Just for clarification, look at this streamer‘s video showcasing Pulsar about a week and a half ago:

It’s definitely increased.

Well, in that case, I must change my opinion. It does seem to be much more powerful than I initially stated.

Surely the devs have put through some sort of patch update today? I suspect a few Pulsar owners may have complained about how low the crit rate was so the devs decided to increase it.

I've got a feeling there have been multiple bugs going mostly unnoticed for pulsar.

Let me delve into the conspiracy:

1st the 1s nerf. Maybe and just maybe it wasn't intentional at all. It may have happend because all rico status augments are somehow connected, and so the nerf for AP,EMP,sizzling field affected pulsar as well. (Why would I think so? Rico AP - since the sizzling field has been introduced, rico AP applies AP both on bounce AND on crits).

2nd the bounce bug. Pulsar applies only AP and EMP on ricocheted crits. I'd again refer to the connection to the original AP augment, what connection? hard to say.

Now regarding the crit rate, I don't have any theory for that, maybe it's being tampered with as you say, who knows...

this seems the most logical assumption so far.

Errors can happen and the game code could break in some points when releasing a new update.

Even though i despise Alternativa, i have to admit they release their updates with a lot of polish and prior testing, compared to other companies, such as the ones of big AAA games or big sponsors.

I have seen that you own pulsar aswell, do its critical rate increased?

Oh yeah, I remembered that Freeze + Dictator in Silence was you ?

And yeah, I was testing it out and the crit rate does seem to have increased a bit.

Ah you demasked me ??? i knew you were lucky with UC but i was surprised that you also owned the augment. Maybe i also need to take a 6 month break and come back after to see if my luck goes insane ?

It is half balanced since you have to rely on teammates to finish them off. But if your using drones like booster or crisis with it the augment is cracked. But overall, as I have said before the role given to pulsar is supposed to be a support role mostly rather than solo role like helios. Like I said before, Pulsar is just cancerous for team usage and helios is cancerous for solo play. 

 

Edit: recently I played with pulsar on both mobile and PC more and I also noticed a crit rate increase like @LambSauce said earlier. So I don't know if it is a bug or not either.

seems valid, since nerf was not mentioned, it look like chain reaction

smth similar happened before

Pulsar needs good crit RNG it needs at least 2+ crits before finishing the enemy to be ''premium augment'' level

Most of the time i would get 1 crit every 3 kills so im literally playing with default rico 66,6% of the time on average.
Yesterday i noticed that Pulsar crits like x3+ more now it actually makes pulsar into powerfull alt and not stock rico with 300+ gs.

Hopefully you undarstand it now!

Stun smoky takes insane time to get critical which applies useless 1 sec stun. Pulsar is not even that bad, exactly opposite, it's OP. I have seen you using pulsar. You got critical every time you encountered me (it was match in Cologne, I remember that battle well because it was impossible to play that match)  and you killed me in every occasion (or I survived maybe once thanks to my teammates).

I am really wondering why are you and the other guy getting shrugs. You are lucky forum does not have other emojis, because you would be getting those instead so if I were you I would be satisfied with only shrugs.

 

So what if players can't get pulsar from container? It should be auto-win? Of course no, before it got a bit of a nerf it was broken. There was no way to survive, even helios was more survivable sometimes for me (armadillo+ defender). It is obvious you want to ruin already questionable game balance.

 

Hopefully helios gets well deserved nerf so you won't have to bother comparing it to pulsar.

I agree, Pulsar is plenty strong right now, basically only getting outcompeted  by Helios in some situations.

If it retains its current stats an rarity, I will be more than content.

Helios just needs a slight nerf in energy reload and I think it will be more managable.

Slight nerf? Come on, it needs a significant one.

Helios doesn’t even have the excuse of being a limited-time augment that Pulsar has.

I mean, you're right.

I'm just aware they aren't going to nerf the new top UC exotic augment like that, just yet. Therefore any nerf will do for the time being.

almost always shrug emoji is basically You Post A "Hot Take" And People Get Sad emoji. Even if that take is backed up by facts, from what i noticed people in this game just think they know everything about every kind of game so they talk like they now everything while being surprised that devs want money which proves they dont even know most simple things about games. Thankfully at least forum mods know what they are talking about and maybe like 3 normal people so you can have a normal discussion with people who can accept that they're wrong and have an idea of how online games work. 

Also Pulsar got a secret buff ig? so now its one of the most OP augments there is which makes sense considering you can get it like 2months a year (if they decide to make it mini-game exclusive) or never after this Dark Matter thing while helios you can get any time with luck on your side so it doesn't deserve to be most OP or even x2 better than garage augment imo.

Edit: nvm whopping 9 crits in 7 minutes with 18 kills is not what i would consider OP or "Insta win". Just proves my point that its way too inconsistent.

So what? Everyone on the internet acts like they know everything, big deal. This is especially true for tanki where 99% complaints have underlying intention of getting a buff for your preferred combo or nerfing the combo you hate the most. Rarely anyone cares about balance, with some exceptions, first ones that come to my mind TheCongoSpider and Abellia (they spit straight fact unlike you), there are more that care of course, but still extremely rare.

 

You are going to get shrugs, you think you know the facts, but you provide only circumstantial evidence. Others have different experience, I know what I saw when I play against that etc. it doesn't make your experience a fact or more valid than ours.

 

I will try to get constructive a bit. So I will just throw some recommendations for pulsar balance/rework.

Absolutely unacceptable would be to increase its EMP and stun duration. This would make match against pulsar user completely unplayable.

Extending armour piercing and burning by certain  would be okey.

Hell, instead of increasing status effects which almost everyone hates and ruins game experience in general, they could perhaps rework its critical dmg which is low. I know the reason for such low crits is justified, but buyers like to not care about balance. Also, they could give this augment infinite ammo instead because it's so special i dunno haha. Something to please buyers with a little bit of permissive imbalance, but not game breaking.

Last time i remember tanki being balanced was like 2019. Hazel couldn't care less about balance now since the game is ruined beyond repair... i mean just look at "legends" can't turn their turret getting 1/10 while actualy trying to play. Battles NOT ENDING in 7-0 in the first 5 minutes because of random buyer having newest toy happens once a blue moon. Pulsar being once a lifetime item and being unbalanced (even tho nothing is balanced in the first place now) is not that much of a big deal at this point. Do i hate playing against Pulsars? YES. All i want is Pulsar being "OP" and "Premium" alts being A LITTLE BIT better than garage ones. Also add new garage alts already!! And i know a lot of buyers that care about game balance. And just use Heat or EMP immunity with rico prot (no crit prot) against pulsar it makes pulsar almost useless at least from my experience when i played against pulsar and when i was using pulsar.
Forgot to add: i play gacha games i am a part of many gacha communties those communities are considered to be the most toxic communities in gaming and even there people ACCEPT that they are wrong or that they don't know everything which says a lot about tanki community. trying to prove something buying related to this community is as toxic staying near Elephants Foot for an hour. Thats why i dont bother making calculations or showcases that are bigger than below 1 minute video. Im literally just entertaining myself here its always fun to see there wars in the forum.
