What to buy? Which is better?

Anyone know if Tornado kit (Rail/Hornet M2) has recently been in the shop? Like maybe in the last 4 weeks.

Also, any other must-buy M2 kits I should consider?

Don't get Tornado. It's - super weak. If you wanted my opinion I would suggest either Juggler (Rico/Hunter), Chiropractor (Shaft/Hunter) or Pitbull (Hammer/Hunter). You can choose which one based on turret preference. If you check my profile, Rail/Hornet is top 3 in my most used list and that's mainly for format battles. But if you want to be competing at all in MM get something other than Tornado. Later on, if you still want to join format XP/BP battles, then get Tornado, but only later on.

If you really, really dislike Hunter (best hull, but whatever), and you want to get a Railgun kit, go with Dictator/Rail. It's vastly more powerful than Tornado, and the extra supplies several times a game will help a lot.

I mean, I originally bought tornado, and I'm using railgun with everything aside hornet.

And when I play with Railgun/Hornet as my highest-upgraded combo in MM, it's dreadfully weak compared to Shaft/Rico+Hunter. And now I just realized what you're saying :) Yeah, Hornet M2 is weak anyways - deemed a "tinfoil tank" here on the EN forum ;)

I haven't seen Tornado lately, it's probably coming soon. But Tornado is expensive because the of the paint and it's weak compared to other M2, which is not good unless your buying at the tanks it appears and you're planning to MU it to M3 rapidly.

Other kits depend on your turrets and your play style, that because of ODs. Check the wiki to see the list of other kits.

I was thinking of buying Tornado kit for XP/BP battles. Tbh, I'm a Viking guy. I have Viking M1, which I am upgrading to M2 through MUs. What do you think about the Northener (Smoky/Viking M2) kit for later on?

Pretty good - but if you wanted my honest opinion I would opt for Turtle. It's better overall. Also, if you have M2 Viking it's a waste to get a kit with Viking in it. Plus, Turtle is in now so if you go just slightly slow it'll be in again when you reach that rank.

Here's what I would do in that case:

I'd buy Voltage for the Rail and Rail protection and because it's cheap. Then buy Hornet when there are discounts. At the end I'd have 4 equipments instead of 3 for about the same amount of crystals.

If voltage is the dictator railgun kit, I absolutely recommend the combo, it's insane, especially if you load round destabilization on railgun. It puts my other combos to shame. (To the point where I want to stray from it, as it's mostly high reflexes and quick aiming with my m3 dictator... It moves fast enough)

The Tornado kit is great when using it with an alteration for your Railgun, especially Round Destabilisation and Electromagnetic Accelerator "Scout".

At your rank, you'd need to rank up once to be able to buy Round Destabilisation.

Tbh I rather using stock Railgun than Destabilised. Since the nerf it received, I find stock more effective.

Phew, haven't been to this topic in a while...

Anyways, I've managed to save 243k crystals (and more over the next week or two), and I'm looking to spice up my Garage to better adapt to the metagame.  I've been thinking of buying the Saboteur and/or Defender Drone, but I think I need at least one more hull, turret, or protection module before spending on Drones and Batteries.

For hulls, I'm thinking of getting M3 Titan.  For turrets, M3 Hammer (alongside its High-Capacity Alteration) will definitely help me in mid-range combat.  For protection, I'm tempted to get M3 Gauss protection, but I think M3 Mines or Smoky protection would be better for me.

So what should I get first?  How good is stock Hammer?  Thanks for your advice!

Bump (btw, thanks FrozenRailgun for your advice when we chatted in the lobby!)

I tried stock and it's useless compared to destabilization... The amount of times you hit a straight up 2000 or more are many. Whereas the stock railgun struggles to hit 1500 on dd, and if people are protected you can just give up. Consider destabilization still raises the average damage per shot by nearly 15%.

Anyone tried both Round Destabilization and Scout in MM battles? which one is better?

I haven't tried scout, however I can tell you that, at m4, a stock rail has 324 dps, a destabilization has 367, and a scout gets a good 403, and you still retain the entire impact force.

