That rapid fire alt is so annoying. Shaft is suddenly a short ranged attacking weapon. I was playing with a beefy mammoth thunder combo and a shaft wasp was totally decimating me.

You can still enter sniping mode with it, can't you?

I believe GG was on the receiving end of the triple-shot...

 

With what you give up to get it - the Alteration is OP.

In the Test Server for Overdrives, it states that Shaft does 3,000 damage at M4 but I was hitting tanks for 3,164 damage and 6,077 when I had double damage and they didn't have double armour activated. Kinda weird numbers but whatever. I have a feeling they're testing some things to put for the next balance changes. 

 

From what I can speculate on, I think the damage increases the longer you stay in sniping mode? I'll do some more looking before I come off.

In the Test Server for Overdrives, it states that Shaft does 3,000 damage at M4 but I was hitting tanks for 3,164 damage and 6,077 when I had double damage and they didn't have double armour activated. Kinda weird numbers but whatever. I have a feeling they're testing some things to put for the next balance changes.

I didn't try shaft in test because I already have it maxed in normal tanki - but I noticed that wasp overdrive was really good and mammoth overdrive is great for taking down clusters of tanks

And also seems to be underrated.

The main reason I like Stock M4 Shaft over M4 Rapid-Fire Mode Shaft is that I just prefer a relatively fast consistent reload. The secondary reason ties into this. If I'm almost at full energy, with Stock M4 Shaft, I'm able to keep firing arcade shots and it would not reduce the amount of energy I had. If I was 1 second away from a full bar and I kept shooting, I would end up being 1 second from a full bar every time. I like to have sniping mode on hand for any impromptu situations it calls for. 

 

On the damage scale, it balances out after a while. Just like Stock Freeze and Shock Freeze's damage balances out after they've both expelled their energy tanks.

In couple V-log ago, Alternativa announced there will be turret rebalances.

 

You are right Congo, Shaft theoretically have min and max sniper damage when fully charged up the sniper shot.

 

When it fully charged up, minimum damage is around 3k. Max damage..... not sure.

3,000 is the maximum sniping damage. Minimum sniping damage for M4 Shaft is 750 damage. 

 

My damage in sniping mode was only slightly increased. It wasn't accurate however since 3,164 is not half of 6,077.

You know what? The Rapid-fire mode guy is probably better than you in all aspects of Tanki, so don't come crying in here asking for a nerf. I've had enough of people who only use Sledgehammer and Uranium, so go away, camper. Many hate people like you, myself included, so unless you have a reason why you're using the turret that requires the least skill in the game, please don't complain.

Hehe, so I guess this is a thing now? I was in sniping mode in a Year 2042 battle and then all of a sudden, this XP player named XAHTER_SMOK comes and stands in front of my laser. Wherever I move my laser, he's directly in front of it. He did that for maybe 15 seconds until I came out of it and he kept pushing and shooting me.

Perhaps the reason he did this was to get 6 stars? Because when he did it, the battle was in the last minute and a half. I was second place and he was third place with a few points behind me.

 

This was the end of the battle.

Found out new thing, if you don't move your tank at all, you will still get kicked from a battle due to inactivity even if you have been shooting and moving your turret. guess it's a new anti camping thing.

that happened to me with magnum  :rolleyes:

You had said that the minimum sniping damage was 3k. That was wrong.

 

OMG...... that Shaft rebalancing in the test server.... was absolutely atrocious! Even when activated Hornet's OD, the final damage M4 Shaft shot did not always kill M4 medium hull.

 

Even when firing another sniper shot and deal more than 3k without DD, it's still useless b/c its garbage damage RNG.....

just tried over drives in test server and more players will leave the game. mammoth OD kills anyone instantly near them and they take no damage at all for like 10 seconds. vikings OD will makes rico shoot faster than a hacker. also shaft is weaker.

OMG...... that Shaft rebalancing in the test server.... was absolutely atrocious! Even when activated Hornet's OD, the final damage M4 Shaft shot did not always kill M4 medium hull.

I'm not sure about you guys but I do 3,150 damage for a fully charged sniper shot and 6,150 damage with double damage. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be 6,300 but whatever. I'm still able to one-shot medium hulls there. You probably went against players who had the Lifeguard Drone, Frozen. It's unlikely but I met one XP player who had it.

i am trying to snipe someone but they are moving fast, do i need to shoot ahead of them to compensate for their speed? or is that not a thing?

It seems as if they're going to increase the maximum sniping damage. That's all I noticed in terms of damage. 

 

Another thing I noticed was that when I was using the keyboard to aim in sniping mode, it would move so fast, faster than normal. You know how in sniping mode, when you start to move, it moves at a constant speed? It seems as if the starting speed was sometimes increased and if I would take my laser off of its hiding spot and try to shoot an enemy, it would overshoot it by far because the rotation speed in sniping mode seemed to double at that moment. I had to use mouse controls after that in the Test Server because aiming it with the keyboard was really unstable.

Like shaft needs more sniping damage?  They want to what... kill heavy hulls in one shot?  :wacko:

I only noticed a 150 damage increase both with double damage and without. Does 3,150 without and 6,150 with it. 6,150 seems like a weird number for it to be double damage. Earlier, I was doing 6,077 damage with double damage so it seemed to fluctuate when I played on different days.

 

With a 150 damage increase, Heavy Capacitors still wouldn't be able to one-shot an M4 heavy hull.

yes it could... 

 

heavy capacitors already deals 3900 damage

 

i understand what they're doing, they're making shaft able to one shot heavy hulls with heavy capacitors woohoo :D

Yeah, you're right. I was trying to do it in my head but that 150 seemed to mix me up every time I tried. Since 3,000 already did 3,900, it would make sense that 3,150 would do more than 4,000 but I just wasn't getting that in my mind.

 

 

They probably did it to either increase Heavy Capacitors' usage or to exterminate Titans and Mammoths before they could use their Overdrives. At least that's why I think they're doing it.
