Reduce power of garage supplies

.... and .... I spend more time here in the forum than playing .... that is quite wrong, in my opinion!!

Just repeating for those that have not read it - when Tanki brought in Smart cooldowns (SCD), IMHO this did make an improvement from the previous hopeless situation of full drug use by 'some' tankers that were willing to buy - which caused so many complaints at the time.

 

When Tanki decided on SCD as the solution they also decided on the 'timing' by 'in house' testing as they confirmed in one of the V-Logs.  (SCD has a relatively simple set of parameters to adjust.)

Because Tanki are so adverse to removing Garage drugs and averse to giving us the OPTION to remove them in standard battles - it's a simple proposal to alter the parameters to slow down garage drug use.  What they will find is that the more they slow them down the more the balance will return to the game.  Doing this should also appease the internal TO advocates who wish to keep garage drugs as they are: such that they will not lose face.

 

Even slowing down just the use of garage health packs will make a big improvement.

When the balance returns, then so should many of the 'multitudes' of players and their friends who have gone off to find more 'sporting' games.

When the balance returns, Tanki will go back to being one of the best games on the internet - at present Tanki has lost it.

 

I agree with those that care about this game that we have to get more active about this problem and constantly badger TO in every way we can until they give us a decent answer.

 

I propose adding this to the bottom of every forum post you make:

(Please will Tanki respond to the huge forum thread named:  ideas and suggestions > Drugs - The only today Tanki strategy to win a battle:

- the game balance is once again being ruined by a few druggers.  Tanki has become "Druggi Online")

 

The 15 min battle I had today was won by massive drugging on the winning side - 15-0  and when challenged why they drugged while winning - a kindly tanker said - "because they wanted to get as many crystals as they could"!

I told them as a result of their behaviour all the 'losers' would quit, and I was right!  so we all lost!  Result: no more crystals for any of them until they move on to 'blight' the next game and the next...

I still don't understand why PRO battle pass is 5k. It's not as cheap so as to allow majority of players play PRO battles. It is also not as expensive so as to make players buy crystals for it. Kinda lose-lose situation for both, us and devs.

A drug free server with supplies only would solve everything. A simple solution.

You mean a server without garage supplies but only drops?

 

Whether the answer is yes or no, the fact is I don't think Devs will ever (EVER) give one server to a special setting, for a siple reason. If this setting gets many fans and the said server is always full then massive demand will be that other servers with same setting be given to players. In the end, this setting will dominate Tanki... can they allow such a chain of events? I think not.

There already is a pass that enables you to have No Supplies...anywhere! It's called the PRO Pass! And if PRO pass "gets many fans and the said PRO battles are always full then massive demand will be that other battles with the same setting be given to players" then will developers remove the PRO pass? Can they allow such a chain of events?

 

My point being, there will always be people who prefer supplies battle over no-supplies battle. And this does not include supplies users.

Yes, they would allow that chain of action because you have to buy the PRO pass. They can benefit more out of it by bumping the price up.

I 'm afraid you lost my point. It's not about the posibility to play grug free.. Maybe you could read again my answer and the relative question?

I gave this issue a lot of thought. Although in most cases there is one or two players that use supplies constantly, in many other cases there are whole teams that use constantly one or two supplies (at the same time ofcourse). I mean, apart from obvious druggers - the so called hammerkings / godmode_on - there are many other players that have responted to Tanki's "suggestion" of increasing the use of supplies.

Bottom line, the battles have become extremely unbalanced and not only because there is a "Christmas tree" raiding the map, but because of the extented use of supplies from many players.

 

Tanki is in a difficult situation. After so much promotion of the supplies and updates designed just for that, now they can't just say "oops! That was a mistake! Sorry...". They have to find a way ASAP to restore balance in battles before it loses too many players.

But whatever they do, one thing is certain. If drugs won't be nerfed (one way or the other), then there can be no real solution.

 

Players must understand as well, that overuse of supplies is not a healthy element for the game. Who has to understand this? Not the ones that don't buy supplies, but exactly those that do buy supplies. Using more than one per minute of battle is too much*. In a battle of 15 minutes a total use of 10 supplies (NOT 10 OF EACH, 10 TOTAL!) is more than enough. As the saying goes, less is more, more or less.... :)

Dear Rusty

 

The number you stated (10 drugs limit in 15 minutes) could work, but only together with adequate drug nerfing (up to +25-30% increase). Otherwise it is like having 2 resistant tanks in one (or 2 shooting guns in one) for more than half of the total time, which is quite unbalancing.

Hope you consider the healing in that ten too.

 

But it is good to set out some ideas! Ideas should be the point to start with!

Great! One of the best posts in this thread.Exactly stating the situation. :D

 

 

I saw before in this thread,that some mod(cant remember or take the time to find out) said that using supplies is the way the game is to be played. :( 

 

Really? Buying drugs for buyers and using all we have for free users and after that,dying to the buyers.Great.Brings balance.

 

And well,none of the mods are talking and reasoning here for some time. :huh:

As drug buyer and cry buyer......

I don't drug a lot. But when a player with my flag has armor I get power by pressing 3 and I get armored when my base is attacked by power.... I care not if it's a drug or drop...As a defender I dont get drops

I thought of buying New m3 equipment for my main accounts, but then, 3 to 4 drug kit seemS to be a better move! I'm 'forced' to drug to win, LOL!

The reason of this game - and every game - is to play to have fun and secondary to win. Playing just to win, is a lost cause for you, as it is for everybody.

You should change your perspective.

Why upgrade to M3 Railgun when a double damage with M2 Railgun is almost a guaranteed kill every time?

 

Actually a drugged out Isida is probably the best one for DD - healing takes no time at all.

That is the point!

 

Even if it is not the "better" move, but the faster, as the concept of drug is in any contest. And, on my opinion, not much to LOL about ... I find it quite sad!

 

Not you Sven, but generally "you cannot buy advanced equipment because you are a noob that still need to grow up in the game? No problem ... just drug and you will be a warrior!!!!"

It will be worse after the helper vs players event. All those alts drugging like no Tommorrow from recruit to Generalissmo. I have many accounts and all tell the same story. Btw, it's not easy to find pro battles. And even then they are rigged battles too.

 

Edit: I'm also witnessing a Battle where a bunch of low rankers like captain and majors defeating major gens and brigs. Using full drugs. Wow!
