I once gave a lengthy post on just such a thing, it got ignored. Funny that YOU should write that WE don't have a clue. As before I acknowledge your superior wisdom in all matters concerning TO and the devs.

What section of the game is this coming from? Just letting you know that the critical hit rate for Smoky increases as you go higher in the modifications. It is certainly now weak at maximum upgrades.

most of mine is mk5-6, smoky is mk3 but im not upgrading it - i have stunning smoky, yet it will only stun about once every 50 shots - whereas hammer will stun every three

That there is your problem. Your Smoky's modification is nowhere close to being appropriate for your rank and what more, you're using an augment that cuts the chance step in half, resulting in even fewer critical hits overall. 

 

To help you visualise what your current Smoky critical chance looks like with the Paralysing Rounds augment:

 

-50, -37, -28, -12, 0, 12.6, 25.2, 27.9, 27.9, 27.9, 27.9 (eventually until you get a critical hit, which will then have this sequence start over from -50). 

 

This is what an Mk7+ Smoky with no augment looks like:

 

-50, -10, 30, 50, 50, 50, 50 etc.

Mk7+ with Paralyzing Rounds would be:

 

-50, -30, -10, 10, 30, 50, 50, 50, 50, 50, etc.

 

Paralyzing Rounds isn't an ideal Smoky because it cuts both the chance step and the critical damage in half. If you want to stun, use your Hammer instead.

I know ive been asking for many buffs, but i believe twins does need one. Been using the 'HD' twins, and noticed how bad it was, so i upgraded it from mk3 to mk 5, only to deal like 15 more damge! I found out that mk1 twins does almost the same damage as mk 2 wtwins, wheras most turrets will do way more! I played with mk1-10 twins on my (very) low account and got 30-16, yet on my high account it sucks. I suggest more damage be added each upgrade, as mk7 firebird or freeze deals way more damage way faster than twins.

You can massively increase Twins damage if you buy "heavy plasmagun" Augment, at the cost of bullet speed.

Increasing Twins base damage would make this augment even stronger.

And to be honest i find twins to be completely fine, doesn't seem weak at all when i have one against me.

Just don't make the mistake of using Twins in every single map, if you go play stadium TDM it's obviously not going to do well, damage or not (unless you equip a specific augment, but here I'm talking about the stock version)

Another case of your equipment being undergraded. Upgrade your Brutus drone and upgrade your turrets properly. Right now, the majority of turrets are fine if not kill too quickly, and your current equipment doesn't allow you to see that.

Twins at lower MU won't do much benefit even if special alts equipped. To see certain changes, try different playing style with twins, and if you want more damage, you can always use camper or booster.

Twins is perfect the way it is right now. It is one of the few Turrets with Augments that are useful in any situation: Stable Plasma for aggressive play in small/medium maps; Heavy Plasmagun for increased DPS, useful in Siege and small maps; Plasma Accelerators for bigger maps and for shooting comfortably at range.

Yes i know - but upgrading it another mk or even 2 more mks only gives it like 15 more damage per shot - which i consider a awaste of crystals. However, my friend has an mk6-10 twins and seems to go pretty well.

If you look at it strictly like that, you're limiting yourself. 

 

Upgrading Twins does not only upgrade your damage per ball. It upgrades damage along with your firing rate, projectile speed, range, turret rotation and impact force. All of these are important for Twins and come together to make it good.

Okay okay ill upgrade at next sales (and maybe heavy plasmagun) or should i buy incinedary band?

Your garage is way too diversified and all over the place. Your GS doesn't look good. You should upgrade and use Brutus for the time being, while upgrading one or two turrets with one hull.

Good advice from Congo :) Yes I agree, for a free player or light buyer (I am guessing you are one?) you can probably only afford to upgrade and use Brutus drone at the start, until you have some Mk7 turrets/hulls and protections.

I see you are Lieutenant General, which is the rank at which you can buy Mk7s from the shop. At this point, you really want to save for at least one (or preferably several) Mk7 product kits for a turret/hull/protection module that you do not have, and that will give you a large boost. These kits are INCREDIBLY good value, and will give you items at a great discount - if you have all the items in a kit at Mk5 level, it is about the same as buying on a 50% sale, and if you have less than that it is CHEAPER than a 50% sale.

Ideally you want to get one turret from each category (Melee/Short/Medium/Long) and one hull from each category (Light/medium/heavy) from mk7 kits so that you can easily complete special missions for Ultra Containers. Mk6 equipment that you already have can be upgraded (On a sale) to Mk7 in 2 ranks time for you, at Marshal. 

There is no point in buying Mk5 equipment at Lieutenant General as it is bad value, and Mk5s will be very weak in battle at your rank.

Haha its okay. I have one main for each of the four ranges all mk6 (the highest i can get) I have mk6-10 hammer and almos mk6-10 rail. Yeah i am upgrading brutus, as my crisis is draining all my supplies xD.
