We are all pretty familiar with the 'what are the stupidest things your teammates do?' topic. So this topic is to share your ideas on how to be a better team player.

Here are a few ideas of mine for attack assault:

  1. After attacking the base, step on as much mines as possible. This is to give your other fellow attackers a smoother entrance.
  2. When you don't have a flag, either go behind the payer with a flag to support him, or go to a good spot and eliminate the enemies at the Base for the attacker, to provide a smoother entrance.
  3. Choose either to attack or to kill. It is essential to know what to do. I'm not saying that it would be bad to attack with the flag when you are supposed to kill off enemies, but most of the time, a combo is best suited for a particular position. An in between combo can be railgun, striker, Vulcan, thunder, and gauss paired with an light hull or medium hull, which gives you enough speed to defend when you want to, or to attack when you want to.

So that's all I can think of right now, what tips do you have?

  • Before taking the OD box, check if there are teammates around you. Let them take it if they have no OD and you have yours ready. Even if yours isn't ready, let them take it if they're using a hull with slow OD charge rate, especially if it's at the start of the game or you saw them use their OD very recently. Obviously don't risk it if enemies are going for the OD box too.
  • Try to avoid getting in your teammates' way and bumping them, especially if they're a Railgun or Shaft. And never get in front of a Viking that's firing its OD.
  • Let your teammates capture flags if your OD is ready and theirs isn't.
  • When a teammate is carrying the flag, cover them from enemy fire by driving between them and any potential line of sight from enemies.
  • This one goes without saying, but let your teammate take the repair kit if they have less health than you.

When in a CTF match, drive away from the main guy i.e. that is pulling the flag of the enemy team and instead try to make way for the tanker by either blocking the enemy team that is chasing the main guy or killing all the enemy tankers behind him (sort of giving him cover).

  • Stay away from teammates when you're getting hit with a splash/mass-dmg weapon. Also avoid setting up an unnecessary rail/jugg skevers with your pals.
  • Watch your buds back:
    • Give cover fire to charging teammates.
    • If they have a low-awareness turret like magnum or shaft watch for people trying to sneak on them.
    • Mess with your opponents aim by hitting them at inconvinient times, even when your not the one getting shot at.
  • When 2/v1: ing take a different angle from your mate to not get in your teammates way and to confuse the opponent.
  • Give up a flag when you're at low health or with a weak tank to someone who can take better care of it.
  • Don't sacrifice co-ordination to hog kills, recaptures or supplies.
  • Ignore k/d. The best k/d is gotten by being too irrelevant for your opponents to shoot at and by stealing kills, essentially by being a horrible teamplayer.
  • Hunter tips:
    • When using hunter look for opponent titan or wasp overdrives instead of immidiately using it for kills. A single dome can win a game for your opponents.
    • Use the overdrive to clear the way, even if you die you'll still contribute greatly.
    • Use it to guard a low-hp juggernaut instead of going for an attack, your overdrive is one of the worst to kill a juggernaut with.
  • Shaft tips:
    • Think before you park your tank for scoping. Blaming teammates for bumping into you is hard if you're parked in trafficed territory.
    • Shafts are notorious for playing solo. Instead you should look for the targets that are the most inconvinient for your team; don't just pick 1-shots, or do slow and inefficient sniper-duels. Stay aware of the movements of your opponents and teammates, then be where your team needs you to be!
  • Show respect to your opponents too. They're your future/past teammates.
  • Aknowledge the game is plaid to have fun... Even if you do everything wrong with your plays it's still much better than being a toxic player.

This is a game and when we play MM or Team Battles in PRO we're playing one team against another, and the objective is to win.

So, I think our first objective should be to win and not necessarily how to be good teammates. And isn't helping your team win also good for your temmates?

Sometimes you don't have to kill an enemy that is going after one of your teammates if that action is better for your team's 1st objective.

Sometimes you don't have to kill an enemy that's spawn killing for the reason that you don't want that enemy to respawn close to their base and become part of the enemies' defense.

Sometimes it's better to not defend a camper that is not helping your team with the first objective.

If your first objective is to win you may as well let enemies spawn kill some of your team mates while you're going for the flag.

Now when the winning is secured, feel free to be Mr or Ms Nice.

Of course, if helping your teammate with something is also good for the first objective then that's welcomed.

Prioritize od charge box by hulls, support od will sustain team, camping with mammoth just to stand there with it on and hoping an enemy run into you is beyond stupid and you should seek therapy.

