This drone is a portable polarizer based on technology of Paladine overdrive. It increase number of seconds that Polarization status-effect is active after activation of Repair Kit up to some seconds at MAX level. With this drone equipped other sources of Repair Kit will apply Polarization as well (like, Mechanic dron or Dictator overdrive). Upon every activation it will eat additional number of Repair Kit supply. Additionally, it will reduce Repair Kit cooldown.

TL;DR: More ways to counter negative status-effects.

Also its a DRONE and personally im not sacrificing my Hyperion, Trickster, Defender, Crisis just to have polarization for couple seconds.
A L S O who cares if it kills hull augments?? Less times i get EMP, AP, PP, AA, BZ nonsense the better. 
I like the idea even though i would probably never use that drone. I like my big daddy boost drones.

Really now? Reduced RK cooldown and polarization for 5s? The game is not what it's used to be. The debuffs are an integral part of the game. They are what enables weaker players to do anything to those whom either splashed some cash or been around for a long time. Plus, imo at least - they make things more interesting. Battles would be quite dull if it was still just damage through and through (the cash-grabby method of their related augments' release and distribution aside). With a weaker tank, this drone indeed wouldn't help much - but for a well-invested tank, 5s of Polarization is enough to snatch the flag/ball and escape any defender that was hoping to stun/EMP/AP/Freeze/Jam/Burn you = weaken you. If suddenly you become immune to all that, do you think that's fair to your opponents relying on various debuffs? You may say yes as you seem to dislike them, but consider that if debuffs are killed off, and this would effectively kill them off - they will intensify milking stuff like Helios, Hyperspeed Shells and so on instead. Debuffs are used to counter those, as well. I am sure you're aware how overpowered burst damage and bloated multipliers are.

I was thinking what if they enhanced Hyperion (all it does it reduce cooldown time for supplies, doesn't attract me right now)

Since the word HYPER --- faster.....

Enhancement Idea: (Basically would take the strengths of  Trickster, Driver, and Hyperion)

1> Not only reduce supply cooldown but speed up Overdrive Recharge.

2> Have a Speed Boost like trickster, maybe not 40% but something.

Or there is an idea of Drone Hybrids (a merging of drone features).

Is there some new drone in the works? 

ps: BTW why do they call Trickster a speed increase drone? Hyperion sounds like for speed increase.

pps: Increasing Large Hulls makes the game a bit more enjoyable... the normal slow hull speed is nerve wrecking, it is a drag.

There is already a huge overlap in drone ability while still costing the same to micro-upgrade. Hyperion is very potent at what It does and allows you to do and needs no buffs. If you want more speed, you use Trickster or Crisis. If you want more damage, you use Booster, Camper or Crisis. If you want more armour, you use Defender, Lifeguard, Camper or Crisis. if you want more Overdrive charge, you use Driver or anything that can give you consistent kills or capture objectives easier.

Same case as yours  English is not my first language .I remember those nostalgic days of getting Cs in English during elementary school days but at the last 3 years of school I ended  up getting 98/100 in English. Well I was thinking hyper like hyperactive energetic. Anyways I was thinking something to enhance hyperion (since it is an expensive drone); ok lets say no speed increase

but since it reduces supplies cooldown perhaps expand it to reduce OD recharge time as well (Have Driver's ability as well).

I am not the only one that thought about this in the past to improve Hyperion. Honestly, I didn't even upgrade it.

I am not the only one that thought about this in the past to improve Hyperion. Honestly, I didn't even upgrade it.

 

The drone itself is somewhat pricey. In terms of upgrades, it costs as much as other drones, including Crisis. I have it close to max from Black Friday sales, and I didn't even have to buy it- I got it from an Epic tier container. It's quite powerful and I'd say being able to use supplies like parkour mode is worth it. You said that you didn't upgrade it, so your impression of it is skewed because it's not strong until later upgrade levels.

i don't know you guys but in my opinion "Hyperion" was called in such a way to make a reference to Borderlands 2. 

The style and looks of the drone remind a lot of those of the "Hyperion" company added in that game, hence where the name was taken from.

As of the idea i'm personally against it, drones that give you huge amounts of speed are already overpowered enough compared to others, giving more speed to yet another drone would not make sense. Nor would it be making it a lighter version of 3 drones combined.

also I had another idea:

what if protection modules canceled out the "repair kit taking damage penalty"?

if little timmy uses helios and I have ricochet protection module on, then the little kid bursts me with helios and take most of my health even with ricochet protection and armadillo and then I use repair kit and then the kid cant shoot me one more time a half of a second later, interrupting my repair kit.

scorpion camper drone probably wouldn't be able to one shot my medium hull with fully upgraded module too if I use repair kit while get hit by all the high damage automatic spam.

and there are many more advantages too. too many to list.

Changing the cooldown from 30 to 20 seconds for repair kit is more important though. Please at least do this.

I think repair kits are fine how they are; also they are quite powerful to cancel out status effects when they made those changes last year.

But nevermind helios; I think all these new pulsar augs are so deadly and repair kits become vital to live.

I don't have hyperion drone but it does reduce cooldown time but then again sucks it take batteries and more supplies.
