Asinine.

Buy a Drone with Crystals, pay Batteries with your credit card. That's how it works. You wanna share the same advantages as buyers do, then buy.

This is the definition of Pay to Win, and TO need you to pay to make money.

For myself, I'm a freeloader, with Hunter/Shaft combo and I do pretty well, no real problem scoring top 3 in that mission. Maybe you need a tougher hull and/or more/better protections.

That being said, I fully expect to be shafted (pun intended) with the upcoming proposed new Hunter OD and will likely have to get a new Hull myself. I won't pay for it with money.

As I had said, I know, I pulled mid placement before, and no complaints.  Wanna pay to win, then fine, I'll stick to my guns and play my way and just take the hits, but seriously.  Again last night, it's like the match making system is choosing fodder for buyers.  Three battles, all of which were "on all the time" three drugs, drones, and drugs.  My team?  Two of the battles when checked the score board, half the team left 3/4s in.  I was left fighting on a outnumbered, and out drugged team.

Sure, every night I expect to hit n organized team of four here and there with deep pockets, but something is profoundly wrong suddenly.  I seriously think IT IS the new drones, and their ability to not only upgrade performance, but now perform "magic".  Freaking Rio, I mean Rio!  Shafts do well in defense in Rio if you're any good, was one of my better scoring, though less liked, maps.  A lot of work on Rio to keep your head above water without drugs, shafting, but now, TWO kills, count them, TWO KILLS in seven minutes.  It's just too much.  Can't keep slamming the masses like this, or there will be no fodder left, as I am starting to see with this abandonment that is going on in the middle of games.

We're delving a little out of Shaft specifics here though, so I'll stop here.  Just hard to believe with an M4 Shaft and hull, protection modules in place, one can be so razed suddenly, drop to last place nearly every game, when days before you were sometimes even in the top three of the WINNING team.  When a cautious Shaft can't maintain a K/D above 1, there is a serious problem.

yeah, a shame that hunter's OD is only for short range guns really. I suppose you could use it to counter short range weapons. An annoying freeze/ firebird on drugs trying to ruin your sniping days, OD, now they are helpless before your DD fully charged shot. BAM. no more fire/freeze.

Still, thats not a very common situation i guess...

Indeed, though I am very mobile and will likely experiment with the Triple shot Alteration soon, and yeah, I DO go for flags when my team is helpless about it, and sometimes it even works! Then I guess the Hunter OD may get handy along with the Alteration.

@FogOfWar_XXX I agree with you that OD seems to pop non-stop from everywhere now, that's annoying, but then Shaft protection is uncommon and how satisfying it is to pop a DD and one shot that incoming Viking Twins or Rico right after spending their OD?

HA!

If only I drugged.  That said, YES, when my OD is good and ready, it is nice to light up a jerk that just flashed over with OD.

I used to be a 'purist' and drugged very little, but since Generalissimo I'm swimming in mission provided supplies and gain more than I spend, given an intelligent use of the things instead of spamming any F key that can be hit. I even hoard OD sometimes to get an extra boost at the very right time, often to the frustration of teammates that would have it NOW.

So, supplies, thing is, I found I A: Had the means, and B: How fun it is to capital letter type all along the match 'NERF SHAFT SHAFT OP!!!!' everytime you pop someone.

Call me a troll if you will, I can live with it.

Does anyone use mouse aim with this turret?

I would like to, but my mac is not supported. Apparently it allows you to look around without turning your turret. Do you use the mouse aim?

Since you mention

"I even hoard OD sometimes to get an extra boost at the very right time, often to the frustration of teammates that would have it NOW."

Am I the only Shafter that is regularly knocked off of aim because some 'tard that just got killed and respawned next to you decided they're efforts are more important than your own, and you need to give up the OD to them?

Rails especially, it's like they rage.  "Oh man, I just GOT KILLED??????  Oh look, that person is doing NOTHING, I'll bother them for they're OD, and I'll bump them till they give it to me."  There needs to be a better reporting system in this game because I swear it's a good thing I can't get home addresses of some of these jerks, or I'd be in jail for assault, or worse.  I have shots lined up all the time that are knocked off because while I was in scope I didn't see my OD fully charge, didn't care anyways, AND HAD NO IDEA someone was next to me, panhandling for a hand out, and boom, they bump me.  If "friendly fire" was part of my capabilities, I'd be FRYING that player the rest of the game.  To the point, I do, and don't care about OD, so more often give it to beggars, but there are times where we have opposition so strung out that the only chance of killing anyone in scope is with it, so I save it.

And on an more up beat note, I've managed to do marginally better, even making 4th in battle half the night, or just under, last night.  I Guess everyone ran out of batteries.

Good on you for saying that part about people bothering shafts for overdrives while they are in scoped mode. I've witnessed this a few times and, being a former shaft main myself, wanted to flip them or drive them into a wall and never let them go because I knew if I stayed a shaft main, then that shaft would have been me sometime in the future.

People don't seem to realise that Shaft requires precise aiming and the slightest nudge at the wrong time could make you spill all your damage to the wall or obstacle next to your target. Everyone is screaming "Nerf Shaft!" yet most of them haven't even used Shaft long enough to see the negatives of being one.

This is such a reality in game play...my team lost a battle because I was getting ready to snipe the flag carrier when I am hit by teammate to get OD. Ridiculous...there are only two turrets that can consistently stop a flag carrier at distance...rail and shaft. The shaft is the best at that job!

I was in a silence TDM sniping from the space in blue team base

and this vulcan mammoth who didn't get a single score kept pushing me off and making me self-destruct, after 2 times I changed my position but still got first place

So I was playing on multiple accounts that were on separate Windows (one of them was a shaft) in a parkour battle and I noticed something very interesting.

As I was charging my shaft on one account, on another I noticed that shafts laser didn't appear until it was fully charged, I tested it a few more times and the same result came up.

So now I was wrong in thinking that the laser appeared the moment you held the spacebar.

So no wonder that people deemed it as OP even after the laser update.

I knew about this, BUT, I never knew how long before it appeared, since I'm IN the TANK, not outside.  How long into the charging before you see it?

I think it started to slowly appear around 1/5 to 1/6 before full. I wasn't really paying attention to the bar on the shaft, I was mainly looking at the slow appearance of the laser itself.

4 seconds for standard, 6 seconds for heavy capacitors, 2,5 seconds for light capacitors

please stop multing for your k/d, thanks.

Excuse me?  Mult?  I have Two accounts, one that I have touched maybe 3 times, the other is this one.  It's all I play (I do play on someone else's account sometimes, as a favor, when they can't, just to complete their missions, but haven't in ages since the mission system changed).

So, that said, WHAT HELL ARE YOU EVEN ON ABOUT??? MULTING, please, me, of all people.

EDIT: Anyone here has Short-band emitter or Rapid-fire mode? how are those alts?

The short-band emitter used to be great before all the other alts came out and it was nerfed somewhat. I would NOT get the short band emitters anymore. I am desiring the rapid-fire alt, but have not faced it in battle yet.

Lighter capacity battery is what I think I will purchase soon....just 10k more crystals and I can get it. Of course, shaft is fully m4. That would be my first focus before getting alts.

It seemed to me that there is no difference between standard and light capacitors. About two seconds in both cases

two seconds is a big difference in fast paced gameplay that's like the reload of thunder
