How many upgrades does your Gauss have? Its statistics at M2 are relatively low, hence the low price at the M2 modification.

Having it at M2 10/10 is great...but mainly for the arcade shots, not really the sniper shots

Right now it's m2.2 - I usually wait for sales to MU - and never use speed-ups.

Oh that's just great   I bought it mostly because they claimed it was a sniper turret. Thank goodness I only wasted 74k on it.  <_<

10/10???  it just came to garage and we've had 1 sale day for MUs... you must have spent a wack of crystals to get it to 10/10 that quickly.

No no no, I didn't (couldn't) buy it at M2. I was just saying that since the statistics change from M2 to M3 is high, upgrading it to M2 10/10 is desirable if you want better results.

And the only Gauss I have is the M1 version and it's currently M1 9/10 going on 10. Yes, I upgraded and sped up the process during the MU sale. I had many gold boxes I dropped for myself to increase my budget. It was mainly to see how good M2 Gauss is three ranks before its M2 modification unlocked. It's not really that good. It's fun to play but I get better scores with Vulcan.

What is Gauss meant for?

Meant for causing massive damage to one with a little collateral to those close by.

It would be too OP if it were a one-shot killer in targeting-mode - just like the old Shaft was before they added the laser.

Gauss appears to be a natural predator - picking off the injured and weak.

On the splash damage, best bet is that it was nerfed so it would not cross over to the specific characteristic of Thunder and Magnum.

If Gauss had all those powers/numbers combined from those turrets, it would make Thunder, Shaft, and maybe Magnum obsolete.

I'm actually glad that Shaft is still the one that causes the most damage in one-shot.

OH... well... yeah... if you are ahead of the curve on the equipment side it tends to perform better.

I don't think anyone is suggesting Gauss replace Shaft with ability to do something like kill a medium hull of same m-level.

I was suggesting it have ability to kill a light hull of same m-level - the relatively long aim-time + reload time justifies this.

Or give it a completely different mechanic - like replace splash with a brief stunning effect on sniper-mode.

As is it does a bit of a lot of things but nothing really well, IMO.

Gauss should be given the ability to one-shot a light hull on equal footing in the lower modifications since that sniping shot reload is heavy in the lower tiers. The sniping damage range becomes wider as you progress throughout the tiers. Being able to one-shot light hulls without double damage makes it able to one-shot heavy hulls with double damage. So to be safe, I would increase the sniping mode damage to figures where you'd have to hit above the average damage to one-shot the light hull and just increase the higher tiers' figures to deal significant damage against them, say...1,900 for the most at M4. I tried to create figures but there were too many things to factor in.

Gauss is super annoying when it comes to the gold box. There was one on highway. I was about to get the box. But I hear that coilgun noise and the next second I’m literally thrown off the road/bridge. Impact force of the gauss is crazy when some one else gets hit next to you!

Yes, that's what the "explosion impact force" parameter does. All splash damage turrets have this parameter, but it is more pronounced on Gauss and Magnum and it is a defining feature of Gauss. I got invited to a Silence battle where someone was dropping golds. One of them was dropping near one of the three ramps on the left side of the blue base. I locked on to a Wasp that was ahead just ahead of the others and when I shot, the players behind the Wasp got pushed back . Someone had cursed me in the chat when that happened.  :P

I love its impact, though.

Ok guys this is getting off topic

How is LOL off topic? Okay, maybe that in itself is not exactly on topic, but the appearance of Gauss is very much on topic. It is the appearance of Gauss, and that is on topic. Catch-22 reference.

Nice story! I managed to duplicate your feat earlier today on rio!

Rip me. Gauss annoyed me a lot but I managed to get it 16/20. The extent of druggers are insane!! I can’t even play correctly. So I wasted 6k and got firebird m1. :(

In my honest opinion i think "Gauss" is a weird name , but the turret itself is intresting , the only problem i sse with after buying it is the short ranged shot , its seems like it is too fast , and misses a tarket thats almost infront of it,. Another thing to point out with this turret , it is indeed a true snipping weapon, issue is that it can find anyone camping no problem , i mean if someone has good bush cover it will find them without you ever having to know they were there. Now idk how this the turret relates to an owl, idk maybe its closer to a cobra than an owl. N one last thing to inplment with the turret itself, M2 is too cheep! 79k is nice but for that type of weapon it sould be maybe 90 or 85k just my opinion.

-Thanks matt

It seems Gauss has a very narrow vertical range.

It seems Gauss has a very narrow vertical range.

Its upward auto-aim is 7 degrees (very small) and its downward auto-aim is 10 degrees (not really small considering that Shaft has a lower number for this (apparently)).

what do you mean by this?

Are you referring to...

Reload?

Projectile speed?

I don't see Gauss Product Kits on the Russian WIki so I'm going to predict the hull combos using its price and unlock ranks:

M1    Gauss + Hornet

         Gauss + Viking

         Gauss + Dictator

M2    Gauss + Dictator

         Gauss + Hornet

Gauss + Hunter (this one might be a stretch)

M3    Gauss + Viking

         Gauss + Titan

         Gauss + Hunter
