Of course you guys are professional and lovely!

It was wrong of me to assume that a moderator had gone rogue. I should have first gotten it clarified from Sarim before jumping to conclusions.

I really do agree that Moderators are wonderful people!

I apologize for my false assumptions.

I think they are bloodthirsty people who wouldn’t ever forget one moment when you put your toe outta the line and would always come chasing after you? Like spamming a leetle bit for instance: ///

I won't confidently assure that if I were you. Let's be honest, moderators, including but not limited to you, are simply ordinary players with a lot of time to kill.

  • You guys are mostly young adults, and properly don't have a full time job. (I mean seriously, no one will bother to be a helper/moderator if he/she has a full time job.)
  • You guys are simply volunteers. You and Alternativa Games have no employment relationship, so if you guys unfortunately got into a civil case, Alternativa Games was not liable to it. In other words, if you got into any troubles, legally speaking Alternativa Games did not have the responsibility to support you. You are on your own.
  • You received no professional trainings. Perhaps you are given a few pages of regulations, and being told how to be a moderator with a few posts and chats but that's about it.

p.s. I noticed they "reward"/"pay" moderators and helpers with crystals, an in-game currency, so that you can spend them in the very own game you are "working" in. It is like you work in McDonald's and they pay you with McDonald's coupons. How sad is that.

lol

Become one and you will see the reality of thing and would not have to speculate about it. It seems like you have lot of time to kill by posting on the forum, sounds like you fit one requirement.

Lost of rewards, crystals, paint, premium and skins. Just some material perks for volunteering and helping the game. There is other perks but it is not like you would be interested in these.

Those are not rocket science. An ordinary person can notice that.

  • Imagine you worked 8 hrs a day (have you even worked in a full time manner?), would you spend 2 - 4 hrs more working without getting pay? Yes, being a helper doesn't require much effort, but effort is effort.
  • The reason the Devs looking for helpers is to reduce the maintenance cost. Why would they spend all the effort and cost to do a proper training? (Do you have any idea how expensive a proper on job training is?)

Taken from https://helper.tankionline.com/position/show/46

  • Excellent environment in which to improve your communicative skills;
  • Perfect opportunity to meet new people;
  • Getting the satisfaction of being able to help people;
  • Learn to work in a group and cooperate with colleagues;
  • Chance to gain experience with making the right judgement calls;
  • A special paint (Ruby) to wear in battles;
  • A small compensation in the form of crystals for the work you do.

So in summary, forum moderators get

  • XP
    • Most helpers are already Legend, do you think XP is actually that big of a deal to them?
    • In-game item
  • Helper paint
    • It is purely subjective of whether you like it or not.
    • In-game item
  • Crystals
    • Some helpers may find it useful.
    • In-game item

So, it is STILL like working in McDonald's while getting paid with McDonald's coupons. Yet, if the helpers are fine with that, that's not a problem.

However, I wouldn't confidently "assure" the moderation team are professional, especially all of them are simply volunteers,  not even unpaid interns.

Well, it requires much effort, you don't even know how much work helpers are doing, mainly admins. Additionally, you don't know what is going on in their lives if they having a full-time job or not. So better know them or what they are doing before judging

@AncientFire I don't think you know enough of what happened and what led up to that. He knew people would respond like you did and try to get everyone to make fun of him.

Here is what happened in summary:

1. Brandorrrr and another user decided to pull a prank on another user where Brandorrrr pretended to admit to a friend that he was hacking in tanki online. He then sent the screenshot to the other user who was going to report him for hacking (part of the prank).

2. The player that they were trying to prank, then thought Brandorrrr hacked the game which was what Brandorrrr and the first guy intended. The player then went on rubbing it in everyone's face.

3. The very next day, one of Brandorrrr's friends, ELECTR0_DRAG0N, then made the situation worse by saying that he was banned for hacking in the past and this just opened a can of worms.

4. Once it got out of control, in the form of fights and arguments that filled up the whole chat. Brandorrrr and the first guy then told the guy that they pranked that it wasn't real and it was staged.

5. The fights and arguments but the entire pro battles channel on thin ice. This lasted for nearly a month.

6. Brandorrrr then apologized one day for his actions on the chat and his prank, to the entire game, and promised he would never do anything of such magnitude again. As far as I'm concerned, he never did anything similar to his prank again and is holding true to the apology.

7. ELECTR0_DRAG0N apologized the next day for "pouring gasoline on the fire." (metaphor: just made the situation worse). He also apologized to the same people as Brandorrrr did.

Nothing to laugh about. He had guts to apologize which seeing as how most players act in this game, is something not many players do.

I want everyone to read this before siding with anyone!

Isn't that stupid enough? It's like some one tried to pretend to be a racist on the street. Do you expect him can just walk away like nothing happened while telling everyone around him it's just a prank?

I don't understand how he came up with this idea and thought it will be funny in the first place.

Well, it depends on how far they went with the "hacker" scheme. If they nonchalantly said they were a hacker without saying anything else, then other players would think it was a joke.

You can't really just nonchalantly claim to be a racist and expect to get away with it.
