Underused Hulls(Heavy, Medium) - speed should resolve the matter

S I was thinking and I figured out what Tanki Devs should do to make heavy and medium hulls popular, they have enough armor, but not speed, I mean think about why are hornets so popular? because they can withstand 2 railgun shots and 1 shaft shot (with lead) and has such high speed, capturing flags requires armor and speed in which you have overpowered this hull, so if people can get extra points by using this hull, why won't they and theoretically it requires an unstable hull to capture gold, this does it but with more speed so people want to get it at any rank because of overpowerement

 

The solution?

 

Add 1 whole speed point to each level of medium and heavy hulls, this will bring diversified games as then people will prefer more armor but people who mu'ed their hornets will stick which will balance out everything in terms of hulls. And the second reason people don't use viking fro example is because they want to use isida and viking as many claim is simply not good with isida but best with hornet so people just take hornet.

hornet can only withstand 1 rail shot  & 0 shafts shots

hornet can take 2 rail shots :s 1 if its with DP and shaft forget about it why would even dare step into shafts lazier with hornet :x even if my hornet has mu on it

Why make the Bigger Hulls better and faster than they are now? They got a boost on armor, that's good, but give them more speed and you'll just be making them OP.

 

Besides, Hornet is not as popular as it was, I see more Vikings and Dictators since the Auto-Aim update.

Having Medium Hull and Fat Hulls run around like a Wasp would ruin Tanki.

 

Besides, I prefer having more Armor on my Hunter, if you got the skill, you can capture of do things with it ;)

Waaay too OP. The light hulls will lose their purpose if the mediums become almost as fast, but a great deal more armoured. I think the increased armour bonus is enough incentive to by medium-heavy hulls for now, so we need to see what happens in battles after this update before jumping to conclusions...

Well then maybe make it so a Hornet can survive a shaft shot with 1 hp left

Why? Shaft wouldn't be fun...... :(

 

Besides, doing that would make Hornet OP, the lightest Hull that can survive Shaft is Viking, so giving Hornet that much HP would bring unbalance to the Hulls system.

Actually light hulls are not OP. It is popular becoz people prefer speed more than armor. Wasp is not popular in game as much hornet becoz it is costy and it get unlocked at high level and it get filped by railgun so easily . I would buy wasp instead of hornet but hornet m2 &m3 got unlocked at small ranks. Another reason is that xp battle are more popular than bp

I didn't say they are OP, although they are quite popular......

 

I said that this idea would make them OP, thus making them the most popular Hulls, and Heavier Hulls would be rendered pointless to use when you have a Hornet with the HP of Viking.

I was thinking of

- adding _top_ speed to the heavy hulls.. but not alter their acceleration.

  So you can go faster.. if you have time to accelerate.

- and I won't change turning speed of the hulls!

 

So a titan can cross the battliefield faster (less boring) but in close combat it is still not agile and turns as fast as today.

So the lights hulls still have an advantage over the heavy ones.. while the heavy hull users are less bored.

I would use light hulls for speed. That's what they are for. Speed.

 

I don't see why the devs think this update will increase popularity of Med and Heavy hulls.

 

We want speed. So we choose it. Ever thought why we chose it? Instead of giving light hulls a hard time, why don't you increase the dynamics of medium and heavy hulls?

 

Devs, please don't alter unnecessary things. Also, popularity is NOT balance. So, who cares people use light hulls more?

 

It is easy to get killed anyway.

You know my opinion. Making medium / heavy hulls harder to kill won't make hornet less popular. It has just make our game harder. I keep using hornet though.  Death to all the heavy hulls!

And I will be using it untill I can purchace wasp...  :P

my idea hornet m2 speed=10.81  hornet m3 speed:11.47 weight: both reduced

That would make the update to Railgun and Smoky's impact force pointless, because flipping light Hulls would be even easier with this.

 

If they will ever put this in the game, I'd rather see the impact force on those Turrets returned instead of this.

As I believe it has already been said, this would make heavy hulls far too over powered. Furthermore, I believe this would be counter intuitive. Gameplay would be less dynamic, as all the hulls would maintain a common attribute of being somewhat fast. I'd strongly suggest that this idea never be implemented.

Wut? :huh:  I think you are confusing dynamic with diversity. Speed = Dynamic.

I didn't notice any increase on the Heavy Hulls usage after the update.  :huh:

Hornets are still far more popular than any other hull, because no matter how strong the Heavy Tank's armor is, the Light Tank has the unique advantage to be fast enough to shoot & hide behind obstacles, which means it won't take any damage from the Heavy Tank.

On "clean" maps, maybe the Heavy Hulls have the advantage over Light ones, but such maps are rare and not very popular either.
