Don't forget the removal of chain lightning - it's a very significant disadvantage. You can't shoot through teammates, and if an enemy tesla shoots a ball in front of them, you'll be hitting the ball and dealing no damage.

Interesting assesment.
In my experience it feels as a kind of "win button" similar to helios back in the day (not counting big camper maps ofc).
Might be because I often play close range, I got used to blasters and always make sure to stay just in range but not to get blown up by them, so they dont seem like a much of an issue to me (plus lifeguard helps aswell ofc).

Lifeguard is a huge part. Blaster would fight well against this augment but lifeguard negates this. Obviously it negates all high damage effects but shock therapy can kill so quickly that extra life is duper important

Then it's probably a skill issue on my end.

That being said, I haven't had much trouble against this augment on the enemy team. They're about as dangerous as any other top-tier OP augment.

Basically. Simple as that.

I don't know why I see numerous comments here from veteran players but being nonsensical. I start to doubt that they're either very biased or moderator's created accounts.

Back in the time, 2016 and around, even buyers were admitting that their equipments are OP. Now.. as you see. Someone here suggest that Freeze and Isida are UP because they need to do 7200dmg/s like this augment. Sigh.

on the other hand, this augment is saving the game because it made the devs a lot of money. same thing happened with rico hyperspace and the advent calendar. they weren't so successful with nemesis from the tourney fund, but after seeing the financial success from this event, you should expect to see more pay to win augments in the future in these minigame events. 

they've historically always done this tactic. this is nothing new. OGs will remember the thunder-viking-emerald paint-supplies product kit dominating stadium matches lol. i will however agree that the power level of this tesla augment is overstepping the line a little.

This is probably the right take. I've started targetting teslas when I see them, and I can get lots of kills on them since, like you said, its short range. They still usually end up on the top of the scoreboard, but with the way augments are overpowered, what can we expect!

I consider my nonchalance about Shock Therapy a blessing because this is pretty stupid. It's also a practical (but also extreme) counterpoint to the "just keep your distance" argument against overpowered melee turrets/augments. A taser augment with 13m of stated range (practically 11-12m since Tesla has to hit the middle of the target's hull), causing this much negative feedback pretty much blows that out of the water.

Ok some updated thoughts. I think peoples responses ranging from "its not that good" to "its ruining the game" both make sense.

Im seeing shock teslas still topping boards, but thats ok. Ive figured some ways to deal with them, as have others.

Heres where its bad. Tanki is at its worst when one team spends the game spawn killing the other, and Shock therapy is most powerful in this place. Ive been in several games with two 9999 shock teslas spawn killing the enemy all game. They cant even spawn in and get a shot off before dying. This is true pf all melee turrets but I think shock therapy is the most egregious.

tldr: This augment is at its best when the game is at its worst.

for me is like always it is, manageable as long is normal hulls .. When it get equipped on a paladin then there is unbalanced op , since paladin can resist a blaster  , get out of range in a blink of an eye, catch you if you are trying to get distance and all the sort off.. with an armour that should not be allowed with that maneuverability and speed.
They never fix it , damn give them a STRIFE break time at least in normal games so they cant change direction ignoring physics law . Normal tanks have break time ..
Equip that Tesla and they KILL ALONE a JUGGY in seconds..spawning killls in the meantime  , do not mention when it overdrives ( and it was born as a support , lol) .
Without it it would be a "normal meta" manageable   , did not get ANY problem wit any other hulls , other hovers included ( they got kills but it was "not absurd" ) .

This would be an exotic category and EVERYONE is getting this augment. Every game we enter has 3 or 4 players with this Tesla augment.

And the worst part is that they all use the most ABSURD hulls ever invented. Before, the problem was the floating, broken hulls, much stronger than normal hulls.

Now they've added this senseless augment and along with the floating hulls, they are killing our hulls with everything full mk7, defense drone, in 1 second... IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO PLAY.

BORING matches, they end in 3 minutes, the entire enemy team or your team leaves, because they only die, respawn and die in 1 second.

Congratulations, you ruined the game.

It's going to get buffed before it gets added to epic containers. Give it time, normal for all auguments.