As for large caliber rounds (you didn't mention this one, but I'll include it anyway), it gets 321 dps, but it's more likely to cause instant kills than the other 3.

I was actually deciding on which of these two to buy this morning. I caved and bought Scout. I'm not disappointed. I looked at the damage I would get on each one and decided that Scout would be more practical.

Maybe.. but trying both stock rung with me better. You're getting more than average now? I used an M2.5 Railgun with destabilization and I was hitting 53 with DD. Often under 200. Maybe I'm just unlucky :P

Hi there!

I'm currently sitting at 33140 crystals, and I'm wondering what kit I should save for. I already bought keeper kit, and I'm wanting a medium-hull kit. I'm considering saving for "Hammer of Thor" kit. Any suggestions?

You can buy the Viking/Freeze kit and have a close range turret to complement your Smoky. Better than having Rico and Smoky I think.

You can also wait for the Dictator kits, but I wouldn't go for Dictator M1 kits because I'd prefer Dictator M2 kits.

But it all depends on your play style. If you rank fast you can fully MU your Keeper and save for M2 kit. If slow, then another M1 kit is good.

I want to give you a very honest suggestion, 'do not buy more than one M1 combo'. Just upgrade your Keeper kit 3 to 5 times (on sales of course) and it will be sufficient enough to go through M2 ranks. You're very lucky to be able to buy keeper kit very early on, now you've enough time to save for at least 2 M2 combos.

I believe you must have 2 M2 combos (1 for short range and 1 for long range) otherwise you'll have a hard time in certain maps. Wasting crystals on multiple M1s is not a wise thing to do.

Note: I believe you're a non-buyer that's why I'm giving you that advise as another non-buyer, learning from someone's mistakes is always smarter than learning from your own mistakes. If you're a buyer just ignore my advise because you're the Supreme Leader!

Maxing up titan/smoky to m2 will make you an unstoppable force on the battlefield, I wouldn't buy another m1 kit. Upgrade your current one, and when the time for an m2 kit comes, evaluate if it's worth it. You'll probably end up wanting one around my ranks, as your current kit needs 3 red stars to get to stock m2, so it's very late, but other m2s can be micro'd to m3 so they're going to be worth it then.

Your beliefs are correct! I am a non-buyer. I worked super hard to earn my crystals and I rushed the challenge.

I've used smoky a lot on multiple accounts and have tried both M1 alterations and High precision aiming system. It's fun to use the first alteration that gives you extra impact force but in terms of result/ rewards stock Smoky is much better than these alterations.

As the guy in the receiving end of smoky's shots I find supercumulative rounds extra annoying, because you cannot predict when you should use a repair kit. Otherwise the most popular ones are incendiary/cryo rounds and autocannon but you won't see those for a while.

guys nother question viking or hunter with thunder m2

guys nother question viking or hunter with thunder m2

If I was being honest, I really dislike Viking. It's OD is kinda viewed as OP and is used to get easy score by a lot of people.

Aside from the OD, I cannot bear to play with Viking. It's profile is not to my liking, and it's super slippery and unstable. Viking is by far the hardest to aim between the two.

I love using Hunter, and it's OD is very powerful. It has good handling, it's a good profile, and and doesn't get it's aim knocked off as easily.

If you asked my opinion in general, I'd say Hunter ten times over.

But your question was specifically regarding Thunder... as much as I am ashamed to say it, Viking goes better with Thunder. I used Matrix (M1 Viking/Thunder) kit in WO ranks, and while I didn't like the hull, I have reasonable experience with it. When I got M2 Thunder, I decided to try it with my M2 Hunter. The combination is not nearly as powerful as Viking/Thunder. I couldn't tell you why, but in my honest opinion Viking goes better with Thunder.

So that's my answer. If you're dead-set on buying Thunder, then invest in Viking.

BUT! If you'd consider another turret, definitely get Hunter. Thunder is the only turret that doesn't click with Hunter, IMO.
