What Is Your Opinion About the Current State of Tanki Online?

TO must quickly turn off the flashplayer. In html it should be more difficult to cheat... 

 A '' friend '' of mine was thinking of recording his screen while cheating, to show everyone how easy it is and that you are not banned (he has been doing this for 1.5 years). When he does, can I post the video link here? I am afraid of being punished for publicizing a hack, but I will take precautions to blur the name of the software.

I'd suggest contacting the moderators first as any hack is forbidden. However, if you would like to share for research purposes, I guess it is fine. Do it at your own risk, there may be reports.

Please send your video evidence of your "friend" using 3rd Party Cheats to the Game Violations Reports section of the Forum, or contact me or another Forum Moderator/Administrator with your evidence, so that we can take the appropriate actions. Thank you!

One thing that is nice for hackers is that any time anyone is even sorta using a hack, (which I have yet to see) someone will yell "speed hacker" in chat so the hacker knows to stop

The real question for Battle Moderators, though, is:

"Is that just a Wasp Mk7 fully-micro-upgraded, or is that player using speed hacks? "

It is funny you say that. Literally got out of a battle where someone yelled speed hack and saw a wasp zip by...really fast, but then again...wasp is really fast. We barely won so I cant see the enemy using hacks. 

A lot of time I see someone yell hacker and I look at the alleged hacker and they have like 80 points and have 6/13 k/d or something...I dont think that person is hacking

We never know when someone is truly hacking. A funny visual bug I see in the HTML5 Client, is sometimes when I just join a battle, some random guys' turret spin really quickly 360 degrees multiple times. I once thought it was a hack.

If Tanki Online made a simple update to add a Group Mode Suggestion panel while grouping in MMS, would it be convenient for the game? For example, you’re not the group leader, and normally you can’t even see the buttons for the battle mode we are playing. With this you can click it, but it sends a notification to the group leader on which mode you want to play. The notification would read, “Example has suggested to play CTF.” Would this be cool? I’ve seen this in other games and it’s a decent Quality of Life addition.

Weird to see people discussing cheaters. Whever I complained about cheaters in the past I was quickly shut down, told it wasn't possible and that it was down to lag.

The amount of deception in this game is staggering. People who still spend money here must need their heads checking. I can only assume they are children and simply don't know any better.

My opinion of the game has not changed - it's crap and a shadow of it's former self. I am logging in less and less these days, I don't even need to force myself to quit anymore.

Couldn't agree more!

I don't remember the last time I've even used the exploitative MM system in Tanki, the rare time when I do log in it's usually just looking for a pro battle.

       Yes indeed, I see money has bought you all the skill that need. quite a profile for some with the amount of hrs you have. Thats what this game has been all about for the last 4 yrs, money tactics...........

Haha I wish I could I purchased skill, but nope. In fact "Potdindy noob out" is my nickname in battles sometimes, so idk if I have much skill. I have spent a decent amount, yep...I enjoy exploring the various parts of the game and dont have years and years to play. If sharing accounts wasnt against the rules of course, I would say that a friend had spent twice as much on other people in the game as himself, so that they could enjoy different parts of the game faster, but it is, so I won't, and the friend obviously didnt.

Only 17 people have voted...when the poll gets to 100 people, or maybe 1000, then we can take it serious. I dont doubt more people will be in the "on edge" category. Most ppl I know, really dont like the MM battles, whether the matchmaker or unnecessary changes.

I chose "Hate It", but, the truth be told I am more or less between On the Edge and Hate It. Abet, much closer to the Hate.

I have been playing TO since 2014.  I have many handles that I use(d) to play: Gunny_Bates, USMC_Tank_Driver, USMC_Tank_Gunner, USMC_Tank_Loader, plus many forgotten because the TO developers felt the need to delete Friends who were inactive from player's Friends lists plus I am much too old to just remember them off-hand.  Having invested some five to six years of one's life into something.  It is one's desire to see it grow and not fail.

Yet, I have witnessed the player numbers drop massively and then ebb and flow based upon the updates that the developers roll out.  Some of the updates make reasonable sense.  Unfortunately, too many of them do not.  For example, why does the damage delivered from Smoky less in further distances that up close and personal?  I served in the United States Marine Corps.  I can attest to the fact that the rounds are just as lethal at 100 meters as they are at 4000 meters.  The only major difference is accuracy.  So, in battlefield such as Massacre where Shaft players like to take a corner.  There should be no reason why Smoky players should be causing minimal damage to this opponent.  

I get it. I truly do. Many of the decisions are business ones.  Hooray, capitalism!!!  

Well that's my little soap box for now. I am sure that I have more to comment on.  But, I need to see about blowing some things up.

Post again, but make some good argument why you are closer to hate. I understand where you are, as I'm at over 2 years myself, but smoky doing less damage at range is not a convincing argument to dislike a game  I'm sure you have better ones

List of issues in no particular order.

Much higher ranks being "matched" with lower ranks in Matchmaking.
Bushes and other objects obstruct camera view during target acquisition and engagement.
Spawn killing was an issue before. But, this new damage cooling period is ridiculous.  Lose mines and tanks to invincible spawned tanks.
Was specializing the Overdrives really necessary?
Buyers buying gear that their rank is not rated for.
If we have to deal with Alterations.  It would be nice to be able to upgrade them too.
Matchmaker, matchmaker, matchmaker... need I say more?  It blows to be stuck in battles with skill-less buyers or spazs because you are trying to complete your daily's, weekly's and challenges.  I really just discovered the joy of the battle list.  It brings a player back to the days when tanki was actually fun and players had some marginal skills.

Just a few thoughts that come to mind.  I am sure if I really sit down and invest some more time I can come up with many more.

Are you saying a tank shell hitting a target at extreme range would penetrate just as well as a shell fired at point blank range?

KE=m(v-squared).  Mass does not change over distance, but velocity certainly does.

Maybe for HE you are more correct, where the explosion deals a lot of the damage. 

But not for a kinetic AP shell.  Smoky fires AP.  Maybe you can consider the critical hit a HEAT shell... but the rest are AP.

 

Instead of your shots having % chance of not penetrating and doing no damage, they've averaged it out by saying all hits penetrate, but the damage is leveraged with distance. Works out to same thing in the end, but it's less boring than not doing any damage most of the time.  Go play Shaft - that does consistent damage with each penetration - if you want more realism (in a game with freeze tanks)

    so far you have dead on the nail. and yes there are several if not many other reasons this game has been ruined by mistakes/bad ideas that will never be admitted to making.
