Status Mines/Mine Rework

Mines are incredibly annoying.

One touch of them can either be a bit of damage to your Hull, or be a crit, which unless you got Armadillo, you are probably guaranteed dead.

 

Here's the idea.

It is quite simple, and some parts were inspired from Tanki X.

3 types of new Mine ideas.

Instead of a death touch crit. What if they gave ONE of the following examples:

  • Jammer - 3 Seconds
  • AP - 3 Seconds
  • Freezing - 3 Seconds

It will make your enemies tank vulnerable, and not a simple "Keep Out" button.

How will it affect Drones?

Technically, the Mine rework opens up new uniqueness to different Drones, and here are ideas.

Miner Drone - Mine crits Freezes. Default mine damage is the same.

Saboteur Drone - Mine crits gives Jammer. This is for the base defenders. For those raiders who unfortunately step on a Jamming mine, will be jammed, making it harder for the enemy to escape, and must rely on their skill rather than Overdrive.

Hyperion Drone - It's already a good Drone. No buffs for you.

 

Default Mines. Any Drone. Crits give AP for 3 seconds. You won't instantly die, but rather vulnerable for a very short period.

What do you guys think?

 

I also wanted to include Spider-Mines from TX but that will probably take a lot of time to develop, also, that is even the Devs want to consider it.

Mines are just out of hand in general. Too many games are pointless because there are 30-40 mines around an objective (Flag, Goal, Jug). I just left a Rugby match because there was literally no point in playing. It was impossible to get to the goal because there were so many mines and no way for my team to destroy defenders. I know it is pointless to ask if developers look at game balance (they dont), but this seems like a no brainer that the Miner drone needs a big NERF. I dont know if people are using NE to OD at the beginning of matches, but too often - and on specific maps- this happens.

Are you sure it's not Saboteur drones you're seeing?

Your issue should be directed more at Saboteur than Miner. It's funny watching people blame Miner when Saboteur is the main culprit.

Honestly, the recent changes to both Saboteur and a little to miner, has promoted player's to rather use these drones plainly. Everyday now, I see more and more number of people camping with these drones than before.

In my Map Tier List, which is primarily for CTF since I play it the most, I rated maps like Chernushka, and Wolfenstein in the F Tier (Below Massacre). The main reason, is that their bases are in areas that are hard to reach whether they are on elevated areas with walls covering the campers, and Saboteurs can easily close off any entrance making games slow, or unplayable.
