The 100 Shafts

Recommended Posts

Hahaha! Railgun user won match to shaft user but using railgun. İs this win!?

İn 1vs1, railgun can defeat shaft, we know this. This is another topic.

Can you defeat shafter in 10 player DM? Or can you win shaft vs shaft match?

Why is everybody treating Shaft like a piece of garbage :/ And why do people keep saying Shaft is a 'noob-gun' for players that are too lazy to move I've been using this turret for about a year now and I can definitely say it is the most difficult weapon for me to handle. A lot of people say that the scope mode is a feature that was added for 'bad' players to be more effective. The opposite is true: this accurate 'thing' actually requires a ton of skill to master it to its full potential. No, I'm not talking about these Mammoth-Shafts (no offense) camping at their base, always waiting for their kills. I'm talking about those users, who can actually drive across the whole map, yet scoping whilst in movement. This gun can't and shan't be compared to any ordinary turret like Railgun or Smoky. These weapons have been granted the capability to harm enemies, even when driving at full speed. Now lets try that with a Shaft: As soon as you hold the spacebar you're as static as rock. Other turrets can easily adjust their aim to prevent missing the enemy, even when the target has started driving the opposite way. Shaft, on the other side, has to 'predict' the behavior of his foes. You're pretty much doomed when you miscalculate their next positions.

What I've been trying to explain is that 'even' Shaft needs skill. The scope might seem as an attribute that makes this gun way too easy to handle when compared to other guns, but in fact requires a lot of time to master.

P.S.

No, I won't accept any duel regarding to this subject as that's just plain useless: duels don't prove everything about a player's qualities, especially when they've used a certain turret for months other than the one that's being used in the duel.

A duel is sure fun to have, but making statements out of the outcome won't make anyone any better.

True you have a point there that sniper mode of shaft requires some skills to master but the thing is the skills earned by shaft are never applicable to other turrets. This is one of the main reasons I hate shaft. In my previous account which was warrant officer 2 I used shaft all the way to WO2  and in the end I found out that I couldn't battle others using any other turrets only because of the fact that I had no other skill within me due to intense use of shaft....

Let me jump into this arguement xD The fact that you had no skill with any other weapon after using shaft for a long time shows that you are a noob . I used shaft for a long time too and it is my favorite weapon after smoky but when I stopped using it it didn't make a difference , I was still pawning people .

Try using a shaft without having an idea how to use it and check out how low-rangers will beat you.  Shaft requires as much practise and patience as any other weapon. I wouldn't describe 'How to use a gun in a game' as a skill at all.

To the OP: When you move out of the warrant ranks, you will notice that the number of shafts will reduce drastically. They will reduce because there are many hulls that a shaft cannot take out, all the others besides hornets and wasps. Hornet and wasp users are directed towards XP/BP battles, leaving larger amount of medium hulls, making shaft utterly weak.

With shaft, i watched and learned too much tactic and with other weapons, i use these. Okay, i need learn railgun. But all can use all other weapons. Nearly all informations what i learned, i learned with shaft. With other guns, only i did practise and upgraded some skills.

That's actually very true. I learned a lot about the different weapons while using shaft.

( how much damage certain weapons do, what tactics work and which don't, etc.)

I also practice using the other weapons with my alts. Today, for example, I was working on my Rico skills with one of my alts. It doesn't matter if I'm good with rail or not. I know what works for me, and that's what is important.

True. I don't like Shaft, I had bought only M0 and didn't proceed, but I meet many opponents with Shaft. Very difficult to master, especialy with a versatile hull like hornet, or even viking. And once mastered to a certain degree, it's moving death.

And in my opinion, after rebalance, a little bit OP... just a little bit.

I'm not sure how OP shaft really is. But you are right about moving (or not moving ;) ) death.

It's really OP at my rank. You should see how many Shafts there are in a regular sephurov TDM or a CTF...

Shaft isn't terribly OP at my rank. My Shaft deals about 142 damage; it cannot destroy M1 Viking and up in one shot, although vanilla M2 Hornets that aren't using some degree of protection will get destroyed in one hit. Those are unfortunately quite rare, since many people seem to micro-upgrade their M2 Hornets.

If you have a problem with Shaft users destroying you, use a turret with knockback (Ricochet in particular), a medium hull, and a Shaft paint.

shaft is good until people team up on you, (desert DM rails team on shafts)

I've been in that situation once. It wasn't pretty. Every Railer there started using Dirty/Lead/Winter and ganged up on me. *shudder*

Hornet M2 becomes really common by Major rank. So yeah, lot's of kills for me.

Shaft M2 and Hornet M2 is my main combo in Silence CTF matches, it gives me sniping power and at the same time, also gives me flag-capturing capabilities. The arcade reload is pretty fast in M2. It's all about precision and timing.

Normally, shaft should use titan, isida should use hornet :D

You have no idea how effective Shaft+Hornet is, when you've mastered it of course!  :P

i have an idea about shaft-hornet. Other shaft's delicious biscuits :D

İt can be very effective, but if there aren't any heavy shafters. Because most time heavy shafters kill light shafters. Sitting light target...

i dont know about you all but shafts dont disturb me. you just have to kill them, right. with the help of isida/fire/freeze it will be really easy to kill them. plus when they are in sniping mode ( i know my own) they cant see on back or sides. so shaft isnt really OP. the truth is that maybe you cant play well. thats all. shafts are one of the easiest to kill. not lile smokeys or other. you just need to know how to play. thats it

That pisses me off. You do NOT USE ISIDA ON A SLOW TANK. Isida is for HORNET and HORNET only.   <_<
