Mad Tanks!

Too soon to have formed much of an opinion on this experiment but a few things popped up.

Having Vikings sit perfectly still for 14 seconds makes them easier to kill.

If you have a couple of titans on your team in a capture game you'll win.

Double armour is too much.

I already miss the large maps. It took skill and cunning to play those maps well.

Mines will become much less effective which is a pity as they are a much under rated and under used part of the game.

20 seconds and 7 minutes before, 20 seconds and 5 minutes now. Tanki's maths doesn't addd up, proportionally we will be spending less time in battle and more time waiting.

Are you serious? XP/BP tanks are 4 shots...

I just entered the game today, map Sandbox, shot the opponent once, shot him twice, didn't die, I thought he was lucky with the 3 shots... He took the flag, I shot him 3rd time and he still didn't die, his teammates killed me, an easy cap....

I was never interested in MM, and right now too I am broke with like only 5000 crystals, and that's for buying pro pass, playing this game just for XP/BP. For God's sake do whatever you want to MM, but don't make changes to XP/BP... We are already suffering without funds there.... and with that Hopper hull...

Please read the first post of this topic carefully, as it explains that the test server would not be enough to get realistic results from changes this extreme. It had to be done on main servers.

not enjoying this new battle event..

see like I complained in forum event . timer is a huge issue. see normally we should be getting a full 7 minutes on the clock but in theory were only receiving 6 : 45 or less .. giving players less battle time..

for the event 2 issues

first Score page player list is way too small to see players names .

second the timer is not giving players a full 5 minutes of battle time.. again we loose..

Those players do not care about teamplay and communication. Some of them can not even move their turret, let alone give quick information in the chat. So, how to fix this problem you might ask? If you want teamplay - introduce a ranked 6v6 mode, allow group of up to 6 players. Those people will play together against other groups, they will have teamplay because they ARE a team, they are playing together and communicating through Discord for example. Random, casual players will just play in casual modes.

 Now, or even before the experiment, matchmaking teams are not real teams, they are just random players who play together not as a team, but as individuals. If you increase the HP even more, increase it 10 times, it will not change. There will be no teamplay in Tanki Online if you just change matchmaking settings. You have to introduce something new. What you did is not new. It is just messing around with numbers.

This update is good for casual players who are not good at the game, now they are dying slower. You already introduced the spawn protection for those people. Stop supporting them. If they want to play better - they should learn how to, and not wait for developers to incroduce another update that makes the game less dynamic. For me or other players who actively play the game and understand what is going on, this update just makes the game boring. Not bad, just boring. I can play a few CTFs, but not the whole day anymore. Like I used to do. I know this is only an experiment, but I do not like it. I will be happy if you remove it after two weeks and never come back to even think of something like this in the future.

If they are removing big maps and at the same time doubling the health for the faster smaller hulls, than they should remove the shaft(sniping) and heavier slower hulls from the game as well!  

It's no longer fun to play with shaft. The new changes mostly have nerfed shaft.

I've lost my interest for this game.

I'm going to add to Dosheg  comments

if players wanted to do team battles , this is what Pro passes are used for . leave the MM system in regular battles alone. just fix the timer..

for the Experiment..  I can't see this is one  staying. even if you tweak it . the game play is just not worth playing. see I now can finish my missions in less time then before , making me play less .

Absolutely.

Team-play cannot exist in a system where random players play together for very short periods of time. Honestly, there's no point in trying to induce team-play in MM.
Have you ever seen a team-mate drop a flag near your base, letting you get the points by capping? If yes, you can be 100% sure that that player plays Pro battles frequently or is an eSports player. 

Have you ever seen Dictators searching for teammates or calling out to them via chat when their OD is ready? It's rare. But it also happens for individual gain.

Have you ever seen tanks coming in the way of an enemy JGR's salvo to save their JGR? I think it almost never happens. 

 

Anyway, while playing MM, I rarely feel like playing for my team. The atmosphere is such that you can't afford to play for your team. You don't come in between the enemy JGR's salvo to save the JGR - you intercept those rockets only if you are sure that your JGR will die, and you'll hopefully die soon, in time to become the next JGR.

I feel team-play is not suited for MM. The closest you can get to team-play is grouping, but that too rarely helps.

 

As Viking4s mentioned, I think this experiment is more for bringing back players and slowing down / reversing the dwindling of the player-base, than inducing team-play. If it's true, it won't work.

so can someone plz tell me that in the event where all will be jgr would we be able to use supplies with jgr or our jgr will be just like the team jgr mode simple play and no double armor effect on that 20k hp and no double damage effect on that 3-3.5k turret damage??

I have a feeling that we will have to use our supplies. Also, the modification of JGRs may depend on the modification of the gear you had equipped before joining the battle.

This is what I feel.

But, during Hovering Railgun event, everyone had same equipment... so hopefully we may have the same equipment (of same modifiactions), and protection modules won't matter. However, supplies might play a decisive role.

It's all speculation on my part lol...

The test won't last until Mots Solo, it's just for 2 weeks.

so if we got to use supplies then ur jgrs will do 6-7k damage with turret shot if we hit a jgr with no double armor xD but imagine so many big tanks on a map gameplay is going to look a lot weird lol it will look like as if there is very less space on map

I find this experiment a big disappointment. 

This experiment, made the game unplayable, vastly. WIth this update the ability to enjoy the game has descented for me. Kills are impossible. No matter how hard you try, without the help of someone killing an enemy is simply impossible. This brings us to the main factor. The team cooperation. Yes, great idea, however impossible, people who camp all the time with their shaft and titan, just wont suddenly go and help you if they see you having trouble. If there were a voice chat for example, it could be considered. But this is nonsense. Then, the damage & health increase. Before the experiment implemented, the joy from killing was there, and I as a player had a feeling of simply a fast process where i kill players, they kill me and somehow the game ends with a winner and a loser. Now I find the whole game exhausting and tiresome. The 5 minutes per match feel like an hour. 

Next point is, KD. Keeping a KD of more than 1.00 is impossible (keeping 1.00 too if you do not have 9999GS), that is caused by less players in the match and less time.
And not to be only negative I like the fact u removed Highways, but thats just because i find the map awful. 

Conclusion: This update has made the game tiresome, slow and not fun. I personally feel that it should be removed after the trial period:

So my opinion is that the update is bad.

  1. The battles are 5 minutes long which is good I think, but the health points doubled make the game boring and slow. I also can't kill as many tanks per minute as before.
  2. Also I noticed that the GS colours are different (which I don't mind about), but also that the for ex. capture of a ball is not shown in the recent kill list in the top right corner.     I hope this is a bug so overall I don't find this thing that important.
  3. The viking overdrive for example is TOO long. It should be like max. 1,5 of the original time.
  4. I also noticed, that the matchmaking system is now a little bit broken. I hope it is a bug as well, but after this last update the battles can't fill even these 6v6 maps.                 (I am a legend rank and before the classic 7v7's were filled really quickly, also the number of players online is the same as before.)

Im a goldhunter and i couldnt care less about MM but they doubled hp so its harder to kill kids in parkour with my overpowered equipment(when i do get it which is black friday probs)  if this update were to be implemented so that would suck. Maybe only increase hp by 50% or something cuz doubling it literally makes it impossible to kill and weapons like smoky are literally rendered useless
