Ideas for Mobile Version!

Not sure how practical it would be, but seems like a good idea.

Though keep in mind that mobile version is considered as "feature-complete" and will have no more updates beyond changing it to HTML5 (already work in progress) and ensuring compatibility with PC.

I usually play Tanki on mobile devices, which is a little meh, but it mostly works. However, I’ve run into a major annoyance as I typically use Gauss. The auto-fire feature is a great way to make the game function for mobile, but it often attempts to make impossible shots, and the splash damage from a round I didn’t even want to fire ends up killing me. This mostly happens when I’m approaching (or shoved into by teammates) a group of enemies. The enemy closest to me dies, and the gun seems to think that obstacle no longer exists, attempts to fire at a tank behind the destroyed tank, and then the round inevitably hits the destroyed tank and the only person affected by the shot is myself. This also happens when turning corners, the aim will be triggered by an enemy way off in the distance, as I’m turning, the round doesn’t fire on time and hits a wall next to me. I feel like there should be some way that the auto-fire should recognize a shot isn’t even possible, or recognize obstacles at the very least.

 

Separate topic: Is there a way to select a specific target to lock onto when using Gauss’s snipe mode? Unless a group is perfectly still it won’t “lock-on” and keeps moving around all the potential targets, causing a shot to never fire because it can’t charge up. Even if I’m aiming at a target directly in front of me and an enemy comes into range way off to the side (left or right, behind, otherwise nowhere near) the snipe mode starts switching back and forth. And no, I’m not talking about when another tank drives directly into the line of fire. It’s almost as if it tries to select whatever is moving around the most at any given moment instead of just locking onto one target. I feel like I can’t ever get off any salvo shots because of this issue and I’m just using a slow thunder. Love the gun but it feels suuuper buggy rn.

On mobile right now, you have this supply wheel thingy where you drag left, right, up, or down to activate Boosted armour, speed boost, double damage, and mines respectively and the repair box is a seperate button next to the overdrive. My idea is to remove mines from the wheel and give it a button next to the repair kit. Then, on the wheel, instead of mines you have an 'x' button where if selected no supplies will be activated. This way, if you pressed the wheel you are not obligated to activate a supply. Right now the only way (to my knowledge) to close the supply wheel without choosing a supply is to drag your hand to the center, but that requires a lot of control ngl and it is also very easy to overshoot. To have a cancel button would be more practical. Secondly, mine arts on mobile right now is so hard. You have to keep dragging down on the wheel, instead of spamming the mines button like on the old UI. with this idea making mine art is wayy easier. 

Also the devs could just add an option for mobile players to have the supplies on the center bottom of the screen like before, and just press on the icons to activate a supply. Thanks for considering.

I hope to expand the range of the steering wheel and control the forward and stationary rotation of the chassis, or increase the recognition circle. The large circle covers the small circle, and their distance is too close to always make mistakes, which makes it difficult to operate the tank better

If I somehow missed the way to do this, sorry, but I really think TO Mobile should be able to access the battle stats. I can't see them until the round ends and I'm looking at the rankings, and that's pretty useless. I'd much rather see the enemy's (and my own)  K/D scores, and equipment while I'm fighting. Not having acess to it also means I can't report anyone in-game, which gets really annoying. It could be as simple as adding to the settings menu so it doesn't clutter the main interface. Technically, if I connect to a keyboard I could press tab, but I don't usually carry around a keyboard for my phone, and I don't think that's common practice for others either.

Press the team score counter at the top middle of the screen.

I believe many mobile players will agree with me. The mobile app version of Tanki Online has not been working for a year. Now we can only play through the Chrome browser.

 

When it was first released, the performance was terrible, constant FPS drops and lag. It has gotten a bit better now, but still not good. Even on low graphics, the FPS is often unstable. My phone has a 2.7 GHz CPU and 6 GB RAM, which is much higher than the minimum requirements written on the site. Still, the game only runs at 40–60 FPS on small maps, and often drops to 10 FPS during critical moments.

Please try to better optimize the Chrome version, or if possible, bring back the old mobile app.

Another big problem is the recent auto-aim update. Making auto-aim the same for both mobile and PC is unfair. PC players have large screens and full control using both hands. Mobile users have small screens and only use two thumbs. Aiming on mobile is much harder, especially because the same finger also controls the camera.

After this update, using Railgun on mobile has become almost impossible — especially for long-distance shots. Terminator (Juggernaut) is also very hard to use at medium and long range. Out of 4–5 shots, only one might hit the target. The current auto-aim settings are not bad for most mid-range turrets, but they make Railgun and especially Terminator nearly unusable on mobile(in higher mk versions).

Also, giving auto-aim to PC users made the game unbalanced. When this change happened, some people(Also, if I'm not mistaken, in the official YouTube video of Tanki Online) said that PC users were abusing mobile auto-aim by using Android emulators. This was said to be unfair — but now, auto-aim is given to all PC players directly, even without emulators. This gives them an easy advantage in battles.

A better solution to the emulator abuse would have been this: make auto-aim available only to players who enable touchpad control in the settings — not based on the device (PC or phone), but based on input type. This would have prevented abuse without making things unfair for mobile players.

And giving auto-aim to mobile is not unfair — it is a form of positive discrimination, because mobile users are already at a clear disadvantage in control and aiming. Removing that advantage only makes the gap between PC and mobile even wider.

Please test the game more on mobile and fix these issues. Also, remove auto-aim support from PC completely, and at least return the old auto-aim system for mobile in regular matchmaking (MM).

I think you misunderstood what I meant.

The app I’m referring to is the old native mobile app, which had its own engine and interface, it hasn’t been supported for about a year.

What’s currently on the Play Store is not a standalone app anymore; it’s just a wrapper that loads the browser version (basically Chrome) inside an app shell.

I don't really know the exact difference. You can decide. I just want these problems to be noticed and fixed.

Regarding matchmaking, nerfing it on mobile and giving it to PC is something I also don't really understand, but there is still no room for such aim assistance in eSports and Railgun Master, no matter the platform you're on. No game does this. We already suffer enough because of those funny scripts people use.

Do you think playing on mobile is better than playing on PC? I don’t think so.

It’s pretty clear that PC players are happy with the recent changes. They can now aim much more easily and have a clear advantage over mobile users. Naturally, they’re doing everything they can to make sure things don’t go back to how they were.
