I have a WO5 account with 2 fully mu'ed m1s. I'm planning on buying and mu'ing Gauss m2 when I reach that rank. Crystals are not a problem at all.

Good or bad idea?

Can you really go wrong with M3s at ? :D

I have it m2.4 now on my alt, expected it to be better tbh... I'm first Lieutenant.

M2 is relatively weak - will probably seem better with a few more upgrades.

My Lt. Gen has m2.9.  Only feels underpowered when facing Gismos and Legends.

So, right now I'm finding Gauss to be easily the turret that kills me the most. I've been one shot by it even with DA. Have you all experienced the super high damage

What hull are you using?

Maybe the enemy has Hornet OD activated?  Tried that combo and got lots of kills easily on maps that provide good camping spots.

Light hulls can be one-shotted on equal footing by Gauss. If you have DA and the Gauss has DD, or both of you have no supplies active, the Gauss has a wide enough damage range to be able to one-shot you. And it's worse if your light hull is M3 and their Gauss is M4.

If you're using a medium hull with DA, then it's either the Gauss is using Hornet's Overdrive, or the Booster Drone.

I'm a gauss player and I average 10-14 kills a battle. Gauss is deadly because of a good reload rate and no laser on aiming mode. Avoiding this turret is tough but not impossible. Avoiding gauss is like avoiding a sniper in real life. You have to keep moving. However, just that isn't enough. Moving from cover to cover can trow off some gauss aiming at you. It also annoys the gauss player aiming at you, as I've experienced. And yes, if the player who killed you is using Gauss-Hornet with a DD and active OD, you're dead no matter what hull you use. Even mammoths can be one-shotted by a gauss few MUs higher and DD. I've done that and wasted people's freshly activated DA.

P.S: I don't have gauss on this account. I'm only using this for the forum as the account on which I actively play is a Google-based account: The_ArcticWolf.

The Gauss turret spits white-blue colored lightening when a super shot or sniping shot is fired..

i propose a different type of shot effect for this turret.. which the devs may put into containers..

it is-

when the super shot is fired.. you will have a similar lightening effect but with a smoke ring coming out of the turret in the direction of the shot.. tell me if you think this is cool...

this will also make Gauss more distinguished.. and make it's location more identifiable for the enemy.

I have another Idea. You know the new thunder prime, the barrel moves with the recoil. That would also look nice on gauss. I also want shot colours added for the turret.

Not true. Gauss, like Magnum, has a very wide damage range. The only hulls that will guaranteed be one-shotted is light hulls. Gauss is capable of making unlucky shots, and so medium hulls can still survive. I mean, I have many medium hulls survive because I get unlucky shots on them.

Thanks for pointing it out. I get good shots on gauss more often than not and I have one-shotted heavies, so I said so

It's my current go-to weapon. Really fun to use, especially because the one being locked on has no idea.. Packs a hefty punch and gets the job done.

I deem modules as useless nowadays thanx to hornets OD. So no point in getting it since I know what will happen anyway.

I see enough Dictators and Titans with Gauss to make having some protection worthwhile, but sometimes I wonder why I bother

I think Gauss is an abomination