Good points, but if the enemy is spawn killing you in ctf rugby or assault, wouldn't it be smarter to kill the enemy to give you a chance to leave your base?

Lol :P Well Hopper haters will be happy now as Hopper sucks, except for golds. And even there Dictator is now equal or better, arguably. I have more success in capture modes now with Paladin, Hunter or even Mammoth with Trickster.

Anyhow, back on topic - many good points have already been covered. A few things I can think of right now:

In TJR:

- help defend your teams' Juggernaut when they are low HP and don't have overdrive - then when he heals up you can go back on offence.
- Also, try to let your Juggernaut have the overdrive box if he is nearby, unless you are a Viking/Dictator with Cyclone Striker, and think that you could get a kill on the enemy Jug.
- If you see a Viking with overdrive headed to your Juggernaut, try to kill him or somehow interrupt. If they are using a splash turret such as Striker, Thunder or Gauss, make sure to stand in front of them so they kill themselves if they try to use their overdrive.

With Nanobots Isida:
- Try to heal other good Nanobots Isidas or even regular Isidas as a priority, as if you keep them alive they can keep you alive, and together they keep your team alive. The only exception is if there is one especially good player, try to heal them a lot also as one good player can often help the team effort more than several weaker ones.

Yes, that's why I said "sometimes".

My point is that it all depends, and that our actions should first be focused on the first objective.

If you think defending your base is more important for your team's victory, then that's what you should do. For example, helping defend the base when a group of enemies are coming and there's a possibility they could take flag, then the best thing to do could be to help your teammates defend the base and flag.

Always heal a teammate from behind - don't get in their way.

If you see any mult teammate troubling your team's Juggernaut, kindly try to push him away. If that teammate doesn't budge, voting is a good idea (click on the nickname of that player in the <Tab> screen and then click on "Vote". Ask other members of your team to report the player as well. Sabotage is a serious violation of the Game Rules, and players often get blocked for it.

Always let your team know if the enemy Juggernaut has very low health, or if there's a Magnum/Shaft lurking far away in some bushes. Or even if you have a support-overdrive (like the overdrives of Paladin, Dictator, Titan, Ares, etc.) ready at 100%. Or, at least use these overdrives around more than 3 teammates.

VERY IMPORTANT:

Spoiler

Always look out for any SOS or HELP messages in the chat. A lonely Firebird-Wasp might be lying on its side, shooting out magnificent flames to let everyone know that its in a difficult situation - don't stand there and admire those flames! Help that tank in every possible way (until you see the fateful red skull symbol indicating self-destruction...). This is totally not based on multiple instances of my tank flipping on its side when I had Firebird/Freeze/Isida/Tesla/Healing-Shaft.

While using Blaster, don't explode near a teammate perched precariously on the edge of a bridge/ledge/cliff. You won't like those beautiful strings of words that would inevitably erupt out of the team chat, especially if you understand their language.

Isida, first off. If you have Isida equipped, either you've got Vampire Nanobots or you're healing people. But if you're healing, don't go and be a bother, blocking shots and stuff. Heal from the side, and don't just trail after the Juggernaut.

Equip a drone like Mechanic, Supplier, or Engineer. Then pray that Tanki buffs it.

Use a supporting hull, or just a hull with a supporting Overdrive. Namely, Paladin, Dictator, Ares, and Titan. And use those Overdrives to support. Titan works really well on Siege points. Dictator - well you know how that works. Ares, believe it or not, is superb for sending in to back up your teammates. It's practically a slow-moving, unstoppable Isida. And Paladin, despite everything you see today, was not originally designed to rush in, get a billion kills, and rush out with a flag and without a scratch. Plot twist: It was supposed to support your teammates. Use it that way. Honestly, I get the most satisfaction out of Paladin when I use it to heal teammates as of now.

And also avoid bunching up. When I play with splash turrets, there have been many times when I'm fighting an enemy, they go hide behind cover, but then a teammate parks next to them out in the open allowing me to kill the teammate and the guy that is hiding with splash damage.

This one baffles me the most. I find it weird that some people treat the opposing team like they're some kind of non-humans. It's even funnier when a guy spends the whole game showering me with insults, and in the next game we're on the same team, and suddenly he loves me

Also, some people always complain about buyers on the enemy team and "mults" in their own team, but at the same time completely fail to acknowledge buyers in their own team and noobs in the opposition.

