Why freeze does no longer freeze turret rotation? I use shock freeze and totally freeze enemies but they still can rotate the turret very easily

This aspect of Freeze was nerfed on the 25th of October, 2019. Its freezing level of turret parameter was reduced from 90% to 20%, meaning that at minimum temperature, the enemy's turret would rotate at a maximum of 10% of its speed before the nerf. After the nerf, the enemy's turret would rotate at a maximum of 80% of its speed.

Essentially, turrets have almost full rotation speed at minimum temperature, allowing them to better protect themselves against enemy Freezes.

So, practically, "Freeze" does no longer freeze. What a wise developer who took the decision of this nerf!

@Snoop-Dogg

I bought shock freeze. It is worth it but it is by no means overpowered. The main weakness is still there. The target can simply rotate its turret and shoot. But paired with a fast hull, you can still minimize damage by constantly moving around. I would consider it lower priority wrt having an upgraded hull and turret.

It is great in rugby and ctf. And you just have to touch the tip of your freeze stream(or whatever you call it) to the target and they will instantly start slowing down.

Spoiler

and its damn fun too

Is the Corrosive Mix alt a good choice for Freeze? Might try that on my low account.

Whats freeze with no freeze effect? Stock or other alts r better.

I don't even use freeze, firebird much these days. And haven't touched Isida since a long time.

Close combat turrets are hard to control on mobile anyway.

It would be good if Tanki brings some nice changes to freeze. But till then, I say "Sayonara" to freeze and fire.

I realised while using Freeze on mobile, that you can turn the turret by holding down the shoot button, and sliding your finger along the minute arrow-like symbols on the circumference of the shoot button. Try it out. I guess it works while locking-on with Gauss and Striker too.

Still doesn't beat using ranged turrets on mobile.

I have a much better time using Vulcan and Shaft than the melee turrets.

Freeze isn't really bad, but I personally don't use it because my keyboard is ghosting. I will only start using it after getting / buying Shock Freeze at some point, so the ghosting isn't that much of a problem any more. ?‍♂️

When you are heated or frozen, your tank's temperature gradually returns to neutral temperature. We'll focus on ignition though this will also apply to freezing. As we've seen after the status effect update, for ignition, every time you receive a tick of afterburn damage, 1/10 of the circle is depleted.

This was visible when playing with Firebird, but for non-Firebird users, this was noticeably visible when using the Dragon's Breath or Incendiary Rounds augments. At times, you would shoot the target with the Incendiary projectile and the first afterburn tick would come immediately. Sometimes, it would come one second after you directly damage the target. And every other time, it would be in between those. After the status effect update, we see that the circle depletes by 1/10 immediately as the player is heated, meaning the afterburn damage came immediately as they were damaged. The same happens for freezing as well, but is not visually noticeable without the HTML5 temperature circle.

So I ask, is there some sort of internal clock in the game that keeps ticking towards neutral temperature every second? This would explain the discrepancies in the time taken for the first afterburn tick to be received. I cannot test this so I seek an official (or at least, as close as possible to an official) answer.

See below the details from the German wiki: https://de.tankiwiki.com/Temperatur
(google translatded)

Multiple weapon influence

This example shows the theoretical temperature behavior of a tank that is subject to three permanent influences. These start at intervals of 1/12 of a second.

  1. Firebird Mk7 + (+ 0.50 / second) from T = 0
  2. Firebird Mk7 + (+ 0.50 / second) from T = 1/12
  3. Freeze (+ 0.60 / second) from T = 2/12

The affected tank has a cold resistance and starts at a temperature of -1.0.

Green colors in the table indicate a decrease in temperature in terms of amount, red colors indicate an increase in temperature in terms of amount.

Time in seconds influence temperature Temperature change
0/12   -1
1/12 Firebird 1 -0.875 +0.125
2/12 Firebird 2 -0.75 +0.125

I got shock freeze in a container and it's quite rubbish. I don't use freeze anymore but years ago it used to do a better job at actually freezing opponents...

Yes, 10% turret slowdown just doesn’t give enough ability for a good circle strafing which is/was, one of the best features of Freeze.

Freeze needs a buff. I have no idea why the turret slowdown was nerfed but it needs to be reverted.
