Players leaving permanently have special Goodbye Party

Recommended Posts

When players leave permanently, everything in the garage is wasted. What a shame. I think when a player makes it "public" knowledge to the Community of their intentions of leaving Tanki permanently some of the garage items could be recycled.

List of items to be recycled:

Gold Boxes

All supplies including batteries

Crystals

This is my envision:

The player leaving makes the official announcement in a subform specifically for this purpose. A Party Map is opened up for this player to have a "Goodbye Party." The player can either choose to invite special friends or the Community-at-Large. Of course there will be limited room, so it's first come, first serve. A time is designated for this party and has to be held within 7 days of the official announcement. This gives the player time to rethink the decision. If the announcement is not officially made, then all items in the garage remains intact. If the player decides to leave and makes an announcement anywhere else in the forum, then no Party is implied and none is initiated. This also keeps the garage intact in the event that the player may decide to come back at a later date.

Time is set, map is open and the party begins. The player leaving presses the designated buttons for a massive drop of Gold Boxes, Supplies (including batteries) and a special key for dropping crystal boxes similar to the old blue ones. Example: Player presses key number 1 to drop all RKs, number 2 to drop all DAs, number 3 to drop all DDs, etc. Since party time is limited, the player can't drag this out for a long period of time. If the drops aren't made within a certain time limit, then the game mechanism takes over and does a massive drop. This is to prevent the player from starting the drop one minute or less before the party officially ends.

After the party time is up, the map is closed until the next player officially leaves.

Sorry, but this is not an original light bulb moment. I saw a similar feature in another multiplayer game. I made changes to better suit Tanki.

Declined

While the idea sounds cool, it falls under the same category as "selling of items", "sharing crystals", etc. It's terrible for the game's economy and all it does is give players more free stuff. The only end result of this is devs losing revenue, so there's no way it can happen without additional costs for the players.

I understand, it was worth a try.

Had this been the other game, we would be dropping hulls, turrets, paints, drones, modules, etc.....Clean out the garage, Son.

Aww yeah, can't wait to catch me the Sledgehammer Rounds alteration just lying on the floor.

That would have been pretty interesting to experience but that's a lot of stuff that needs to be dropped, and then that creates a whole new wave of diggers randomly asking high-rank players to leave and do this celebration so they can get parts they put no effort into getting except collecting a box or however it's going to fall.

Whatever happened to that feature where when Tanki catches a hacker, they distribute the crystals they had to all of the players in Tanki? Did they stop it for the same reason you stated above?

If I recall correctly, it was just a one-time thing. And I'm pretty sure it was just a generic compensation to all players for having to endure the hacks, rather than actually taking crystals from hackers' accounts and giving them to the other player.
