The game works! The token of apology

So you don’t have any qualms about what’s been going on these last few days?

Qualms? None, because I don't have enough information — I don't like to jump to any conclusions without understanding the situation fully. I've got into many awkward situations before...

Concerns? Yes. I am as optimistic as my mind allows, because one must be practical too...

Or neither...? Aren't those assumptions a bit too extreme (and convenient too, considering your general views on matters like these)?

Never mind though, I'm just having fun here.

No Vene, but the management team has to be very careful with these announcements. "The game works!" is in the heading and I will also admit I did experience some intense lag after they 'fixed' the problem. I think this announcement came too early and they should've ran some more tests before giving players the reassurance that the servers are now good, when in reality there's still some more work to be done.

Strange that you’re not slightly concerned that the devs won’t give any information.

They will “consider” telling us about it in the next v-log. So otherwise the vlog would have carried on with no mention of this huge issue plaguing everyone.

There’s no accountability. Perhaps Russians are used to this and I’m not sure about you, but I for certain am not.

The token last till june 6th or june 10th? This announcement says june 6th while the special missions says june 10th, which one to believe?

I would believe what the mission says, but will try to get you a confirmation on this one.

what game did you fix? Cause it sure wasnt this one, im not the only one having problems with the server booting me, everyone in general is saying the same thing. Not to mention the crystals we lose when the game kicks us, the exp, rewards etc. And this isnt a new issue, I would expect that as game makers and devs, you would take pride in the game you earn money from, the game you take people money, but we deal with the constant booting out of the server. But you are still racking in the money from the poor souls who spend on it.

Yes, accountability is important. But the management also has the right to withhold information as it sees fit. There's no way you can know their thought-process. Then why don't they explain their thought-process, you might ask? There could be multiple reasons behind that — maybe it's too complex to even announce to the general playerbase? It could potentially cause lots of confusion which might need even more effort to resolve?

Or, it might involve revealing some sensitive plans that aren't meant to be revealed just yet?

These are just a few reasons that I could think of at the moment...

So, no — I don't mind one bit even if they don't reveal the details of the problem. I respect their decision and move on. It could be embarassing, yes, but when has humanity ever allowed an embarassed entity to live in peace? I don't think this forum will remain clean if the apparently embarrassing reason is revealed — so there's no harm in not giving any extra explanation beyond the bare minimum (something to do with cables). It's an online game, after all ?‍♀️

Started off well, but lost the argument the moment you mocked an entire nation based on the actions of a few.

Nevertheless, let's continue.

Just got kicked from another battle. Ping went to 6000 and everyone started spinning.

The title of this announcement is "The game works! The token of apology".

The developers are saying one thing and I (and many other players) are experiencing something to the contrary. So either they lied about it being fixed or are incompetent when it comes to fixing this issue.

Ignoring your ad hominem attack at the top of your post, I'm really not sure what is so friggin' hard to understand about this.

Or, they fixed it and then the issue resurfaced — or another issue occurred that they could never have predicted. If there's so much uncertainty, I don't expect any prompt announcement even though it may be required at this moment.

Regarding the ad hominem attack, I apologise — that particular comment just struck me differently, and hence I reacted without thinking much. I have edited it out.

Unfortunately, the only thing the Tanki organization takes pride is in finding ways to get more money out of ignorant players. As far as fixing problems, they have proven over and over again that they have no skills to fix anything.  I thought I was the only one having problems, cleaned the browser's cache, cleaned the client's cache and still the same error "lost server connection ControlChannelDIsconnetcException"  message. I got kicked out in the middle of the battle 4 times! and now I cannot even login to the game.

the fact is, the game has had this same issue for years, and when you contact support they say its your end, but you see, everyone in general is having the same problems, so how the hell can it be on our end. the devs of this game take no pride in the game they use to rob people money and time. honestly tired of losing stars and crystals

Was there even any downtime though? Players were posting about how the game didn't seem to have any prolonged downtime this morning. I myself didn't notice it.

i would say quit giving free crap to cover up the fact things are still broken, and just shut the damn game down until its fixed, but honestly keep  doing it, in the end it just helps me.

I feel as though many are not understanding the difficulties of coding. The backlash they're receiving now is outlandish in my opinion. Who lies about fixing a game?

Moreso what could they possibly gain from doing so? Coding has never been nearly easy to do. Especially when doing so in a set window of time.

The title of this thread is appropriate, as at the time this post was made the game may have been operating correctly.  Theres 1,000 other things you could have possibly

posted in this thread to possibly give insight onto the matter. But you decide to bash the development team.

Don't be inconsiderate, Especially when 6,000 ping is nothing compared to my 30,000

They said the problem wasn't on their end.

Also Marcus mentioned switching cables so supposedly it was a hardware issue.

Stating an 12 year old can code was a odd preferred way to back up "coding is easy"
In reality it's not, Just because they've learned to code does not make the task easy.

On the contrary I have no clue what "Big coding," is.

Appreciate the generous compensation, now I haven't played Tanki enough this past week to know exactly what the issue was but I got kicked from a battle and it made me quit so guessing its not exactly fixed...

I am crying from laughter with this statement! Seriously, It took you 5 days to figure out the all you had to do was "switching cables"? First of all, the game is NOT fixed since it still suffers from the same problems. 2. Assuming it was faulty cables, it would be one of the rarest issues! Cables either work or they do not! They do not cause intermittent issues.  3. Perhaps by "switching cables" he means they replaced faulty hardware such as a router or switch or even a network card in the server. Since I do not know the Tanki infrastructure, I could guess that either they are experiencing a serious DDoS attack or perhaps they were having issues with hardware such as routers, load balancers, etc.  At this point though it is irrelevant as to what the issue is. What is relevant, is the fact that players still cannot play the game and all the apologies in the world will not negate that fact.
