Are you sure you understand how it works now?

You need LOS on target(s) in order to "break" their armor.

Because your OD is no longer "god-like"?

Learn to use it strategically like the rest of us using other hulls have done.

Gauss is already the best turret in the game. Works decent on every hull. It is most popular with Viking and Hornet.

Despite of the introduction of Armor-Piercing, Hornet's mechanics have not changed drastically. It functions not too different than prior to this update, however you need to be more strategic when activating your overdrive. And since the update has been rolled out some hours ago, I cannot tell if this update has had any impact on the usefulness of combinations so we will have to see how it will change the META. 

Anyways, medium to long-range turrets always work well with Hornet: Smoky, Thunder, Railgun, Gauss and Magnum are good choices; Vulcan, Striker are also optional if you are good at using them. But since you already have a lot of turrets, just try to find out what suits you best

The driving force behind these horrific updates is due to TO jumping the PC ship for the greener (yet volatile) pastures of the Mobile market. There is no other logical explanation for the dumbing down of gameplay to a contest of paywalled gear and gaudy luck, because let's face it - mobile gamers don't have the bloody time nor effort to play TO in the traditional sense.

What I am seeing here is an intentional culling of the "old-timer" and "outrage" demographic to make way for the naive newcomer on smartphones (less negativity and bad reviews, easier to fool and retain newbies). Only time will tell if TO's cable-company maneuver will work, but if you ask me? TO will have its 5 minutes of fame on Google Play before the next mobile fad sinks it to oblivion. They've had their chance to learn about relevancy and competition from Tanki X, but it seems otherwise with this kind of hubristic expansion.

I could spend more hours listing all the foolishness of TO's decisions, but before I get carried away with such a pointless task I will just leave this metaphor to the devs:

Don't come running back to an ex you dumped while chasing tail

 

 

I am now putting you in the TOTALLY SENSIBLE PLAYERS LIST. (we are few in numbers) but loyal to the anti corruption cause which battles against greed and neglect. you are amongst the very few of us that actually get what the GREEN EYED MONSTER (the devs) is trying to achieve.

Head honcho GOMEZ (hazel) along with his sidekick UNCLE FESTER (marcus) constantly spew out garbage about BALANCE, listening to player feedback, then come out with another way to make even more cash from their P2W minions, by gifting said MINIONS with more OP gear to fill their garage with. 

HORNET, FLYING CHEAT, ASTRONOMICAL SHOP PRICES, THE EVER GROWING LIST OF SCAMBOXES, only the P2W brigade and the little kiddies think all of these new updates are AWESOME.

 Players with Cash are the IQ equivalent of a deceased goldfish are the only ones who think the devs walk on water.

Throw in a few shot effects and some new skins and all is well in TO. <<<<<------- See above statement about deceased goldfish for the type of player that like these, and insist the devs devote more time to them, and don't bother about balancing the game out because HORNET and THE FLYING CHEAT are just fine the way they are.

No denying that Gauss is one of the strongset weapons in the game, if one asks for an effective weapon a best answer is Gauss

@Marcus This AP thingy is beautiful, but it half an half baked cake as usual, where is the Negative Status Effect that should appears on the top of the enemy tanks that has been affected by AP?
And I am not even talking about the other unfinished details like the HUD indicator and Overdrive icon for the latest overdrive...

These augments are too bad! how will I get them without buying ultra containers???? or to pay them on the future 5k Tankios (and do not try to be smart and say it's 4990...) 

Tanki is one of the best games I have ever played and yes they stil dont hear to the SIMPLE PLAYER!! not the buyers that crash us every time on MM Without any chance to survive... we will know everything after tomorrow V-LOG and see the likes compared to dislikes....

It means your tank has been affected by it, so another player has shot you with the Augment or a Hornet has their OD activated on you.

But according to what I have played till now, whenever I use Hornet's overdrive, it's only the prot hat it ignores. But most of the times, it doesn't even ignore the double armour. I have MK3 Railgun with Large Calliber Rounds (got it from container) and when I equip Double damage, I only do like 600 damage even when my overdrive is active. Means, Tanki?!?!? But this happens just most of the times, not everytime. I dunno if this is a bug or something

oi! My teamates say that I am a delightful folk. When I commit to a battle (right map and battle mode) I never leave even if we are losing.
And I have not made my MK7 combo to powerful I stopped at 7 MU and still have about a million crystals (+ got 63 unopened containers and 37 weekly containers). I also do not use my drone nor upgraded my Mk5 protection module. Even like this, the power made me sloppy, abusing the repair kits and mines. I am being very merciful :).

Honestly, I like the new Hornet overdrive. It's easier to dodge, and it's more interesting to use. It's more strategic and team based since you can make key players easier to kill for your team, and also it's one of the few overdrives whose effect is instantaneous. I also think the idea of putting a "curse" on players just because they were in your line of sight is kind of cool. It also barely affects my playing style, because I used to use it with Shaft like a power boost, and that hasn't changed. 

The only thing is that I'm going to hate whoever has AP immunity on. It's probably the most powerful hull augment by far now. 

The only people who will suffer from this retooling of Hornet are those that used it to go berserk and kill a dozen player in a row, and frankly I won't miss that, because I was neither good enough to do it reliably myself, nor very keen on facing people who were doing it.

It shows it in purple colour on tanks that have been hit with the Turret Augment with AP attack tech, but it is right I did not see it on enemy tank when using the Hornet OD, not really consistent.
