Tesla, Tesla Tesla oh man. I was just in a battle where a guy with tesla at the end of the match had a k/d of 44/11. I don't know about other people but I just can't seem to kill this thing in time. It almost always 2 shots me. I really think it needs some SERIOUS balancing. Let me know your thoughts.

There are rumors which speaks for themselves saying that the Tesla turret is expected to be released to the garage in around a week's time. Maybe, this coming new week starting from Monday, we shall see and hear some good official news about the release of Tesla in the garage. Stay on the lookout for this hot news coming soon near you.

You actually were correct! For a few weeks, that is.

FunFact: When Tesla was first released, it's shot reload was 0.85 seconds. Which allowed Tesla to do 1153 Damage Per second at Mk7 20/20.

(980 Damage divided by a Reload of 0.85 equals 1152.94 Damage Per Second)

Which means, it had higher DPS than even Isida XD - Isida Mk7 20/20 only has 1150 DPS.

 

BUT: There was a secret balance change that probably happened recently (I think It was secret, because I didn't hear of it nor is it in the patch notes) but now Tesla's normal shot reload was increased to 0.9 seconds. So now, it only has 1088.88 Damage Per Second at Mk7 20/20.

 

Even then, it's still pretty high though.

Tesla is a very welcoming turret to most players. However, I do agree on the fact that some players will hate it as there are always haters in the world of Tanki Online. Like it or hate it, Tesla will be fun to use in battles as well as bring a never seen before lightning mechanic.

That's how Tanki work with new "free" stuff recently right? First, make it OPAF and exclusive to heavy buyers. After those buyers have enjoyed the OP version for a while, nerf it for "balancing" and release it to the rest of players. And after players have spent crystals to upgrade it for a while, further nerf it so that players will go back to the OG turrets. Profit.

Tesla has higher Damage Per Second, longer range, and infinite ammo, compared to stuff like Firebird and Freeze. In fact, with Heat Immunity going around, I doubt there's any reason to use Firebird nowadays, now that adding Tesla and making it's base stats far superior to Firebird's ends up giving another suitable Firebird replacement for players who enjoy short-ranged combat.

Honestly, 99% of Tesla's parameters are fine as they are now. The only thing that needs changing is a hefty damage reduction on the normal shots. Or an overall DPS nerf by further increasing the normal shot reload.
