be changes(If Im remembering right?). And, HeroPlayer, as micah said, as long as you can run the .swf in a browser, or flashplayer, it should work. I will soon check out any differences/new stuff from more recent versions, and update.

    First of all, I have no problem with you creating a guide for AE. But... If you are going to, dont just copy what I did, remove parts, and add a few sentences, that is called plagiarism. Asking me before taking, and using my work would be nice aswell. My guide may be outdated, but most of it still is true, and anything else I could have easily added(well, since its locked, I would have to create a new topic, or get a mod to edit it). Below is what you have changed, in red is what is new, and the green you have moved(the Q & A at the top is the same as mine): I have also sent a PM to crash.

    Hopefully gonna find out how to do that soon hmm..possibly hhh...kinda Main roads would be able to fit 3 tanks(max), and all tunnels apart from the wide ones would be able to fit 1, wide would fit 2 Thanks, and yes I did leave, but I got the new props a while ago, and made a map, and decided to post it.
