Why would low or mid-rank players stick around?  I wouldn't start a new account today because of the ridiculous changes Devs have implemented - from paying in TKs for module slots, to the crazy fast ranking to the stupidly wide rank-spreads in matchmaker.

Sometime it's not just about "you".

If you "care for the game", but to you, "low or mid-rank players" may well leave because the game is so bad, that means exactly that you don't care for the game, but for the needs of the likes of you who, have already climbed to the end of the rank scale.

For anyone interested, here are the new maximum number of shots you can shoot wih Viking's Overdrive. I have not been able to do Incendiary Rounds and EMP Rounds because I don't have them.

Large Calibre Rounds: 

  • 10 shots (9 enhanced)

Hyperspace Rounds:

  • 10 shots (9 enhanced)

 

Electromagnetic Accelerator "Scout": 

  • 9 shots (10th shot cancelled)

 

Round Destabilisation: 

  • 10 shots (9 enhanced)

 

"Death Herald" Compulsator:

  • 10 shots (9 enhanced)

 

Reinforced Aiming Transmission:

  • 10 shots (9 enhanced)

 

 

Notes:

  • Most of these Railguns at maximum upgrades can shoot either 9 shots or 10 shots in total. Which number you get will depend on whether the Overdrive is activated during the shot delay or during the shot reload. Ideally, you want to activate it during the shot delay so you can get 10 instead of 9 maximum. For Cryo Railgun, Stun Railgun and Scout, it does not matter when you activate it, you will always get 9 shots maximum. 

 

  • When activating the Overdrive with Scout during the shot delay, it will result in the Overdrive ending during the shot delay of the 10th shot, effectively giving you 9 shots maximum, but they are all enhanced. 

 

  • "X enhanced" means those number of shots will be under the damage coefficient of Viking's Overdrive if you were continuously shooting from start to finish. For visualisation, the Overdrive ends immediately as the 10th shot is fired, which as a result, will deal the damage you would outside of Viking's Overdrive. 

 

  • AP Railgun happens to trump the Patch Note by having above 10 shots maximum. 11 shots if you activate it during the shot reload and 12 shots if activated during the shot delay. How this occured when it has the same firing as Stock is completely unknown. ?

 

  • Now that most of the Railgun have the same number of shots, the strongest augment during the Overdrive is Scout with a base damage coefficient of x4.2. The weakest augment during the Overdrive is Round Stabilisation for its lack of critical hits.

 

@DestrotankAI9 There were no silent changes to the damage coefficients this week.

@wolverine848 I think he is trying to say that because you are at legend, he does not believe you care about the low to mid ranks.

He does not understand that you are trying to make a point about the game as a whole. His problem, not yours.

Nah it's not, he called it "smart play" when it is not, and he mocked the 2 low gears players in that battle.

In a tdm match (the playing style he've done in that siege) 300 score is average for a 7 minutes match, now that there is 15 min, 300 is very bad, thats 20 scores per minute, but you left tanki, maybe you dont know that matches are 15 minutes long.

I didn’t leave. I took a six month break.

For camping on a losing team that’s an alright score.

What if i get above 5 k/d on an harcore attacking playing style? It isnt impossible to play the mode objective AND having a kd above 2 or 3.

But if you like hardcore camping, then play as you want. I dont judge you for this but dont call low gear in your battle pathetic people when you have a parasite playing style.

So one would think, but all of the augments can be calculated differently, hence actual tests are needed and not guesses. One would have guessed last year that the status Railguns with the +20% shot delay penalty would have shot fewer times than Stock or Death Herald which has a shot delay penalty of its own, yet those status Railguns shot 4 more shots than DHC and Stock. One would have thought that Scout with its increased firing rate would be shooting more often than Stock, yet it shot the same whole Augments that decreased the firing rate shot more than Scout. 

One would have also guessed last year that Small Calibre Charging Machine having an increased firing rate would lead to more shots during the Overdrive, yet it shot the same number as Stock while Sledgehammer with pretty much the same reload as Small Calibre Charging Machine shot 3 more than it. 

 

Point is, you don't know until you actually do it, especially with these Devs that vehemently refuse to be transparent about their game's mechanics and the numbers behind it to the players.

It's just too ambiguous, the other team could have been really coordinated and gone full speed ahead to every single point, capturing them in near-record time or they could have had a lot of resistance and barely captured the last one with seconds to spare. The latter one is definitely not the case since the losing team was really just a team of three with how much the bottom three players died compared to how much they killed. The bottom three players have fewer combined kills than the (single) person with the third-most kills, and more deaths than the rest of the team combined.

Don't forget about the recent changes to containers which has made the game more p2w than ever before.

Also, these devs do not deserve someone who's as caring as you.

Agreed.

I generally dislike camping in this game BUT I don’t blame campers since they are simply playing on their terms rather than the way the devs are trying to force them to play.

Not to mention that going all out capturing points would consume a crap ton of supplies and batteries and, in this current economy, that would bleed most F2P players of the few remaining supplies they have.

Before... I had a Thunder and you come and nerfed it... Now I've put all my money on Striker MK7, and now you come and nerfed it again... LET ME PLAY! Each turret that I'm going to use you come and nerfed that... This game is going to die.
