If you look in the Let's Discuss Vulcan thread, you'll see 3 videos of me playing Wasp Vulcan with the new settings. Vulcan is a special case. As a key, when the button on the right hand side is red, it means my Vulcan is shooting/revving to shoot. If the button is grey, it means it is spinning down to stop or is not shooting. That button for Vulcan specifically is to toggle between firing and not firing. 

 

For Twins, Striker, Gauss, Magnum and Shaft (these turrets also have the button), pressing the button does this:

 

Twins: It locks the turret in firing mode, essentially if a PC player had a brick on the spacebar.

 

Striker: It shines the laser for target acquisition

 

Gauss: It goes into sniping mode for target acquisition

 

Magnum: It starts charging the velocity of the shot. 

 

Shaft: It goes into sniping mode. Pressing the button again during sniping mode will fire the shot. 

 

Every other turret has no shoot button and will look like this on the screen.

Vulcan's button starts and stops the revving. For Vulcan It's like an on/off button.

Whose idea was that? After spending a tons of hours to get crystals to upgrade my magnum, now it's useless. Pretty unfair. 

You should get back the old magnum or at least give the option to choose between the old and the new version. There may be some idiots who likes this, but people who used magnum as it should, they surely dislike it.

I agree with this wholeheartedly.

The main reason I even still play to this day is for parkour, so that's why I maxed out my Magnum and bought the RGC augment. Now that the gun is basically useless in its horizontal mode and the physics engine/gravity has been somehow ruined in this update, I'm very frustrated that I've wasted hundreds of thousands of crystals on something that would basically be useless by one update.

Sure, I could still parkour with the gun, but it's nowhere close to the strength it had before. It's even worse than Thunder in most cases, which says a lot.

Shaft has a short range pistol. It is useless beyond 30 meters. Also, the pistol's reload is long. Hence, it is well balanced. With the rapid fire augment, shaft is powerful. But, it doesn't kill your tank in one single shot like old RGC magnum.

It can fire 3 shots quickly, during which you can retaliate back. You can also try to run out of range (30 meters). It will deal a quarter of damage to you because it's minimum damage beyond max rank of 30 meters is 25% or a quarter of normal damage of a pistol shot.

Well,I will practice magnum,and become a mgnum master lol.

I specially bought the "Reinforced Gun Carriage" to let the Magnum turn to "left" and "right" ,and now you have changed the Magnum completely and made him look useless ?.

YOU GUYS HAVE 2 OPTIONS :

1) To change the Magnum again to how it used to be .

2) Give me the Crystals that I have wasted on  "Reinforced Gun Carriage"  .

(Please choose # 1, as it's the only option that makes sense ) ...

I meant range as in metres, not damage. 

Ha, my bad, i did not know that was the case. In that case this is bad for all turrets with maximum damage range, especially for smoky as the critical damage do not falter with the distance.

Well, it's not so true. 

If this new magnum is intended to be a long range turret, so why can't I just shoot over the field e.g. on massacre map with 100% power? I can shoot with this 12% elevation and 100% power maybe just halfway through the field.

So, it WAS a long range weapon until last update, but now it is NOT a long range weapon any more. It's a "useless range turret".

Well if you bought RGC then you have both options available.  Unequip RGC and it will do what you want.

It is a terrible feature you can't even shoot for fun, or to stabilise your hull when jumping from cliffs. We should have the possibility to shoot when no tank highlighted.

ETA: Double tap doesn't work for Smoky turret for some reason. ?

I occasionally use it to warm up my railgun before coming out of cover to fire. It worked brilliantly in Hopping Railgun DM mode where I initiated my railgun charge up by double tapping, then used Overdrive to hop up in the air and mobile aiming assistant took care of landing my shot on a poor enemy tank.

I actually use double tapping method to use magnum, Shaft and Gauss sniper shots. It works well.

I like how shaft arcade shot is automatically fired when it faces an enemy in its range. It definitely helps with short ranged defence. For long range I have no problem initiating scoping mode by double tapping..

But yes, Tanki shouldn't have rolled out this update without giving players the option to revert back to old controls.

Because now thunder works so bad that it hurts my tank more than the enemy. 

Double tap is working with Railgun, Thunder and Hammer, but not with Smoky.

I was pinned to a wall by an enemy Dictator, while I was using Gauss with DD. All I could do was look on helplessly, as I killed myself. The Dictator got destroyed a second later by a teammate using Berserk reactor of his Viking. Which means, had I waited a few seconds without shooting to avoid self damage, that Dictator would have been destroyed. 

The inability to not shoot is also bad for turrets like Railgun, that have long reload times. I end up shooting an OP player, while a 1-shot Wasp darts past me a millisecond later.

I really like the new showcase. Now I can get a gold box (1000 crystals) for free in the shop. Take a look at how cool that is:

This is a must have reward. A gold box worth of crystals for free. I simply like it. Thank you so much for the newly improved showcase shop. This is very beneficial for non-buyers and very low ranked accounts such as Recruit players.

Pffft, you can earn that amount of crystals by playing one single MM match, which takes you like 6 minutes?

  • It does not benefits non-buyers because what can you do with 1k crystals?
  • It does not benefits low ranked accounts, because we are now earning x4 XP, which players will not stay in "low ranks" for more than a few days.

Well good luck, the Devs said we can refresh the shop "right now" in the V-Log, while in fact they meant 1 week later. Same goes for the option of disabling auto shoot, what do you think the Devs actually mean when they were talking about "soon"?
