Has anyone got the Strict Ammunition Load augment ? I believe it was available for purchase months ago in a package. A certain player (name ending in ....java) I've come across has this and can get 40+ kills in a match using ares + thunder + brutus. He ignores match objectives.

Yes, I got this augment in August 2022 from Ultra containers and I have been using it actively ever since. The ability to deal critical damage off spawn and every 3rd shot makes it a very powerful augment in my opinion. I am using it with Crusader and Hyperion btw.

Strict Ammunition Load has only be available in that bundle as well as only one iteration of UCs around a year ago, so not many people have it, and most of those who do have no reason to use it (they'd also have Vacuum Shell and Adaptive Reload).

Furthermore, its niche has diminished a bit with the recent Thunder critical chance changes. Armadillo helps against it very well. With the amount of stray Armadillos in battles lately, it's nothing spectacular.

I still prefer Strict Ammunition Load augment over any other Thunder augment and actually, the critical chance changes did not affect the augment at all - it just made it stronger since the chance to deal critical damage is now lower than before.

Not entirely true. The overall crit rate of Thunder increased in that change.

Ive tried Thunder a few times with sledgehammer augment and it feels terrible. Am I just noob or is that augment outdated. Would stock work better?

Any augment would be better than sledgehammer, even stock.

And honestly, thunder is at a point where its only good if you're using a good legendary augment.

It was killed 19 months ago. If you'd like a rundown of what exactly happened for it to reach to this point, read this.

What a right up...do you know everything? ???

very detailed. Correct me that your final words are that sledge is drastically reduced except at almost melee range? I dont have any other augments but Ive always liked thunder. Is stock worth running?

In my opinion stock Thunder is unimpressive but not really weak. If you're looking into using a crystal augment for it, I'd go for Adrenaline or Subcalibre Rounds. Adrenaline in particular is interesting for Thunder because you can deal self damage to yourself to get that increased damage if you're safely playing slightly ranged. Subcalibre makes Thunder better in 1v1s and is pretty practical as long as you don't need the splash damage.

If you're hoping for legendary/exotic augments, hope for Vacuum or Adaptive Reload.

That is correct. There is an augment called Anvil Shells that takes those same parameters but renables critical damage. Of course, it is not a good augment because at its base it is attached to garbage (Sledgehammer).

Exactly what Me0w_XP said. Though I personally consider it weaker now after the critical damage nerf it received recently.
