hopper must be good....you have 1 mil xp on it already!

I would be interested in an in depth analysis of the pro's and cons of ares vs the other heavies

Now during this, new test which was launched today, i checked out all hulls, and found out that all hulls healt points got doupled, exept ares. Why in the world would you do that for?? now it iis in the same class than light hulls, exept it is the slowest hull at speed and turning. or is this just a clich, and u did the right thing and it compeates in heavy class with 8k healt?

Two things I have to say about Ares:

1. Not enough people use it's overdrive to heal teammates.

2. Not enough people use it's overdrive to make attacking teammates invincible (just fire your ball towards your enemy's flag and have a teammate move along the ball) ?.

I'm proud to be one of the people who actively heal with the OD. At least for my team's Juggernaut, because in his case it's actually really useful cos you can quickly heal him to full with the OD.

But there's an obvious reason why people don't  do it — there's no score for healing people with OD compared to killing enemies.

If only my Juggernauts would just stay still or at least follow the ball.

Speaking from personal experience, I use the ares with the vulcan. I am amazed bye the endless possibilities streaming from this one set up alone. Acting as a middle-fielding support tank, chipping away large chunks of health very opponents to assist team kills or kill 1hp tanks scores alot of points and can save you and your team from difficult scenarios and is my favored playing style. Using this the with the fire immunity and fire rounds augments is a very formidable set up not only granting immunity to firebird and overheat, but quickly set enemies on fire. This can be very suitable for shoot n hiding situations. Other long range support weapons- most notably shaft and gauss- are good combinations too. Overall I think guass is a really great vehicle and as many ways to counter its disadvantages. The only concept I don't appreciate is the slow speed the overdrive projectile has.

You mean after-burn right?      Cuz it does nothing about the main attack from firebird...

Ares OD travels in a straight line. Hovering hulls get slightly elevated from the back when moving forwards - thus, their front is just a little closer to the ground than the hulls' backs.

This is why Ares OD travels slightly downwards. I have noticed that if we keep the hull perfectly parallel to the ground the OD will not travel downwards.

So, next time you need to use the OD on flat surface remember to keep your hull still and parallel to the ground and only then release the OD.

Same thing with crusaders icicle.

I don't know what you think about Ares, but this game need to nerf ares HP. because look it looks like ares have bigger HP then titan and mamonth. f.x. in TJR mode when ares mk7+MU activate defender drone, juggernaut cant killing with aiming mode, damagae is 573 alwyas. and juggernaut needs 2 aiming mode an one railgun shot, sorry two railgun shot to killing ares with defendet. it is so uncomfortable  ?

Can this awful OD be nerfed already? Ares Overdrive went from useless into something C-word worthy. Sometimes I turn a corner just after I respawned with full supplies, but an Ares ball is flying nearby and somehow it manages to hit me and kill me even if I use the repair kit as a desperate attempt to survive. 

 

Actually, ALL ODs need to be toned down by A LOT.

Respawn #1: killed by Ares OD... ok. Respawn #2, killed by Hunter OD... alright. Respawn #3, a Hopper jumps behind me and kills himself but kills me too because pressing a button and dealing 3k damage is fair. GOOD. Respawn #4, a Viking spams his OD from basically the other Map and kills me... Is this a joke I am way too old to understand?

 

Do the Devs even play their own game? .. oh wait, by judging by the performance of the latest Youtubers Vs Devs event, they don't play that much at all...

Unfortunate reality is the otber OD are now forceful counters to it. They'd rather make intermittent hard counters than actually toning it down apparently.

Why tanki do not nerf this OD ? This OD is like combination of 2-3 overdrives of other thanks together.... this is so stupidly OP when we compare it with any other OD and yet still no nerfed....  Radius of that ball giving HP and DMG is soooo stupidly big.  It gives too much dmg to withstand with any tank in game.... maybe full upgraded heavy tanks will end up with 500HP after, not to mention ball will explode and give 4K dmg to anyone in radius if it hit object. 

1. It can Heal all the teammates and also user alone.... 

2. It can dmg all the enemies in line and it goes slowly giving too much dmg with too big area of effect. 

3. It can explode when hit object giving dmg same as wasp OD... 

 

seriously just give it ability to slow people down/stun them, giving supplies to allies and it has almost all the ODs combined in one... its runing game.. its just not about strategy when you can just send it through all the way across map and annihilate everything in its way and at the same time heal all your allies... wasp,crusader,palladin,titan healing ODs in one...  jesus if you wanna it OP dont make it so obvious

New changes to the hovering tanks has totally changed my game play.  I can NOT steer the Ares worth a darn.  Therefore, I just cannot use that hull unless Im in a map where I can keep my tank plastered against a wall (with great effort).  Not happy.   I generally use Dictator and Ares exclusively. Now I'm stuck with only Dictator.

Those who do not have the OD of the Ares do not understand what it takes to wait for it, and then shoot it.  So often it doesn't work as planned (as another said with the angle of the hull when moving) and also when someone bumps you... the OD is worthless then. For me, the seldom times it does work is well worth using this hull (except I can't now because I cannot steer it.)