In Siege

Use Ares, Wasp or Titan with Twins, Firebird, Freeze, Vulcan or Striker to help allies and to kill enemies. Use mines near points of capturing. Stand beside your allies and fight for your team.

In Assualt if you are in the Attacking team

Use Hopper, Wasp, Mammoth with Firebird, Freeze, Twins. Plant mines in where you see lots of enemies are there.

In Assualt if you are in the Defending team

Use Mammoth, Titan, and all heavy tanks with Twins, Tesla, and Thunder, gather with you teammates under a protective place if attacked then use Titan Overdrive if you have Titan or chat any Titan near you to use his overdrive. Don't forget to plant mines near flags

In Capture The Flag

Use Hopper, Wasp (Now Paladin is the latest fashion in the mode you can also use that) with Crisis drone (Highly recommended Crisis drone, other game modes you and your teammates may do well without drones) with Firebird, Freeze (You can  also use Mammoth with Magnum or Shaft) go with the one who takes the flag and goes to deliver the flag. Clear his way.

Don't think healing only helps you to be a good teammate.

-When you see a teammate with a flag that's being chased, look in front of them, and try to guess what path they're going to take, adjusting your strategy to support them as best as you can.

-If you're using Mechanic, don't activate all 3 supplies at once, keep speed boost ready so to have an instant repair kit avaliable after you already used it once (mines work perfectly well too in case you need that speed boost to run faster.)

-With viking and short range turrets, for either healing or attacking, try to guess what's going to happen next, if you see a Titan or Mammoth getting close with OD ready and your team is about to capture an important point, immediately activate your overdrive and try to attack those players, they won't expect you to prefire, and they'll either use their OD prematurely, back away or just die to a random huge critical hit of yours. At the same time, if you see an enemy viking with OD ready approaching your juggernaut, and the juggernaut is unaware, you can do the same thing and heal them prematurely.

-If you see your local Isida going for a repair kit, EVEN if you have low hitpoints, let the Isida take it (unless you have an enemy in front of you). If the Isida has mechanic, you'll get the effect shared, if not, you'll get healed either way (unless they're using vampire nanobots)

-If a gold box is dropping, but the battle is very close to be a loss or a tie, DON'T go for the gold, you'll get way more crystals by playing the objective and getting a victory!!!

-If you see that your only (support) Isida is getting constantly focused by a specific enemy, make them your primary target to take out, your team is nothing without an experienced medic, which can often determine the outcome of the battle.

-Don't trashtalk your teammates and ragequit at the first signs of "defeat", encourage them, even if there's like 10 buyers on the enemy team, give advice on the equipment, if your teammates are newbies, tell them what to do. A team of f2p players that uses teamwork is much better than a team of buyers that doesn't.

-If you're flipped to the side and someone is trying to help you, don't self destruct right away.

-Prioritize your targets (most dangerous/in need of health)

-When you are on fire, wait for the burning timer to go down a bit before using your repair kit (depends from how much health you have ofc), or else you'll get damaged while the repair is active, removing the positive effect.

-With Isida, you can artificially increase your range. With viking for example, if you drive backwards, you can expose your tank less if you're trying to heal/attack someone and hide behind a wall at the same time (to avoid getting shot by more than one enemy). You can do this with every hull! And i'm sure it can work with other short range turrets as well!

-If you're using viking and your OD is at 85-90% leave the nuclear box to a nearby teammate who doesn't have it.

Generally great advice, although this is the only one I slightly disagree with :P Because the gold could be a black box, with an augment/100k/300k/1 million crystals - so I would always go for the gold. However if I saw it was a regular gold, and not a container gold - in this situation I would head back to the objective. Good point that winning would give more than 1000 crystals :) .

However, I don't fail to run for golds every time since one match when I missed out on a 100k crystals container that dropped xD (back when you could open containers in battle in flash, the guy who caught it claimed this anyway). And I have gotten 100k from a black box myself, and a hull augment once too.

I do that and the enemy attacks me and leaves my teammate alone.

I don't know if it's the way I move or what but when, for example, a Freeze is firing to both me and a teammate and I move to another angle of the enemy, that enemy turns the turret or hull to continue attacking me, when I was wanting the enemy to continue attacking my teammate that's standing still and I attacking the enemy from another angle.

Because of that sometimes I want to be the one standing still and my teammate be the one moving, but since I don't see that happening... life is so hard.(
