I did at one point. I challenged myself to complete that day's daily missions using only vertical Magnum. This was one of the battles.

Never again.

Yeah every time I try to use vertical magnum, I just feel like a multi. Better to just use horizontal magnum.

Since those moderators simply reject all ideas they don't like, let me say it here.

Magnum, a turret that is full of mistakes from tip to toe. It should never exist at the first place, because it ruined the game completely.

  1. Its existence is a mistake. I see countless times one or more magnums just siting at their own base and keep firing. Sometimes, they hit something, some times they don't.

    1. There is no way to fight back, unless it is an overwhelmingly win on your side. The map is designed so that the base is hard to be overrun to prevent spawn kill. And this gives the damn magnums an extremely safe spot to camp.

    2. They usually contributes little to their team, since it is almost pure luck to actually hit someone across the map, unless it is siege mode.

  2. Its name is a mistake. Does the Dev actually know what magnum is? Magnum, in varies diameters, is a pistol round which is commonly used by revolvers like this one.
    44_magnum_revolver.jpg?itok=q_FFCE2t
And the Devs decided to give this game to an artillery be cause it sounds powerful???? It is a PISTOL round!!! Powerful my
p.s. Yet, if you just search "magnum" online without any extra words, the first result will be an Ice pop, which is even more embarrassing.

Have you ever heard the phrase "magnum opus?"

magnum opus (Latin, great work), "is a creation that has been given much critical praise, especially one that is considered the greatest work of a person's career or to a work of outstanding creativity, skill, profundity, or workmanship".

Anything about the definition it is remotely related to an artillery?

Also, magnum is NOT magnum opus. Simple logic. You can't say some phrases have the same/similar meaning simply because they share one or more words.

Gauss would be sneering at this statement.

At least Gauss is still a "normal" turret and require line of sight. Magnum though, I have seen millions times a magnum shoot all the way across the entire map sitting at his own base, behind a damn brick wall.

I decided to post every single magnum campers I met. Let see how long I can keep up.

Definition of magnum camper: Players who are using magnum and seldom/never leave his own base the entire game.

At least magnum requires skill to use effectively. Gauss though, is so easy to use even a toddler can use it and do well with it.

They both have advantages.

Lots of cover from LOS turrets like Gauss.  But very little cover from indirect fire like magnum.

Don't really need a ton of skill to use Magnum on the attacking team in Assault, when you know where at least half the enemy team will be.

True but then again, that's the downside of the mosh pit concept. Seige and technically rugby also fall in this category.

"Magnum" means "great" in Latin (consider the word "magnificent"). Magnum's name references its high damage and (according to the Wiki) its large caliber. It is of course debatable whether Magnum is actually all that great (especially considering the disastrous effect it has had on game balance), but that's what the developers were going after when they named it.

In other news, has anyone who experienced the Magnum no damage bug before the recent patch also experienced it after the patch? Seems fixed for me - I tried a few battles with Magnum, normally a good 30% of my shots record nothing, but every strike was properly causing damage for the first time since I have used HTML5. Anyone else anything to report on that?

(A question ONLY for those who experienced the Magnum no damage bug before the patch).

Let me continue the trend, this son of a gun camped in the entire battle with Magnum in his very own spawn. He never moved in the entire game except after dying. BTW, there are 3 magnums on the enemy team and only him who was camping.

Magnum felt different from last time I used Automated Gunpowder loading mechanism augment, like it was easier to use. Thought it was changed recently, so I looked in the updates on the wiki. Didn't see no changes.

I guess it was because I was using Ares and mouse controls, or I was shooting at 35 degrees, or that I was using the alt. Or perhaps all 3 of these methods made it work.

Remember that argument we had back in 2019 about whether Stock was better than AGLM or vice versa? I said Stock was better and you said AGLM was better. I did tests with different velocities and concluded that the only place AGLM beats Stock at was constant high velocity shots (for example, shooting from your base in Highways into the enemy base). Come 2020/21 now, we're seeing that AGLM is shooting faster than usual. I noticed this with a video that was recently posted. His AGLM was reloading noticebly quicker than I remember AGLM was in 2019. Keep in mind there were no changes to Magnum's reload time since then.

I queried it with the Wiki mods and they said nothing was changed with it and that it was always like this. I will continue to disagree. But now I know why Boris does so well with AGLM these days compared to before. If he messes up a shot, he gets to reload quicker than Reinforced Gun Carriage would.

You should've told me you knew about this side of magnum when we were having that argument in one of the idea topics the other day. And straight up too. I would've easily understand and admitted it was a bad idea.

I don't care for other critics of magnum since they mostly give trash excuses as if they themselves are not skilled enough at the game. But you're the one with the cold hard facts and the valuable information. You even have evidence to prove your theory. So as you can see, your opinion is highly valued.

Now back to AGLM, it might not get as many guaranteed kills as gauss, but it sure is getting more guaranteed hits than ever before, which is nice for non legend ranks. Especially the beginner, low and mid ranks.

There has been changes on magnum. They nerfed it damage to 1745 ( Before mk8 was 1900-2100 or 2200) Mk5 was dealing 1745. Magnum now can't one shot light tanks which sucks. They nerfed it damage to the ground. Because of this I had to buy booster. ( I use Harpoon augment  and it has worst splash damage i have ever seen )

Mk8 Magnum's damage range was 1160-2330. 1,745 is the average of those two numbers and the damage you were most likely to deal anyway.

Do you think Gauss' damage was nerfed to the ground as well?

Damage range was from 1900-2330 , not 1160. I was dealing most of the times enough damage to one shot light tanks .

They should nerf gauss even more. It ability to snipe and arcade shoot is too op. With EMP and AP it is whole another level. Too OP.

Shaft with heavy capacitors, 4 seconds too give full damage . I mean . Nerf that camp bot to the 6 sec or even more. No one wants to be one shotted by camper shaft losers.

And last one , smoky autocannon mobile users. Critical that ignores protection. I mean seriously? Auto shooting + critical that is too op.

Easy way to fix that. Nerf critical damage of smoky autocannon for 50%.
