Personally, I think you just need to explore the map a bit more. But there are indicators for locations of basically everything that's relevant to the main objective of the battle, just look around, and follow the ones you do see. In HTML 5, you can see both allies and enemies on the radar system within about a 60 metre radius, I think.

After playing a while you will get use to it. It could be an option for low ranks, but after that it would be pointless.

If you want to be familiarised with the lay out you can look in this forum topic Tanki maps (you will find also some of the Goldbox droping zone).

Maps in Tanki are rather small, and there aren't that many of them. You just need to play a few games on each one, and after a while you won't only memorise the layout, but will be able to drive across the whole map backwards (which is actually a very useful skill in CTF) ?

I found out why sooo many players ignore the fact that hornets OD allows the user to ignore ALL protections that the enemy has against them as well as revealing enemies positions and HP for the team.

It so happens that the ignoring all protections part isn't emphasized in the garage description. The closest it comes to mentioning it is this:

"Also, an automated system of data collection and processing enables the hull to stabilize each shot and hit the weak spots in target’s armor. "

Yeah like, what in the frick is that supposed to mean? Sounds more like a complicated riddle than actual information.

And the first OD part literally just says

"Overdrive allows seeing all enemies in battle."

Should be changed to this:

"Overdrive allows user to ignore all types of protections the enemy has against them as well as revealing their location and HP for the team."

So what's the status, @Maf? Are they considering changing it to include this part?

Isn't it better that fewer people actually know the benefits?  You want more of them out there?

Would you rather get wiped constantly by the current Hornets instead of increased popularity drawing more attention for a nerf?

And it's best that players know what they're getting and not half of it.

Aren't you tired of having to always tell the people who say that "hornet is weak, it's overdrive is not that good" that it ignores all defenses and then have to explain everything to them till they get the picture?

Well I am.

Also really makes no sense that it's not included even though it's hornets personal ability.

Plus the devs are practically lying to their player base or not being fully truthful to them when they didn't add this in hornets garage description.

Don't hold your breath on a nerf.  It's their "darling" - they like it the way it is.  A few more players using it (like the rest) is not gonna make them change their minds.

I don't understand why there is any kind of vague and made up description for any item in the game. It is not a dating sim that need storytelling. All items should have clear specification. Description is taking space, remove it and they should add specs and upgrade details to fill up space.

"Why not request a hull to be nerfed that I don't use often?"

Actually a good idea. In that case, Viking should be nerfed. Guess it's too OP.

I actually really like it, creates a futuristic/fictional background and atmosphere. But I do agree that descriptions should sufficiently inform the player about the equipment part and what it does. For further detail, one can always look on the TankiWiki

But how many player actually look on the wiki? I'd say only about 10% maybe 20% at most use the wiki.

Or maybe nerf it because it's just too OP.   Maybe that's the reason...

If one wants to find out more about a specific turret/hull/drone etc. they should look on the Wiki - or if they need to compare things or want to know about more details, they can check the forum. I doubt whether most players dont know about the existence Wiki, it is clearly visible at the homepage and even in the garage there is a link in every description referring to the Wiki; plus the Wiki has existed for a pretty long time. If one doesn't bother to click on it, it is their mistake for not knowing more details about the concerned item.

Lots of info on the Wiki is pretty useful and most topics are up-to-date (with some exceptions...). Many things are described in detail on the Wiki-pages; e.g. abilities and stats of drones are explained and described better than in the garage. I would recommend people to first look at the Wiki if they want to know more about an equipment piece of something else, if still not clear you can always look on the forum

But knowing what exactly your hull's OD does can't be classified as "more".

maybe not, but the wiki gives plenty information about other items, not solely overdrives

We aren't talking about the wiki here. Everyone knows it's a good information source. This topic is about how the description of Hornet's Overdrive should be better explained in the garage.

Had there been no description, then going to the wiki would be the obvious choice. But if it's actually mentioned in the garage description, then it should provide complete, clear information; otherwise what's the point of writing it in the first place?

Ok my bad, I thought you were referring to what I mentioned in my comment instead of the main topic. But I thought we could all agree that Hornet's OD description is rather vague and unclear

The title is self-explanatory. I think devs should add the r/v function on the new Html5 version so that we can see how upgraded our enemy's tanks are and their alts. This way, it would be more fair to play against a flash player, when they could just press r/v and see your equipment. Please look into this.

I used to think this too, but to be honest, I changed my mind and don't think it's necessary. With the R/V menu it was often hard to read because it was moving all over the place and being obscured by objects. Besides, you usually have better things to worry about when directly facing an opponent, other than checking their strength.

Holding Tab shows you the exact same information, and you can check can compare it for all players at once. The only thing that's slightly inconvenient is the need to remember your opponent's nickname and then find it in the list. But I rarely feel the need to do that, or find it particularly cumbersome.
