Hmm, indeed it should not - at least, not normally. Warrant Officer 1s can only purchase up to a Mk4 kit in the shop, and so the maximum possible GS that player should be able to have while wearing a Mk3-1 smoky module is 4895:

However  with some detective work, I came up with this explanation:

Back when the Mk Conversion happened, anyone that had maxed out equipment on an M level got the stock equipment of the Mk level equivalent to the following M level, allowing them not only to have equipment that's no longer obtainable at their rank, but also to upgrade it.

 

Checking that player's garage, they have Smoky Mk6 and Viking Mk5, indicating they bought the "Striker" kit back in the day, upgraded Viking and Smoky to M1-10, and then didn't do much for a while. Mk conversion took their existing equipment to a more powerful/later unlocking version, and then they came back and upgraded it.

 

Still not sure how they got Smoky Mk6, maxed M1s were only taken to Mk5... Maybe Smoky M2's old unlock rank was Warrant Officer 1? That seems really early

Yep, Smoky M2's old unlock rank was definitely not WO1.

IIRC the first unlocked M2 was Freeze M2 at WO5.

Scored both goals... lots of Hoppers on the other team... nice to see a camping Shaft (no prizes for guessing who) on the other team contribute to them losing instead of having one on my team (but we had a Magnum camper though)

The Mk Conversion gave Smoky Mk6 0/10 to very low ranks who had Smoky at M1 10/10. Here's an old picture (which also fits this topic) showing that the unlock Rank for Smoky M2 was Colonel:

However, the Mk Update led to the "problem" that people who did not have Smoky M2 10/10 receive the same strength as low ranks that upgraded their Smoky M1 to 10/10. We both can "only" upgrade to Mk6 10/10 now. Rip, especially because my upgrades were way more costly then theirs 

I wish there could be another conversion like that, because now I am ready

At long last, the rare pool of my containers is empty! Now, every time I get a rare it will be something of solid value - no more paints I'll never wear.

I bought 30 Ultra Containers separately (15x2) because I figured that it was cheaper than the <Fortunate> bundle, and I'm not really interested in participating in the giveaway. Loving the 50% sale. (Even though I'm broke now :x )

From the first set of 15 Ultra Containers, I got the AP augment for Shaft from the last container, but I couldn't get a screenshot. From the second set, I got these three amazing augments:

Stun Immunity for Hunter, AP Rounds for Railgun, Jammer Immunity for Ares, all of which were welcome because I didn't have any augments for Railgun and Ares, and had both resistances along with Cold Immunity for Hunter. No regrets. :D
