Not interested in Firebird because of the excessive modules against it. But what about freeze? I know there will always be a few people with protection from your turret but is it excessive?

If you play Polygon CP then all the strong players already  have protection against everything coming in a variety of combinations. Among weaker players the most popular modules I've seen are Lion T-B (Fire, Rico, Twins), Shark T-G (Thunder, Rico, Striker) and Badger T-F (Fire, Freeze, Twins) so you may get intro trouble at times as well. In Arena or Island is even worse as Badger T-F is more popular there.

I've played with Freeze and it seems rather weak. What bothers me is that the freezing effect isn't that significant and the damage output isn't that great either. Btw, almost everyone that uses Freeze already has the M2 alteration for it which may make Freeze a little better, but I don't know since I've never tried it out.

As for other maps...I have no idea how's Freeze doing there.

Update:

I've tried out Freeze again and it went a bit better than I expected so I will try testing it more in the near future. Maybe I was wrong.

The result looks good but there are some things that need to be considered. As you can see there are very few modules against Freeze but changing equipment was disabled to they couldn't have done anything about it. The score is good, but there were many noobs in the battle and for the best results I need to test with some more hard players around. Just as expected the Freezing effect comes in handy only on rare ocasions so the M2 alteration seems to be a good deal.

You are speaking from a Legends perspective, which is good because you should always think long term. I already have Isida Ricochet Railgun and Shaft with Wasp Viking and Titan, should I buy more turrets or started MUinf what I have? I don't plan on using railgun very long term, Ricochet and Shaft are the turrets I like most. I know I need to get protection modules too I was thinking a long range and a short range module such as griffon ta or lion tb, what do you recommend?

I can see very few battles with MUs disabled so I think it's better to focus first on MUs. Save your crystals and don't MU Wasp and Rail as you can play XP/BP in which MUs don't count.

Ofc you need some modules. For really long range Griffon T-A seems to be the best choice. For medium to long range Griffon T-B, Griffon T-D and Griffon T-E should work well.  Personally I'd choose someting that protects me against Rail and Thunder at the same time whuile the 3rd protection should be chosen depending on the popularity of the weapons in the battles you play. As for short range: Badger T-F or Lion T-B. It's rather pointless to get both (unless you play Arena/Island) so you should just pick one.

Griffon will be used in large maps and I only play large maps in non pro battles so maps will be serpuhov bobruisk kunger barda highways and similar maps and I think griffon TA will fit best. For short range I think Lion TB would be best. I already have Shark T-D which is useful at times it's the only m3 module I have it's thunder twins Vulcan, Vulcan protection is not useful because even if you face a Vulcan you have to hide if you face it the protection will serve little use because it's constant fire.

I have M3 freeze and I would not recommend using the "Corrosive Mix" upgrade.    Yes, it gives more killing power but it does NOT slow opponents, which is the primary advantage of freeze.

It depends on the map and on the gameplay you want. For example. what's the point of the freezing effect if you play Island CP? The freezing effect however is better in other cases, especially when when defending in larger maps.

Oh, you're that overly nimble and slick Wasp-Freeze. i see you around quite often :P

...

Just remember not to freeze me from behind alright ?

For short ranges both Lion T-A and Lion T-B serve pretty well, as for Med-long ranges i strongly recommend either Urse T-E or Griffon T-D.

Buy a module that contains Shaft protection only if u play the following maps > Lost temple, Dusseldorf, Monte-Carlo and High ways.

Isida hands down.

It's closer than you suggest.

Both in hands of inexperienced - sure the higher DPS of isida wins out.

Both in hands of skilled - the freeze can do well if there's room to maneuver. Once it gets to flank of enemy it's a whole different fight.

Isida's great for earning xp/score if there's tema-mates to heal.  Not so much with a bad team that dies a lot.

Freeze is very good for defending flag, or any situation you want to slow enemy down.

i don't see why so many people put hornet as best hull for freeze. the drift makes circle strafing so much harder. wasp is much better than hornet.

Isida hands down.

isida is better for team matches, but freeze is much more powerful. freeze easily destroys isida 1v1, and can hit several enemies. freezing effect also helps with golds, since you can easily eliminate competitors.

Wasp has poor acceleration and traverse. It's also extremely unstable and rocks like crazy when slowing down. If you want a short range turret which does lots of damage use Firebird, Freeze is pointless.

Hornet can swerve around mines much better than wasp in some situations.

I think that today it is fun to play with freeze because it's OP (Overpowered)! But when you play against it the battle is just not fair! I think it's slow (freezing) effect needs to get nerfed! It freezes my tank in 3 seconds and I can't even move. You can only defeat him frop a distance but if he comes to you with the slightest amount of health and starts freezing you are dead!

So please just nerf the freezing effect! Thank you! :)

I am the last one in favor of shutting down discourse but the way the game is set up I don't think low-rankers have any right to complain about Freeze or Shaft.  Those weapons just change too much as you move up in rank.

The freezing effect stays the same all the way to M4 but turrets and hulls turn much faster.  You'll be fine. :)

Is Freeze right now UP?

Yes.  I got Freeze M2 ten days ago and was mighty disappointed to find that *mostly* it just slows tanks down, big and small.

I came from using Thunder and Isida and expected the killing power in the same range.

It's good for slowing flag-thieves down long enough for team-mates to go in for the kill, but that's about it imo.

It was such a disappointment I've gone with Twins M2 and started MU'ing those instead of wasting time and cry on Freeze.

Well I hope for you they buff it somewhere in the future..

Just bought M3 at half price, waiting for MU discounts to get it to M4.

Only reason I actually got it was to play CTF more efficiently. Since freeze can slow down tanks, it is awesome turret to get enemy flag, slow down flag protectors and just drive away!
