What positive things do you want to see in Tanki Online?

Soo... more pathetic gold diggers abandoning defense during gold? No thanks! 

Abandoning defense for a gold box is honestly, a very bad move in team battles, especially when the result is tied but there is nothing that can be done by TO to "solve" that problem (if it is even a problem). Gold boxes are the part of TO that many players love, and you cannot stop players from leaving their positions when the gold box is about to drop. It also irritates me, but what can we do? I played many battles, and my team often lost battles because of gold boxes that dropped at crucial moments.

However, some things can be fixed . If I had a chance to pick what is better between gold box supplies (current gold box mechanism) and gold boxes dropping without any notification as a surprise, I would surely pick the second option. Now, you have situations where for example, you can destroy the battle's flow by dropping gold boxes. After someone drops a box, the players will flood the chat with requests to drop it again. No one would want to fight for a point, flag or ball. Even without the supply, with the current mechanism, the battle flow immediately stops after the siren. Imagine if we removed the siren and made the gold box extremely rare, of course that some players would rush towards the box when it appears and I agree, it is also a distraction, but it wouldn't cause the "problem" that the current mechanism is causing now in many battles.

Making golds rarer will just cause more multing. However, I agree with removing the siren.

Well, making it rare so that it drops in 3 out of 10 battles (for example) won't cause huge problems.

My Question: Yes. What do y'all think about battery mission and how they work at the moment? What do you want to see changed/introduced about batteries and/or missions in Tanki Online 2019?

My Answer: I think that batteries should be a bigger reward in missions. Some missions are too hard for such a small amount (ex: 3 batteries for 500 score in battle) when the average Drone user uses upwards to 20 batteries per battle, it really is useless. I want to see this with missions as well. The only issue with missions is that they are too small. Actually, instead of bringing back XT missions (which they could in the "Main" challenges that will be introduced), why shouldn't you be able to get a weekly mission for a shot color that you do not already have? It will take some time to implement but it would be interesting :)

While I agree that missions do not reward enough batteries - due to over-value (cuz Buyers) - the usage is not even close to 20 per battle.

 

Drones use 1 battery per minute and battles are now... 7 minutes long.  So if you have your drone equipped before battle starts, the maximum # batteries you can use is... 7.

As everyone else, I'd like to see tighter rank brackets. However, now that M3s are unlocked 2 or 3 ranks lower, that would no longer solve the problem. We can be faced with M4s way below Legend. 

 

I've learned that when the MM takes more than 1 minute 30 seconds to put a player in a battle, it may be due to the MM trying to find battles in empty servers. If there are empty servers why aren't they being used? It could shorten the wait time. 

 

I already decided to get Centaur when I hit to Brigadier... I did not want to but this gives me head-start on upgrading and compete with M4 Legend.

 

Yeah... the long waiting time happens mad common in Chinese server, since they had even less players. The smallest amount of players from there was 45. Literally.

 

To solve this empty server/long wait problem, bot tanks should be added. When there is no one in the queue or/and other rooms are full, matchmaking will put players in a battle that filled with bot tanks. Of course destroying their tanks will give you normal amount of crystal...

 

However bot tanks will be different than real player: Bot tanks does not have protection module and they cannot drop gold box. Those tanks will stay in battle until real player comes, that cause a random bot tank to leave the battle.

Wow. We had a discussion about this somewhere in the forum and I kept trying to tell you that 7 batteries are the MINIMUM you can use, NOT the maximum. If it were to be the maximum, then drones like Assault, Driver, Sprinter, Engineer and Supplier would be overpowered. The usage can go up to 20 if you're using a drone like Supplier.

I remember that convo and a Mod confirmed it was 1 battery per minute.  Maybe there have been some newer drones introduced that somehow devour more - but that was not the case back then.

 

Need a source that confirms > 1 battery / minute usage.

I think that the battle pass should be available for crystals, and that there should be no way to double your stars. It gives the buyers too much advantage.


I also think that the devs shouldn't have messed with the weekly missions. It was fine the way it was.

I remember that convo and a Mod confirmed it was 1 battery per minute.  Maybe there have been some newer drones introduced that somehow devour more - but that was not the case back then.

Ok, I'll play a battle or two and see if they changed this recently or something. I'll use the Supplier Drone for maximum results. 

 

 

Edit: Well I'll be damned. It's not consuming batteries for every use of the drone anymore.

Back when we first had that conversation, it used to deduct a battery from me for every use of the drone, including the 1 per minute. Now it's just per minute. I can now play with drones more comfortably because my mentality was that it deducted a battery for every use. I'm not entirely glad that's not the case anymore but at least everyone benefits from it. 

 

Edit 2: I can now use my Miner drone without fear that I might be wasting extra batteries.

So, the summation here is that batteries need to be fixed.

I believe that it should a battery should be deducted for every use + 1 per minute. It gives it its value in its high cost and ability to give you a considerable advantage in battles. I have more than 600 batteries and I can comfortably use them in battles to give my team an advantage. When my Incendiary Vulcan teammate's double armour runs out and he's under heavy fire, I give him another double armour immediately which increases his survivability thus decreasing the survivability of the enemy team. 

 

It also seems logical that it deducts a battery for every use as it powers up the drone then instantly drains the battery when the drone is used for its effect on the tank. And if the drone was not used for a minute, the battery slowly drains until after a minute, the battery is fully drained and replaced immediately by another one. It could work similar to Shaft's mechanic that depletes its energy bar no matter where between the minimum sniper damage and maximum sniper damage it shoots.

Overdrives are very nice. I want to see them get even better.

I love xpbp mode.

But it is true that there are a lot of toxic kids that play it too- ruins the game modes reputation

I have played with hornet about 90% of my tanki career. Mainly cuz I’m an xpbp player- :D

But this is definitely true that Viking is veryyy popular- especially after the new ODs

Why do you want clan chat to be modded? thats supposed to be your friend group or something similar.

 

xpbp can be toxic sure, but you cant legislate away human toxicity

 

Overdrives are nice...they were tough at first but I'm figuring them out. Idk, the game feels great currently

My Answer: I think in the years of 2019 - 2020, Tanki Online staff/developers will introduce more of these things, and maybe even think about bringing some things back. I don't agree with the fact that ideas to bring back/remove updates is always rejected. It's not logical. If you make a good game update, then switch to another one, why should you not be able to suggest alterations (changes) to that update, or at best, remove it?         

 

@ @KariWolves2....I read, not long ago, that once something is taken out of the game, the code is destroyed. That's why they don't bring back what has been removed.                                                                                                                                                                               

 

Yes, but real programmers (NOT SCRIPT KIDDIES) use a system called Git Source Control that enables them to restore code that was removed.
