Let's Discuss Missions!

Does anyone else find the hardest part of a super-mission to not accidentally hit the "change" button?

There should be some sort of guard on that button - like the "confirm" dialog before buying a turret or hull.

I've suggested that before.  But in Tanki's mind-numbing indifference to things players actually find useful, I've received no reply.

The latest Tanki stupidity?  The "finish in the top three on the winning team" mission.

Stupid.  Stupid!  STUPID!

Here's why:  There's already a huge bias against joining a team that's behind.  You get fewer crystals on a losing team.  Your progress on crystal missions is slower.  It's more FUN to be on the winning team.  Even if you join a losing team, you can count on other people leaving.  You'll almost always be at a numerical disadvantage, which for team battles, completely swamps out any advantage in ability or equipment.  I talked about all that above - but if you're not on a winning team, you cannot even make any progress towards a "top 3 winning team" mission.  It's worse than the crystal missions.

So once again, I urge anyone with a mission - never, ever, EVER join a losing team.  It's just not worth it.  Of course, the games will get shorter and shorter and less and less fun and Tanki will start losing players and revenue - but that's okay, because it's the only time Tanki ever listens to anyone.  When the average CTF game ends after the first flag, when the average TDM game ends when one team goes ahead by 3 kills - maybe Tanki will wise up.  When the clock never gets past 13 minutes on its way down from 15, and most of the server overhead is spend checking people into and out of games - MAYBE they'll get a clue.

But I doubt it.

Crystal missions are not the problem. The problem is the payout system. Take Cry missions out of the game and players will still "shop" battles.

Actually sometimes I will stay in a losing game if I have a Crystal mission. If the game was close or we were winning most of the game before the other team took charge, I might as well fight it out to get some Cry towards the mission.

What you're describing is a case where you've already made an investment in a game before it became a losing game.  But unless you thought you could win, you would already have left the game.

Cases where winning teams get beat in the last couple minutes are relatively rare.  They really only happen when the game has been close throughout, or where there's a substantial change in the number of players on one of the teams.  The GENERAL case is that a team that is ahead after the first two minutes will continue to extend its lead.  That's why I leave games where the other team is 2 flags ahead, or 10 points in CP after the first two minutes.  Tanki has made this the best approach to getting the greatest reward.  Of course, if my team is behind by 2 flags, and I leave, odds are they will lose even faster.  Not only are they behind (so no one will join), but they're also at a numerical disadvantage.  Sucks to be them.

I do not see where we disagree on anything here. This has nothing to do with Earn Cry missions though. I look at battles like this when I have no ry missions.  In fact I will sometimes play to the end of a loss just to get some Cry, if the game is not too far from ending. If anything Cry missions will keep me in a loss more than get me to exit a loss.  I do not see Cry missions as being a detriment to the game overall.

You can get containers by completing mission chains at any rank.

Yes - that finish top-3 on winning team is worse than finish 1st on your team.

You start of with ~ 50% chance to accomplish (being on winning team) then you are "battling" against your team-mates.

So no matter how well you score, you have < 50% to accomplish this - especially if there's > 5 players per team.

Never liked the finish 1st missions but at least you could finish the mission irregardless of how your team is doing.

I think the new mission concept is a slight improvement in favor of the players. There are three qualifying slots per game now compared to two before. There are ways to sort through the battle list to find small games / easy wins under either approach. SO I reckon it as a slight improvement overall.

I always found it easier to find a bad team and join that, since many people disregard the teams that are losing.

In that instance the mission completion outweighs the fact I'm unlikely to receive many crystals from battle-fund.

But with new mission-type - to be on winning team, you have 2 factors against you.  1) it must be winning team. 2) If the team is winning there's a good chance you are also competing against good players.

For me the new version seems like more work.

Harder to join a winning team (those slots get filled quickly - can't tell the # times I've went to click the button only to be shut out)

And you pretty much need to be there relatively early or you are playing catch-up in the score with the rest of your team.

Just a matter of perspective I guess. :)

I'm not a fan of RGB or Assault (except the holiday versions).

So each time I get a mission to complete one of those I switch it.

And each time I switch it I get the same mission back - only it's for crystals instead of experience. Or vice-versa.

Yeeesh.

I got drugs for week as rewards...

This is for random system.

As WO5 the random system you hate pays you about 40% more than the system it replaced. You won't hate it as much the weeks you get 25k oir a 10 day Premium Account, Good weeks and bad week average out in your favor. :)

What are you feelings about the Mission Chain Update today and after the update?

For me personally, the idea that I'll not have to do missions daily feels very strange. I think that I have become addicted to all of this and that maybe I'm in someway feeling what people with addictions feel when they take away their source of addiction.

I know I can just keep playing, no big deal right? and I know some will just jump on the opportunity to remind me that it's no big deal. I just want to understand this process.

I'm planning on taking a break, let's see if I can achieve that.

:( befejezte a játékot! 5 tartály. 2X125 sebességfokozat, 2x125 bánya és 3500 sír. Hasonlóan a küldetéshez, a sebességnöveléshez és az enyémhez. Sajnálom, de ez még bosszantóbb!

(Edit VKG4S :( finished the game! 5 tank, 2X125 gear, 2x125 mines and 3500 graves, similar to mission, speed upgrading and mine, but I'm sorry but this is even more annoying!)

Since the last few days (3 or 4 days), there are no normal battles available in any game category.

Only pro battles are available. Hence I could not complete daily missions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance friends

Hello, since the implementation of Matchmaking, the normal battle can only be accessible via the [battle!] button and the normal battle menu.
