Tesla in the Garage and new augments

Description
This augment gives Tesla a level of versatility that is not available to other turrets. Ball lightning leaves your barrel as fast as a shot and will travel large distances and cause your opponents a lot of trouble. However, the ball flies so fast that it's almost impossible to use it for chain lightning.

Advantages Plus.png

  • Lightning ball speed: 75 m/s
  • Lightning ball range: 1000m

Disadvantages Minus.png

  • Lightning ball warmup time: +100%

 

And it's only obtained from Ultra Containers

Tesla is just another way to kill opponents.

 

I think it is not the best turret of all.

It is just one more turret to diverse the way we can play!

 

I think that by now people just want to give it a try and test it.

And it works better in big groups of the same turret or solo without Tesla opponents and some clever way to use it.

 

At the moment I am using Trickster drone to escape from Tesla nets and destroy them at secure distance with the "terrrible" combo Mammoth + HR / Vulcan + IB + some protections to get a great fireworks to clear the space ?

I also use other combos that are really good like Wasp + SI / Freeze + SF that is a blast also. It depends of the opponents and objective!

Sometime ago I used to play with Dictator + HI / Vulcan + IB combo and that was a bless with endless fire ?

And that would get really endless with some Isidas help ?

 

So what I mean is that TO game intends to be dynamic! And we must use the best combo we like to play more with and that we feel easier to use.

And we must addapt and change the way we play to get more fun.

 

In the future it will be like I said before, just another turret to play as you like and nothing else!

 

Get fun and enjoy to play TO.

I pretty much used to hear the same when Hornet has its old OD. It is just a hull, nothing else. What could possibly go wrong with that?

Tfw when I score decently in a game of >9k GS players with my M0 Tesla :3 

I know it'll be balanced somehow eventually but its really hard not to be pissed off during this phase. To be honest, Tesla's OPness was fairly clear in test servers itself so I'm not sure what they even tested.

They are trying to sell them before the sales, no way im gonna buy it even if i have 9M crystals, still i'll wait for tankers days to max it out.

I've been fighting the urge to buy it outright so bad :c 

Not to mention the few hundred tankoins I spent refreshing shop in hopes of a Tesla kit before realizing they don't exist yet. 9000iq I know ?

You can try it on a new account, thats what i did and still it was t fun to use because i was 1 shot everyone, then i felt ashame and went back to my main account.

This feedback is coming from playing Tesla from TO Mobile, in the mid ranks. 

 

 

As Tesla has two firing modes, it is innately fun for me to use, but a bit uncomfortable. The design of the augments are interesting, albeit very simple. It is clearly too strong, particularly in 1 v 1 and 1 v 2 engagements which happen frequently throughout battles. 

 

My biggest gripe with using Tesla is that due to TO Mobile's minimalist approach to graphics and the fact that I don't play with sound, it is annoying that there is no visual indicator that my Tesla is shooting, or that other Teslas are shooting. It would be great if there was a visual indicator like the previous indicator Tesla on PC had, which can be seen here:

As for balancing this turret, I don't know. Tesla's parameters all throughout, like Hopper was, are overtuned. There are a multitude of ways it can be taken and I hope the Devs choose the one that works best. My suggestions would be to:

 

1. Decrease the range at which the ball lightning connects to other objects, and to decrease the base damage. 

 

2. Decrease the base damage and increase the penetration. 

 

3. Rework Tesla to have an energy supply like the other melee turrets, to stop it from having infinite ammo.

We don't need this, well, the range nerf at least. Tesla doesn't need that....honestly, the range is fine.

We also don't need this. It's nice to see Tesla be unique, being the only turret whose ammo bar doesn't empty out.

Although, guess what? Tesla doesn't really have unlimited ammo anyway. Each shot needs 0.9 seconds to reload, which is long enough to count as a "reload" lol. Smoky's reload is only like half a second longer.

This is the change we need. Honestly, Tesla's really simple to balance out. It's only problem is too much damage. So thus, damage is really the only thing that needs tweaking. And the penetration buff would be nice if the lower damage makes Tesla weak against multiple enemies.

Many times on the mobile version, the electric balls can't connect with my weapon electricity, do you have the same problem?
