A refinement to the balance of turret Smoky and some of its augments are introduced:

 

Now the critical damage has a larger spread;

 

Added the velocity of the projectile: 500 m/s;

 

Decreased the initial critical shot chance from 0 to -0.5 for all modifications;

 

Reduced the minimal chance of a critical shot by -0.5 for all modifications;

 

Increased the maximum chance of a critical shot by 0.5 for all modifications;

 

Now, the critical shot chance spreads from 0.2 to 0.4 for all modifications.

 

Augments:

 

Augment «Armor-Piercing Rounds»: the applied status effect duration is changed from 5 to 3 seconds;

 

Augment «Assault rounds»: increases the speed by 200%;

Augment «Cryo rounds»: the damage of a critical hit decreases by 15%;

Overall I don't see that as buffing Smoky.  Might net out even... maybe.  Remember - no instant hit.

Smoky HD is a superb skin. I hope that this default skin will have special effects of empty magazine bullets being ejected from the turret once the shot has been fired. That should be something similar to Vulcan's Rubberized Rounds shot effect.

I simply cannot wait to see a special effect added to Freeze, Firebird and Isida. Those melee turrets needs improvements on their visual effects. The Freeze sound effect needs to become louder and sharper. Firebird needs a blue flame effect for MK7 and MK8 modification simply because of the visual effects of higher temperature. Isida needs proper visual effects for damaging enemies and healing allies.

Overall the two things that concern me is the ricochet mechanic that might make it more annoying than before, and the EMP and stun augments. At least the latter two are locked behind containers, but in my opinion EMP augments need to be nerfed, not standardized. I'll have to see how it behaves in a real battle.

Maybe an augment where you double-tap the space bar (like with Juggernaut) to activate a long-range (ball) shot?

  • Firebird long shot: fireball that splash-burns on impact
  • Freeze long shot: snowball that splash-freezes on impact
  • Isida long shot: something like a smaller but quicker version of the Ares OD

None of these long shots should cause major damage but should definitely kill anyone below 10% non-armored health

the game is devolveing from 2011

and this update will ruin the game please cancel it Please

im here for alot of years from 2009

you alredy ruind thunder completly and now smoky too

pleasee bad Update

and the skin is cancer and all the new augmens are cancer too

you just trying to trash the game more

I would like to be able to wear Smoky HD and Smoky XT at the same time. I thought that was possible. Why can we players be allowed to wear both skin variants at the same time?

Well I'm looking from point of view of smoky stuff available from general public.

Those other new augments should be thrown in trash bin

How are any of these augments effectively balanced.

Paralysing rounds - turn you into a sitting duck. All it will do is prevent hunter users from actually having much effect on the field when people try to avoid this.

EMP rounds  - creates a EMP salvo with a higher RPM, so you take an augment many think breaks the game and make it even more annoying. And again prevents hunter users from actually having much effect on the field. Bravo!

Rubberised rounds - WHY? you have 2 turrets that utilise this where it makes sense.

Explosive rounds - Again why? its now just a small thunder. Its not even vaguely related to critical hits its just thunder.

Sorted Ammunition - All thats been done is make it more reliable. How on earth is that balanced

Why have 5 brand new augments been added to smoky already extensive arsenal and nothing to any other turret, and barely balancing these new augments. I'm finding it really hard to keep invested any more, my hearts just not in it. Its impossible to enjoy when you cant predict how an opponent will fight. If you can't do that then losing is just frustrating and not a "i'll give it too him, it was a fair fight and he was better" moment.

It will definitely be a wait and see period but I maintain that these augments are not balanced and I honestly thing I'm about done with this game.

Well, when you use Cryo rounds you apply freezing effect, when you use Paralyze augment you apply stun effect

When You PLAN to solve the unbalance team.My team is almost always with low ranked players.

Don't help even I sum GS parameter nothing helps except to loose or go out from the game.

 

It not of use every weekend news and new hulls, weapons, augments and everything else,

but a huge problem stay unsolved.

this is what you comment for? see what you are doing the game and what matters to the players 

"oh it paralyze" 

maybe "oh its cancer" and "oh maybe we go back time 1 day"

Shards, what a lame name. As always devs thinking up new ways to get you to play more, rank faster, and be the usual canon fodder against the ever increasing OP garbage they bring into the game. 

Notice you still you gain more XP to cry in battle.

By not addressing this major problem more players will be ranking to quickly. End result, slaughtered in battle.

Never mind they gave you SHARDS, and lots of smoky gimmicks to take your mind off the devious con they are playing on you.

For the minority (P2W) have fun, for the majority (f2p) enjoy your useless scores in just about every battle you go into.

Wonder how many players have bought that MK2  ? with all the new shiny toys. 

What a JOKE.

Oops, silly me, forgot to mention the 100 ultra (?) containers. Enjoy your paints and speed boosts?

But now you can get one container per day without playing (just have to log in) and slowly build up a pile of supplies and crystals without earning any XP, more for watching ads on mobile

Patient players that don't take the bait of shards for missions could do very well

Still crazy though
